Nothing special. We were starving and they were the only restaurant without a wait so we decided to try it. The service was good but the food was overpriced and mediocre. There are many better options in Breckenridge

We stopped in for a quick happy hour drink before dinner. The dining room downstairs was empty but the upstairs bar was hoppin’. This is most definitely a locals hangout. Several groups seemed to know each other and the friendly bartenders knew everyone. I think my HH wine was $ 5 for the house chardonnay, which was just perfect after a day of walking around town. The bar has lots of big TVs and seems like a great place to watch football. I hope the local crew gathered there during Super Bowl 50 to watch the Broncos win their third Lombardi trophy! This building is definitely a unique town landmark. I was only slightly disappointed that it’s a replica of one of the actual dredges used during Breck’s gold mining days but it still has a really cool history. Apparently, the wreckage of the real dredge sits in the river silt directly underneath what we see today. And they claim it’s the world’s highest floating restaurant, so how could you not go check it out?

Very slow service, but good food. My steak was very under cooked then over cooked. However the sides and sauce were great!

Promptly seated us, service was excellent, drinks were delicious, food was great. We will definitely be back and are sorry we didn’t know about the Dredge in prior visits.

Local here! Disregard the naysayers! This place is great and definitely a locals favorite! Menu changes with the seasons to incorporate fresh ingredients. Great HH(get he mussels! Yum!!) You wont be disappointed! Dinner. Get the Steak or seafood penne — so delicious! After dinner sneak up to the bar and hang out where the locals do!

Great food, service, location and prices! We had a great time celebrating New Years and a birthday at The Dredge. Would highly recommend their lobster ravioli, King Crab legs and butternut squash soup! Great time and experience!

This place is really quite good. I have eaten there twice and both times the service and food were both excellent. My water glass never got below ¾ full because of the terrific and attentive wait staff. I will return again!

Started off on the wrong foot and things only got worse. Hostess announced that it was the waitresses’ first night on the job and it showed, but worse, the manager/hostess and rest of the staff offered her no support. Shame on them! Took 15 minutes to get drinks. Bread was served AFTER we finished the meal. Waitress took 2nd drink order, then forgot what we ordered after 5 minutes and came back to ask what we had ordered. Took another 30 minutes to get food served. Three times during the meal, we had to go to the hostess who apologized and put blame on the waitress being new. Waiter that was supposedly shadowing the waitress did nothing to help her and, he too, also forgot when we asked for something for the table. And this all occurred on a slow Monday night when there was no excuse for suspect service. Poor service + average food = experience sure to forgot… or at least try to forget.

The best part of this restaurant was the view of the mountain side. I had the lemon garlic pasta. Which had a little too much lemon juice in it. Borderline to the point of too sour. This place is a bit pricey for the quality of food in my opinion. The bread was pretty good though. My friend got a beer spilt on her and nothing was comped which was pretty bad. I go up to Breckenridge once a year and can honestly say, there are better restaurants.

Had dinner here tonight and we’re very unimpressed. Visits here in previous years the food wad great So we were disappointed. Tough steak. onion skins in the mushrooms and onions. Trout wad so so. Saving grace were the old fashioneds. It’s a shame that our next trip to breckenridge will not include the dredge. I will say that the service was really good.

The shrimp cocktail was overcooked. The tomato basil soup tasted like tomato paste from a can with sprinkles of basil. The NY strip was dry and tasteless. The salmon was overcooked. The service was good once she actually got to us. Location on the river is great, but the food is well overpriced considering its lack of quality. With so many good restaurants in Breckenridge, look elsewhere!

Our server Peter was outstanding but, management is AWFUL! Appetizers were good(fried calamari and mussels in yellow curry). The entrees were less impressive. Several of us in the party got the surf & turf and experienced overcooked steaks and crab legs. Overall the food was ok, nothing impressive. During cleanup of our food, one of the bussers spilled almost a full plate of mussel curry broth all over my husbands pants. When the manager came out to address the situation, she was rude, accusatory, and simply put did NOT take ownership of the mistake. She instead tried to accuse my husband of yelling at her when he simply said he did not think her bringing out a small hand towel and saying it was a mistake was acceptable. He never raised his voice with her and our whole party was in agreement that she handled the situation beyond poorly. Definitely not mature or in anyway shape or form a manager. I am from Chicago and dine out frequently and with any situation like this it would be commonplace for the management to be extremely apologetic, take ownership of the mistake, and offer some form of redemption in taking care of cleaning, comping something, etc. She was the complete opposite and was even trying to place blame on us for not reacting favorably to her lack of appropriate action. Unbelievable! We were out for the evening and my husband had to leave right after dinner because the smell and stain(mussel curry sauce!!!) on his pants was so bad. This ruined our plan for the rest of the evening on the last night in Breck. Thanks a lot for the wonderful dining experience(add sarcastic tone)! Whoever owns the restaurant needs to take action and rethink their management staff. If you were dining there, would you think the way of handling that situation was appropriate?

Cool place nice people, but my drink was 2.50 and when served i got told they had no quarters and they charged me 3.00…no 50 cents is not a big deal but when you have a change machine at the bar you should not use the excuse that you are out of change

This place is terrible. The best meals our party of ten received were a shade below average. The worst? A shrimp pasta came with clear, raw shrimp. To replace it, we ordered a tortilla soup, with no sour cream or cheese, because my sister(who got the raw shrimp) is allergic. Her soup came with cheese and sour cream. She didn’t eat dinner. In response, they were kind enough to «comp» the raw shrimp and improper soup. Awesome. DONTEATHERE, no matter how tempting the floating barge looks to your children.

Good service, great view, good food. A bit over the top but one of the best ways to enjoy the river in the middle of mountain town.

One of my favorite happy hour spots in town. Awesome bartenders, great specials with pool and darts to boot. Sitting on the deck on a sunny afternoon is one of my favorite things to do. I wish I could say this place sucks to keep everyone away but I can’t.

The appetizers were great(fried calamari, mussels in yellow curry, and spin/art dip with toast points). Our entrees were underwhelming. The second course(Beer cheese soup) was a total fail. Two of our party order the bowls and returned them both. The soup, typically a rich, thick consistency, was thin and so heavy handed with bacon bits that it resembled a breakfast gravy. Honestly, if this was slathered over some drop biscuits I’d rave about it for weeks. Since the dish was supposed to be beer cheese soup, it was not palatable. Fortunately, both bowls were taken off the bill. All six entrees were acceptable. Nothing really to write home about and certainly none of them were worth recommending to out-of-towners. The restaurant itself has a neat little history. Being an actual boat in the center of Breckenridge is a pretty cool feature and exclusive to this place only.

Do not eat here. Period. We made the mistake of not making reservations for dinner on a Saturday night. Every place was booked until 9pm. Instead of walking all over town we went to the Open Table app. This place had a few spots and we ate here. The fact that they had some spots should have been our clue. I got the seafood pasta and a salad to start. My friend got the walnut, apple, chicken salad. She stated the chicken was dry. Mine all tasted ok but nothing special. The issue was two hours later when I spent the rest of the night in the toilet. Terrible. Something made me really sick. Next time we will go get a snack at the store and wait for a late dinner vs. eating here. Service was so so. Didn’t do anything wrong but didn’t blow us away either. Honestly, the fact that I got so sick is the major issue. Stay away.

Spend your $$$$ elsewhere. Way too high of prices for mediocre food. We wanted good steaks and one was over cooked and one was WAY under cooked. The waitress Gwen was nice but had a hard time keeping our water glasses full.(Maybe we drink more than the average). The hostess Victoria was extremely rude to the table behind us. She brought out a plate of food for one diner and set it down where she thought it went. The other guests told her that it wasn’t for that person. She rudely replied, «I didn’t take the orders; I’m just bringing food out!» The atmosphere was charming and we enjoyed the photos and history! We love anything having to do with gold retrieval.

The Dredge is a nice restaurant to come to for a more romantic, quiet evening in their downstairs dining room. I came here last weekend and had a great experience. Our extremely nice and knowledgeable waitress started us off with a bottle of Pinot Noir to begin our night. We then ordered the Calmari for an appetizer. The calamari was buttery and lightly fried, which is the way I like it. The only thing is that I would have preferred a more tomato based sauce instead of the tartar and sweet/spicy sauce the calamari was accompanied with. All in all, it was good, but the chef should think about another dipping sauce option. For the entrée, I ordered the Ruby Red Trout after discussing with the waitress on how much I do not like goat cheese. She assured me that the goat cheese sauce was a mild addition that wasn’t too potent for the fish. The trout was blackened nicely with a thin layered crust that gave it a crunch. The trout came with mixed vegetables and rice, which were both good. I also had some of the Alaskan King Crab and it was light and enjoyable. If I were in the area again, I would definitely plan to visit The Dredge again.
