Nice and seemingly-family-owned-ish business. Always see the sign on the 57 south and tried it out. Expensive strawberries! Can’t pick them either, due to «insurance.» That’s understandable, but the price is still quite high, even for the small operation it is. And, last but not least, there were caterpillar larvae in the strawberries. Yes, caterpillar larvae! Completely alarmed me, and I definitely will not be coming back again. Have caution. I give two stars though because it is a novelty especially in Fullerton.

The best strawberries I’ve had in a long time. Bought 3 baskets of strawberries for $ 10. Totally worth it. The strawberries are red and sweet. They were so good that I started eating them while I was still on my way home and I’ve already been there thrice in the past week. This is the place I’m going to go to hence forth to buy yummy strawberries. They also sell blackberries and raspberries, along with some veggies.

Camarosa — the Sweetest Strawberry — at Strawberry Farm So why is a strawberry shaped like a heart? The romantic poets might say it’s the fruit of love or something silly like that. But I think it’s shaped that way because it’s one of the most heart healthy fruits. A recent 10 year Harvard Medical school study proved that the more strawberries you eat, the more it reduces the inflammation in the blood vessels. Not only that, it can be the most delicious, aromatic thing in the world to eat. Most people only ever eat the sometimes lousy, sometimes decent supermarket strawberry. No one but the grower knows the variety — it could be Quinalt, Seqouia, or whatever. Most are the #2 grade. These are picked a week before their peak. Many are sour, lack good even color, are tasteless and/or rubbery, And honestly, if the berries aren’t really good after a look and a whiff, I don’t waste my money. I’m not the most demanding strawberry fan, however. Some So, CAL farmers do grow the super sweet and firm Camarosa in the winter, but most of them end up in gourmet restaurants worldwide where customers will pay $ 10 a basket and up wholesale plus shipping to have these berries. April and May are peak strawberry months in Southern California. If you can buy #1 strawberries where they’re grown at their peak, like at Strawberry Farm, you might taste strawberry nirvana. Last week, I bought a 3 pack for $ 8. Every berry was perfect. The color was deep ruby red even under the green caps. There were no bruises — they picked those out. They were all shaped perfectly and symmetrically — no odd shaped berries sometimes due to pests, disease, overuse of nitrogen, etc. You couldn’t ship these berries — they’d bruise because they are at the peak of their sugar content, flavor, and texture. That day, they were selling the already mentioned Camarosa — developed for the highest sugar levels, the most heady aroma, and firmer texture. When grown under ideal conditions, they are actually quite juicy.(Another variety to look for is the juicier Chandler). In my warm car it effused a very intense strawberry smell with hints of mango and banana. I washed a basket with bottled water outside my car. I lay the basket on a stack of napkins on the passenger side. I whiffed, and slowly bit each berry as the juice exploded inside my mouth. I slowly ate the berries one by one as i drove down the 57 freeway home on the 5 south for 15 miles. I answered no phone calls. I turned off the radio. I let every car into my lane that wanted to, even trucks. When i got home, I had a huge smile on my face, I took the two remaining baskets inside. I would have Belgian Waffles topped with strawberries in glaze, and topped with heavy whipped cream for dessert the next two nights. By the way, be ready to eat your prime berries quickly, they just don’t last that long. Most of that other produce aren’t grown here. They sometimes sell their own field grown zucchini, beans, and tomatoes. They are only open for a few months of the year. Have a berry good day.

These are the best straberries! I always buy 3 baskets for $ 9. They do have other produce, but I never buy it — even though it looks good. The hours are sporadic. The berries are always perfect.
