My husband raved so much about the pork chop, I couldn’t believe it. It was the best he’s ever had in his life, etc. We go to a lot of restaurants and he hardly ever raves about anything. I had the scallops special which was amazing, but noodles were too salty. Daughters split the ramen, and they ate every morsel and drop. Great service, casual, but hip atmosphere. Loved it!

Strolling on Main Street found this place. Ordered couple of cocktails with Bourbon and a Paloma. Great tasting cocktails. For starters, we ordered the Carne Asada(delicious) and Yellow Tail Poke(nice flavor with a spicy mango sauce) The Sirloin for entrée was a winner but the swordfish entrée was extremely under seasoned. Overall nice little place for fun cocktails. Excellent service!

A nice place to eat or drink. Great location, great happy hour special, and really good food. We’ve been a few times and its always been delicious. The chef strives to produce more upscale dishes(like the roasted bone marrow) that you would find at places like Blue Ribbon or Crispo in NYC and he succeeds.

My favorite part of Modis is the drink menu. So many yummy and unique cocktails.!! The drinks are a bit pricey but worth it if you enjoy a good drink. The Crispy Duck Appetizer was also amazing. But as far as dinner entrees, I thought it was just ok. I had the salmon special which was tasty but extremely salty. The other member of my part order the scallops which were good but the sauce was very rich. Overall I would come for drinks and maybe appetizer but skip dinner!

We lucked out, a table opened just as we walked in. I had the lettuce wraps, which were fantastic. Simple, but unique the tofu was crisped perfectly. The hubs definitely won the order off though, he had a grilled cauliflower steak on grains with a sweet potato reduction, so warm and filling after a day in the snow. The flavors were complex and had a pleasant mouth feel.

Fabulous find! This place was suggested by my friend, a local in Breckenridge. We loved it. We started with a delicious chicken curry soup and a duck leg. Both were fabulous! Then we moved on to the paok chop and roasted chicken. They were both so good. Chicken and pork were both cooked to perfection. The chicken had an adian twist and was served over noodles with broccolini and baby bok choy and the presentation was beautiful. See my picture! It’s calling your name huh! The pork chop was cooked perfectly and stayed juicy until the last bite. Not easy to do with pork. It was accompanied by grits and a wonderful salad with balsamic dressing. Just perfect. My friends all raved about the good as well. The salmon looked delicious. We topped it all off with a delightful flourless chocolate cake. Wonderful. Staff was friendly and knowledge. Place was clean. Sit upstairs if you can. The ambiance is mucho better. Place is a hit on my book!

Wide range of dishes and all were close to perfect — or better than perfect. Cioppino, beet salad, miso soup, and scallops. The braised Lamb shank was the best. It was cooked to perfection. Like the cioppino, the flavors were excellent. The place was busy. They seated us with a smile and without reservation. When the barkeep noticed she was busy and we were waiting, he helped out. Five stars all around. One last thing, amazing whiskey list and the prices were just high enough to keep out riff raff and all but the better heeled children.

Awesome happy hour. Great craft cocktails in a very retro bar setting. They have a second level and an rooftop patio for the summer months. The menu looks great. We will have to return.

We didn’t expect to find any seating at Modis on a Saturday night, but were only in town for the weekend so we had nothing to loose. Arriving to a packed scene we put our names down for a bar table, whose patrons didn’t appear to be in the least bit interested in leaving, even after a 25 minute wait. However, on the 26th minute, serendipity ensued! Our hostess asked us if we could be finished with our meals within an hour-and-a-half, as another couple was dining at 9:30pm, to which I responded«No problemo!» Prior to being seated we passed the time watching very entertaining drink mixologists prepare some fanciful cocktails from some that were oozing with smoke to others that were colorful and ones that were set aflame! We watched while we sipped on a couple of classic margaritas. I would say the bar is well stocked and could mix up just about anything you desire, even if its shaken Not stirred. At our table the lighting was intimately dimmed. We ordered the Scottish Salmon and the Curry Ramen, Modis apparently is famous for their ramen-noodle dishes. I would say the entrée dishes are slightly smaller, so you will want to order some additional appetizers, which we did not. However, everything looked top notch and service was also very quick and friendly.

We live here in breck, and it was our first time going to modis. It is absolutely worth the wait. The bar is excellent, along with the very long list of very craft cocktails. They have a wonderful wine selection as well. We started with a charcuterie board(one of the best we’ve ever had– it’s a huge portion) as well as a cup of their vanilla porter stew(also amazing). For entrees, he had the pork chop which he loved(but it was a huge portion) and I had the ramen which was excellent. We will absolutely be coming back! Oh, also they had a live DJ(Saturday night) whom was excellent!

This place is dead-on if you’re looking for stellar food and incredible cocktails, however they do seem to be suffering from a bit of an identity crisis. They play loud club-like music, likely to set the tone for their bar patrons but unfortunately due to the open layout, especially upstairs, you will not find yourself having a quiet or peaceful meal. I guess I just prefer my upscale meals to not mean I have to shout to be heard by my fellow table mates. And certainly do not come here for a romantic evening, for the same reason! Having said all that though, the food was spectacular! They have a limited menu, which I love, and everything we ordered from apps to entrees had beautiful presentation and even generous portions. Between our table of 5, we had the Smoked Pork Chop, the Salmon(fish special of the night), and Steak. The 3 of us who had the Smoked Pork Chops were blown away! It was HUGE, and absolutely perfectly cooked. The chorizo scallion grits with it were super delicious and a great compliment, along with the arugula salad. And the person who ordered the salmon said it was the best she had ever had– and that’s saying a lot since she eats out coast to coast more than she eats in. Our server Jess was an absolute delight and we really loved her energy. We did have some lag time between drinks and courses, and it would have been nice to enjoy some conversation during those times but that was unfortunately impossible due to the insanely loud music playing. If they can decide if they want to be a dance club or a fine dining establishment, and choose to tone down the music, then I would have easily given 5 stars. I don’t need stuffy and pretentious to enjoy a fine meal, but I also don’t want to be torn between trying to find a dance floor(there isn’t one) and shouting at my table mates to attempt conversation. Come here for the food and drinks, but only if you don’t actually want to talk to the people you come with.

This is probably the best dining option in Breck. Solid artfully crafted cocktails, excellent service, great looking building and venue, large portions with excellent care and ingredients make this a winner. Sticky Korean BBQ ribs w/Kimche cornbread for an appetizer and Ramen for the entrée. The appetizer portion of the ribs is HUGE and the kimche cornbread was moist and tasty. The ramen noodles were flavorful, perfectly cooked and the broth was not overly salted. The only fault is the pork was a bit overdone, but with the remainder of the dish and experience so well executed I’m still giving 5-stars to Modis. We had dinner @ Hearthstone 2 nights prior and I can honestly say for the $$, this is a better value.

So good! Our friend knew the owner and helped us pick out some yummy stuff! Apps: bone marrow delicious! Cheese and meat plate was huge and very good. Tuna sashimi tender and delicious. For dinner I had the Ramen and it was HUGE and so good. Didn’t get through half of it. All the craft cocktails were great as well. If I lived here I would come here all the time!

So far I have been here twice in the last few years for their Happy Hour — drinks and appetizers. Have yet to eat lunch or dinner here but will sometime as we frequent Breck. I want to give them 5 stars for their drinks and food but am giving a 4 because of their hostess. Maybe next time I can upgrade them… We got there at 4:30-their bar was full as their happy hour runs from 3 – 6. The hostess seemed so unexcited to see us. Said since they were so busy she supposed we could sit in the table area but we had to be out of there by 5:30 as she had reservations. I get that. I get that they get lots of tourists(some maybe rude) and that they need to take care of their dinner people but she didn’t have to be so unwelcoming and their happy hour did run till 6… Things got better with our waitress. She was great and super helpful as they have an extensive cocktail menu. My friend and I wanted a vodka cocktail so she recommended the«Northern Lights”-it was really good-vodka, blackberry(had our choice of different flavors) and St. Germaine foam on top. Very unique! Loved it! My husband had the«berries and barbs» –it was like an old fashioned-cognac with rhubarb bitters. I tasted it and it was very good but I liked mine better! My friend’s husband had a beer-they had lots to choose from. For an appetizer we split the mushroom risotto fritters with some kind of truffle crème sauce. Oh my it was super super good. It was exquisite flavors, textures, everything! We are obsessed with truffles ever since we went on the truffle hunt in Italy(I did a review about them-Savini Tartufi — ) . So we did enjoy our food and drink, just got off to a little bit of a rough start…

I came here strictly to drink and was blown away by their drink menu. First off it’s packed with options. And secondly it is(my favorite) mixologist style drinks. I’m sure many bartenders will argue that they are mixologists however I’ve only been to a handful of places that take pride In Their drinks and know how to make anything perfectly. The drink list had every kind of drink imaginable with different mixes that included fresh ingredients. I had a gin drink that had a minty flavor. It was delicious. My hubby had a rum mixed fruit drink also delicious. The woman sitting next to him had a meal and oh man did it look good. If we weren’t just bar hopping I would of eaten there. She had some sort of lamb chop. I took a photo of it with her permission of course. She ate it all with a smile so my assumption was that it was tasty. I recommend this place to have a nice dinner or have delicious creative cocktails.

After a long day of snowboarding in Keystone, I was excited to try this place out. Both the atmosphere and the menu looked fab, and the fact that it’s in the adorable town of Breck, I was ready to be blown away. Based off the Unilocal Reviews(because you guys never steer me wrong. right?) I got the ramen. At first, I was thinking, $ 22 ramen. this must be amazing, right? Why would all these Unilocalers love this ramen? But I quickly made the decision to get it and provide my own opinion. Started with the beef tartare, because by now my fellow Unilocalers, you should know that Charlene L LOVES her beef tartare. Although portioned quite small, the flavor was amazing! I appreciate how there was a bit of arugula to cut through the garlic caper aioli, as it was a nice balance. Now for the main event, the $ 22 bowl of ramen. and yes I do have to quote the price each time I talk about it. Bite after bite I was looking for something to stand out, but I was disappointed each time, especially as my bowl came to an end. The noodle texture was highly unlike anything close to that chewy authentic ramen bite, and the broth was overly salty, I didn’t know if was to continue to even drink it or if I should add warm water to dilute it. The pork butt was tender and tasty, but nothing mind blowing, and the pork belly was a bit on the dry side. The most exciting part of all ramen experiences are the egg, and to my surprise it was the most disappointing part of this dish. The egg appeared to be a soaked tea egg, but was overly salty, and served overcooked. It was basically an overly soy-soaked hard boiled egg. On a cold day on the slopes I would definitely overpay for a good bowl of ramen. But if you’re going to overcharge it, at least get it right in at least 1) quantity and/or 2) flavor. Ramen 9602, you have failed me. Please Unilocalers, do me and your taste buds a favor; do not get the ramen 9602 if you’ve ever had a decent bowl of ramen before. You and your wallet will be highly disappointed.

We had just come from a sandwich shop down the street with broken spirits. My husband somewhat satisfied, and myself starving after a long day on the slopes. It was happy hour so we checked out that menu and got some Parmesan truffle fries. They are also gluten free. Which is awesome because my husband is celiac. They were delicious I ordered the Pork chop. It is now in my top 5 all time favorite meals. And I have eaten some of the best cuisine in the country. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was so helpful and energetic. Her name is Jess. She’s lovely. We will be back!

Today is my birthday so I chose Modis as my «go-to» favorite place in Breckenridge for my Hubs and I to enjoy a nice Happy Hour with cocktails at the bar. This is the first time out of probably a dozen visits I have been disappointed. Although my Perfect Manhattan Martini, straight-up, was perfect, it was smaller in quantity than usual, not filling the glass. Delicious, nonetheless. However, I don’t believe I’ve ever experienced feeling as neglected as we were by both bartenders, female this time, even though we were seated directly center at the bar. Our two bartenders spoke to one another, conversed to one another, interacted with the wait staff effectively, yet equally effectively ignored the guests. We had to wave one of them down to order another drink and happy hour food. It’s definitely a first in our experience with our favorite bar in Breckenridge. We have HIGHLYRECOMMENDEDMODIS to many friends and strangers… as a matter of fact, we recommended Modis today to couple we just met downtown… how about it! They showed up at the bar sitting right next to us. My husband even tried to enquire of Rachel regarding some of the liquor served in the bar, she was short, a bit un-informative, and quickly removed herself from the convo to go clear a table in a mostly empty bar. Nikol was quite a bit more personable. Perhaps the girls were too distracted trying to concoct a new original cocktail to interact with customers… anyway, we were a bit saddened this visit, but we still love Modis. The good news is, a fun couple of very friendly strangers arrived and sat right next to us to liven things up as the dinner crowd appeared. Thanks, Y’all! Moral of the story is… every customer counts. Remember that, Modis. We send a lot of customers your way.
