The seafood here is good fresh seasoned to order. The atmosphere is nice well decorated. I definitely recommend the garlic wings.

I live in Diamond Bar and this new place Mad Claw caught my eyes while I was visiting downtown Brea on wednesday! Personally, I love seafood and cajun sauce so I went with my mom and my brother and my family and I really loved it!!! Menus are really simple and great that you almost don’t need servers to explain the entire thing even though you are visiting the restaurant for the first time. They have crafted beers and varities of draft beers that I’ve never heard of before!!! And most of all, shrimp and scallops are highly recommended! Shrimp and cajun sauces are perfect combination for me and I really enjoyed mild flavor of the sauce! I would comeback for sure just for this amazing cajun seafood.

Very satisfied with my experience here. I’ve tried the one in Rancho Cucamonga and the Brea one didn’t fail me either. The quality of seafood was very high and all the kitchen food was very tasty. My boyfriend and I ordered king crab and we were genuinely surprised by its size and how fresh it was! They do have a pretty extensive dink menu here. They had cool decorations according to the theme and every part of the restaurant seemed very detail oriented and squeaky clean especially the bathroom(clean bathrooms are always a plus). I would highly recommend this spot if you are around the area!

Went here to try their seafood gumbo a week ago. I got it to-go and the portion was very small for $ 10.50. It was as much as a normal size can of Cambell’s soup and it taste bland like store bought soup too; very little flavor, tiny chunks of sausage, and 2 shrimp. Very poor showing. Certainly not worth $ 10.50. I could have bought a box of Zataran’s gumbo mix and some sausage, which would have cost less, taste better, and I would have lots of leftovers. I like Cajun food, so I hope this place improves.

Amongst the abundance of cajun eat-with-you-hands seafood spots, lies The Mad Claw which just opened its doors in Downtown Brea right next to the parking structure. This Korean-owned establishment, that owns another location in Rancho Cucamonga, offers a whole array of beers to choose from(bottles and draft) and a familiar style of food as other cajun seafood restaurants. As I was impressed by the beer selection, I opted out on it this time but will get one on my next visit here. Draft craft beers can be found at $ 5 a cup. So instead of the beers, we got pink lemonade and a fountain drink(**FREE when you check in!**) You can also ask for your drink to-go when you’re finished! For appetizers, I ordered the cajun fries. This was good but you have to eat it quick because when it gets cold, it no longer tastes good. I’m okay with eating cold fries sometimes but these fries especially, I couldn’t eat. For the main course, we ordered 2 pounds crawfish, full house sauce, crazy spicy($ 10.95/lb) and 1 pound of shrimp, full house sauce, medium spicy($ 10.95/lb) with sausage($ 2). The breakdown: Seafood: **Make sure to ask if the crawfish is live or not** Very important! I’m pretty picky about my crawfish because I will only eat it when it’s live, not frozen. Plus they still charge you about $ 10 a pound for frozen, which I don’t think is worth it at all. After finding out the crawfish is frozen, I opted in for shrimp. They were a good size. Sausage: The sausage is 1 link cut up into 5 pieces. I would probably skip on this next time. It was decent but I’ve had better sausage(LOL). Spice level: Medium spice is like a mild, next time I will order the hot. Not having the right spice level for me kinda made my food less enjoyable. I need it to make my mouth burn a little bit more. Crazy spicy is actually pretty spicy so I don’t really recommend this unless you want your mouth to be so numb that you can’t feel the burn anymore or if you can handle spicy pretty well. If crazy spicy was how it is, I don’t want to know how 911 tastes. Full house sauce: What I like about Mad Claw is that they are not stingy on their sauce! I actually like their sauce, very tasty. I hope they don’t skimp on it further down the line because this is one of their main strengths. Pros: — Nice restaurant, very clean and inviting — Our waitress Brady was on point! Wonderful customer service and always refilling my drink. — Gives a lot of sauce, good options for spice levels and pretty tasty — Large variety of drinks and fried food to choose from Cons: — Frozen crawfish for regular price — No free corn or potato when you order a certain amount of pounds or more like other places The Mad Claw, we shall meet again!

We just checked this place today. It’s been a while since they closed last sushi place and open new business. My family loves Cajun seefood specially my kids. We ordered 2lb shrimps combo with 2lb extra shrimps… we love shrimp. It was fresh and spicy right on the money. My sons love it. The service was good. Hopefully they have some extra breads we can eat with the shrimps… We will come back with my parents.
