Just because you have a disability, don’t let it hold you from participating in outdoor recreational activities such as skiing, snowboarding, whitewater rafting, etc. The BOEC specializes in helping those with disabilities experience the same kind of fun as any other person – the instructors are highly trained to work with people of all abilities. I’ve used their adaptive ski school to try both skiing and snowboarding, and I was able to ski and board almost as well as a sighted beginner even with my vision impairment. Jeff was my ski instructor, and Wendy was my snowboard instructor. Everyone is understanding, courteous, motivational, and skilled. The fees include one-​on-​one (sometimes even two-​on-​one) instruction, a lift ticket, and equipment rental. There is financial aid available for those who qualify. I love, love, love the mission behind this organization and have them to thank for such a good time at Breckenridge and Keystone.
