Stopped on a return trip from Pittsburgh were the highlight was supposed to be a Primanti brothers sandwich. This turned out to be the highlight. Turkey & Cheddar was fantastic! Sublicity deserves more business. Primantis was a big disappointment.

YUM! Found this gem of a sandwich shop because we needed a Starbucks fix. Saw this place next door and they advertised Boars Head meats. Went in and found a very clean and inviting counter with the owners ready to serve. A guy in line told me I would not be disappointed in anything they make and he was right. I had a ¼ lb. Turkey and provolone sandwich with my selection of toppings. It was perfect size and ohhh soooo flavorful. Messy to eat in the car, but that really couldn’t be helped. I wouldn’t recommend it for the road though. Take a few extra minutes to sit in the dining area so you can enjoy your fresh food.

Stopped here on my way to Pittsburgh for a quick bite to eat. Simple menu made it easy to make a decision. Service was fast and efficient. Subs were delicious and the meat was really flavorful. Not many places do shredded lettuce anymore and I love it on subs.

I’d say Subplicity is more like Subpar. Was looking for a half-way lunch spot to meet my son between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Chose this place based on Unilocal reviews. Soda machine was out of order(sorry for the inconvenience) and grill was shut down at noon(no explanation), so no hot choices. Sandwiches were ok, nothing special.

So I’m on the road with my boyfriend when I become very hungry. We’re vegetarian so options can be kinda slim. I found this sub shop that had a vegetarian and ooooman I almost cried when I looked into my hands to find nothing. I think I swallowed it whole. I’m pretty sure I could have eaten an entire foot long but I guess that’s not lady like. Mushrooms cooked in Italian dressing sautéed onions and I think it was provolone? Anywhos, amazing sub.

Phenomenal little spot on the I-70 interchange from MD to PA. Club sandwich was phenomenal and they only use boars head. Highly recommend

Amazing service. The name defines the store but not the owner and the shop. The owner is super friendly and out of this world. He cares about his customers and you will know exactly what I am talking about if you meet him. Definitely will recommend to stop by this place!

The reviews don’t lie, this place is fantastic. This is easily the best place to eat in the little two block radius that houses the usual truck stop eateries.

Small menu, quality meats, all made to order by friendly folks. Clean and bright, too. Rolls are sadly very soft. Combinations aren’t too sophisticated, and if you aren’t careful they’ll slather everything with mayonnaise, but what do you expect for Breezewood. Just order carefully and you’ll get a nice sandwich.

Breezewood, Pa is rather like a desert oasis in ancient Mesopotamia. That is, you’d rather not stop there, due to the fact that it’s a depressing, over-priced traveler’s trap, at which you’re as likely to be accosted as you are to have a decent meal. But its convenient location and status as the last suitable stop before the mountains of Maryland will suck you in. We stop here at least twice each year on our journey to and from the in-laws in Annapolis. And prior to our discovery of Subplicity, the only place that my wife would agree to stop is at the Starbucks(well run, clean, and convenient, btw). We tracked down Sublicity, based on the good ratings on Unilocal, and through no help of my GPS(the address didn’t register), and enjoyed our meal. The help is super friendly-especially the Asian dude who described in detail, all of his favorites– and the subs were fresh and tasty(100% Boar’s Head-you can’t go wrong). The frightening aspect is the house keeping, or lack thereof. When I walked in to the place, I immediately noticed two hunks of unwrapped, unsliced meat sitting below the meat slicer. I thought to myself that that slicer must be out of service, because they would never let meat sit, at room temperature, on an active slicer. I was wrong, that is the slicer that was used for our subs, and the meat stayed put. Additionally, the men’s bathroom door was broken, in a slightly open orientation, and the interior of the bathroom would have rankled even the most grizzled restaurant inspector. Finally, there is a general untidiness to the place. Anyway, great subs and service, scary facility.

Almost went to subway but decided to go here. Best decision we’ve made in a while… Really good food and service. Thanks!

Very very good subs! They are simple(get it, wink wink) but get it right. I absolutely love the hot pepper relish, and my boyfriend loves their spicy mustard. They give fairly generous portions. I do wish they had more choices of sides(only a couple choices of chips or cookies). The service was VERYVERY slow, or I would give them 5 stars. We really wanted to get on the road right away, but had to wait about 20 minutes for what we thought would be quick subs in and out the door.

This is absolutely(in my opinion) the best place to stop for something to eat in Breezewood! In a field of greasy, not to mention gross, fast food, Subplicity uses fresh Boars head meats, fresh(er) ingredients than a typical chain, and has homemade soups as well if that’s more up your alley. The sandwiches are made-to-order and leaps and bounds above Subway. They do serve breakfast sandwiches all day, and have a variety of other meats and cheeses to choose from too. I went with a turkey sub, pepperjack cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and banana peppers with honey mustard sauce. It was fresh but skimpy on the toppings and they don’t toast it so no melted cheese. My boyfriend had an egg, ham, and cheese on wheat. They forgot the cheese but noticed it before he took a bite and remade his sandwich for him. If this place was anywhere else, it would be a solid 2.5 stars, but, due to the location where you have your choice of McDonalds, Subway, Perkins, or Bob Evans, this sure did beat all of those options so I feel it can be a three star review given the circumstances.

Subplicity is one of the best sandwich shops I’ve ever been to. Fresh subs, great customer service in a clean environment. They will accommodate your special sandwich needs for those true sub eaters. I got a turkey & roast beef with provolone & a honey ham & prosciutto with munster. Hell yea

Great option instead of fast food. We wanted something that wasn’t greasy but still fast so we can continue on our road trip. A sub shop set up like a grocery store with boar’s head meat. Friendly staff that asked if this was our first time and went ahead to explain the menu. Subs were good, I gave them four stars because the subs were kind of small for eight bucks. They also don’t have a changing table in the restroom.

Great sandwiches. Good variety and they don’t skimp on the meat. 6″ was more than enough for lunch. Staff was very friendly That said. For a restaurant at a major interstate intersection it really needs to have a changing table. That is what cost them a 5th star.

Subplicity: What a beautiful, beautiful thing. On a road trip with greasy fast-food chains on-top of one another fighting for real estate, stands Subplicity. A small franchise, hidden next to a Starbucks. While filling up for gas, our curiosity got the best of us, and Subplicity was the lunch spot we settled on. What a fantastic idea. The layout is similar to a deli counter in any grocery store. The meat and cheese are in a glass case for the customers to see, and the slicers are behind the counter. The menu is large, with many Italian variations to choose from. Hubby chose a cheese steak, and I chose a turkey. As delicious as the cheese steak was, the turkey was just downright memorable. These sandwiches are HUGE so do come hungry and expect a large amount of food. There is no need to describe in further detail other than to say: go. This is fresh, delicious, made-to-order and refreshing.

Well this started as a good idea. Just got off the expressway on the way home from vacation. The menu looked good with a nice selection of sandwiches and salads. They even serve Boars Head meats. Great. I ordered the C5 sandwich. My wife orders a turkey sandwich. Just turkey. It took them 25 minutes to make our sandwiches. I have never seen a sandwich place so poorly run. If we had come in and it was packed I could understand. They served 2 people in the whole time I was waiting. So disappointed. Anything else would have been better.

FINALLY! We’ve been driving through Breezewood for decades and have never found a truly good place to eat — until NOW. Subplicity is the kind of place where you can grab a truly great sandwich for a reasonable price. You can eat in the clean, friendly environment — or you can take it to go(after the driver eats — sandwiches are too stuffed with DELIciousness to eat while driving!) My C5 was good, my mom’s cheesesteak equally so. Vegetarian options are lacking, but they will accomodate you in any way they can. They even turned the radio down so my mom could hear them more clearly(although it wasn’t too loud). Breakfast sandwiches available all day. Peppy, friendly, fast and tasty — as long as this place is here, we won’t go anywhere else in Breezewood! Highly recommended — and right next door to Starbucks. Definitely worth a try!

Refreshing to find a place in breezewood that is not only welcoming and friendly but serving up really great food. My cheesesteak was fantastic, the table also raved about the bacon egg and cheese, ham and cheese, and the pastrami sandwich. I would like to see more bread options like rye(hello, hot pastrami and Swiss on rye!). That said, this is, hands down, the best option right now for a meal at breezewood! We will be back!
