Ordered Da Bremerton and it was good ! The pork was delicious and their chicken. The short ribs lacked flavor on the meat itself, they had a sauce on it, but didn’t hide the lack of marinade. Overall it was really good and will be back next time we are in town! Staff was nice! The establishment is small, not a lot of seats. Definitely recommend getting it to go :)

They try so hard, GREAT staff, very nice owner! Ambiance, divy and dark — like many diners in Hilo Service is fast Food is Hawaiian comfort style but I’ve had better, I’ve had my own and eaten at many other Hawaiian places, this is just okay. The mac salad was good. The waitress(young nice gal) said her uncle helps out once in awhile and will make malasadas as a treat occasionally, she told me they«cheat» and use Pillsbury dough to make Malasada, smh Unfortunately we will not be back. Priced accordingly

Went on an adventure trying to find this place(it’s really small and easy to miss). My patience was rewarded with some of the best chicken I’ve ever had and delicious fried saimin noodles. Sat down at the bar and ordered, got my food in a to go box which is perfect because I could only eat half of it anyways. They gave me a plastic knife and fork to eat with; the Huli chicken was so tender I cut through it with the plastic knife like it was butter. The noodles were unlike anything I’ve had. This was my first experience with saimin. I was expecting a sweet flavor like yakisoba, this was more on the savory side and equally delicious. If you are getting on or off the ferry and you’re hungry this is a good spot to go. Prices are right too.

So, we were every restaurants nightmare– we show up right at opening and place a HUGE to go order, No problem. My husband is from Kaneohe and misses plate lunch and Musubi so bad. Everything was perfect. Tonight, he ate like a Hawai’ian, not until he was full, but until he was tired of eating! Thanks all, and my 16 yr old who is never full couldnt get through the amazing sandwich that was made for him. Mahalo Nui Loa !

Really nice people, but not very tasty food. We wanted the hawaiian crispy chicken, they were out. Ended up with katsu, garlic chicken, and huli huli chicken. Not much flavor. Mac salad was bland, and the rice wasnt true«sticky» rice.

Yep, it’s legit. Even the kid liked it! She’s the pickiest. We got the Hawaiian Crispy Chicken, Garlic Chicken, and Huli Huli Chicken. My daughter had the Huli Huli, for the record. Staff is super friendly too!

Little hole in the wall place but kept true to its Hawaiian authenticity. The food was on point. I ordered the Garlic Chicken Loco Moco & was amazing.

Really great grilled meats here. We gad the pork, chicken, and beef. The rest of the menu looks great too. Very friendly customer service.

We were in Bremerton for the weekend and my husband, who was born and raised in Hawaii, is always trying to find good authentic Hawaiian food. This place is it! It’s has that hole in the wall feel but the service is great. The big plates can feed two average eaters easily so sharing is great. I will say that while I enjoyed the mac salad it’s not the typical hawaiian mac my husband is used to but he raved about the rest of the food. And the Lumpia is awesome!

4.5 stars? Really? Come on. I know that there aren’t really that many great options in Bremerton, but to give this place anything above 2 stars would be a lie. Came here because I saw that they had short ribs. Got here and no short ribs. Ok, no problem… I’ll try the teriyaki chicken and pulled pork. They messed up my order. Ok, no worries… I’ll just eat what I have, but I’m so thirsty, where the drink I ordered? Oh, they forgot that too… The food here was really, really, REALLY mediocre at best. Yes, the portions are big, but I didn’t even bother taking anything home with me. Everything was very just«meh». The chicken wasn’t that tender and the kalua pork wasn’t well flavored at all. There is very little seating and the entire restaurant looks pretty dirty and trust me, I’ve gladly eaten at some questionable places. The service was pretty much non existent, but the girls behind the counter were at least pretty nice. I am still in awe that this place is highly rated. Maybe because there is no real competition for Hawaiian food in Bremerton?

The boyfriend and I came here to get some Hawaiian food after we missed our Ferry. The place smells incredible!!! With each passing minute, I got more excited because of all the delicious smells coming out of the kitchen. We got Julie’s Loco Moco and Da Bremerton. Julie’s Loco Moco consisted of two patties and two eggs and was the better of the two plates. We love the char flavor on the patties and combined with the brown gravy… YUM!!! But I wish they separated the mac salad on the plate because the gravy smothered the mac salad and made me a little sad inside because their mac salad is ‘DA’ bomb by itself. With gravy, not too much. Da Bremerton consisted of BBQ short rib, garlic chicken, Kalua pork, and Portuguese sausage. Nothing on this plate was doing it for me except the mac salad which thankfully was not covered in gravy. The BBQ short rib felt like it was cooked and left there all morning, the meat was so chewy… very inedible. I wish the plate had more cabbage to balance out all the meat. You do get a lot for your money but I’m not sure I want all that food if its not all good.

I found this place on a visit to Bremerton and am so happy that I did! Located just a short walk from the ferry dock, Kama’Aina is a real treasure. In spite of a large crowd and long line, I waited only a few minutes before being helped. By the time my food was ready, there was plenty of room to grab a seat at a table. The food was truly wonderful! I had the Bremerton combo… a container packed full of Kalua pork, Portuguese sausage, garlic chicken, grilled pork, mac salad and rice… all for $ 10.75! Just as good as the food was the attitude and vibe of the place. The three guys behind the counter were friendly and welcoming, making it even more of a pleasure to dine there. If you are visiting Bremerton, this place is a can’t miss!

This place is totally awesome. These guys have excellent loving energy. The food is your typical awesome Hawaiian food, comfort food, and they do it really really well. I really love their simple Hawaiian breakfast with Portuguese sausage two scoops of rice eggs over easy and the mac salad. I didn’t even like max salad until I came to this place. This comfort food really does the trick when you’re ready to head back to Seattle on the ferry. Peace out fellow Unilocalians!

My boyfriend and I did a spontaneous trip to Gig harbor/Bremerton and found this place for lunch. We went on a pretty slow day and our meals came out within 15 minutes. We were entranced by the smell that this place emitted. It’s definitely a hole in the wall and felt very authentic. I wanted to get the crispy chicken dish but they were out that day. I was so sad because it looked so good! No worries, I got the chicken katsu curry which was pretty good! My boyfriend got the Loco Moco which was spot on. The staff were very friendly and even the cook asked us if we enjoyed our meal. I really liked the Hawaiian Sun drinks and didn’t know that Lilikoi is passion fruit flavor! Delicious. Both of us couldn’t finish our meals and they made great leftovers. The prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend!

This place is amazing! AMAZING! We were in the area for a wedding later that day but not wanting to be late and worried about the ferry(we’re from out of town) we left a bit earlier and had some lunch here. We had never, ever had Hawaiian food before so imagine our surprise when we started digging in. This place had some fresh food. We waited about 15 minutes for our order because everything was made/grilled to order. We got the Pearl Harbor platter that had a bit of everything. WEATEITALL. Even the garnish cabbage we ate. We just soaked it in the sauce at the bottom of the take out container. We couldn’t help ourselves. It was the most delicious thing we had. Probably one of the top meals on our vacation. It was life changing. And now we’re back in Texas… where no Hawaiian places really exist. This makes me sad. If you’re in the area then do yourself a favor and eat here! Its delicious and local. Why not support local?!

This place was an amazing surprise. I haven’t been to many Hawaiian places but this was easily the best. The staff are friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes, and the food was delicious. I came on a Tuesday and had the Flo combo with Hulli chicken, BBQ pork, BBQ need and kalua shredded pork, along with a side of mac and cheese. Everything was spectacular! Usually I try different restaurants every night when I travel, but I came back in Thursday to try their ahi poke; half a pound of fresh raw tuna with some onion, scallion, rice and a special sauce consisting mostly of soy and sesame sauces. The cook talked to me while preparing it, and asked how I felt about excessive soy use. When I agreed, he lightly sauced the dish, which was definitely the right choice. I didn’t set my spoon down until every grain was finished! As I sat there listening to other patron’s orders I decided to try a musubi as well. Made of rice, spam and wrapped in seaweed, fans of Japanese snacks will see a relation to onigiri. I ate it quickly and ordered two more to go! This food is authentic and cheap, the staff is friendly, and its made quickly. If you come to Bremerton without stopping by, you’ve wasted your trip.

I caught them at the Polynesian Festival put on by Uwajimaya in Renton. They have a small plate lunch operation in downtown Bremerton. They are not affiliated with Kama-Aina in Everett, which we love. The Huli Huli Chicken was very good, the best I’ve had in Washington — probably because it was freshly grilled on charcoal. Mac salad was good too. Lumpia was a fail, all I could taste was cabbage. They will be on my list for when I go to Bremerton.

I spent 17 years of my life in Hawaii. When I lived there, I was a very picky eater. I was too stubborn to try new, different foods, and I believe I suffered because of it. As I’ve gotten older(and moved away from Hawaii…), I’ve severely broadened my horizons and eat just about everything. So am I ever glad to have a place like Kama’aina Grill serving up da ono grinds I foolishly missed out on growing up. I will say that I have actually eaten quite a few items on their menu(when I was forced to as a kid) and though I didn’t like it back then, I do now, AND I can say this is the real deal, the legit shit. Best huli huli chicken. Best musubi. My fellow craves their loco moco constantly, and recently had it with the Portuguese sausage and loved it even more than before. To this day, I still don’t eat mac salad, potato salad, etc. The goopy kind full of mayo and bleh. However, I finally broke down and tried Kama’aina Grill’s version and I gotta say, I will eat it all day every day — from them — ’cause they got a bomb recipe. Also, super affordable. Large portions. Way friendly staff. It makes the local part of this haole girl soar. Kinda glad they’re in Bremerton and I’m in Port Orchard. We’d be on a first name basis otherwise…
