The food was good and the price was right. We went before the dinner crowd and were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was good. I had a chimichanga and my buddy Dick had the three taco special. Self serve chips and salsa was nice.

Food really sucks! It is the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever had. We came to Brandon for vacation and found this 4-star Unilocal Mexican restaurant. I ordered Fajitas and it tastes very salty and steak is not tender at all. All of us had a really bad experience.

I ordered a carne asada burrito and it was decent. A little pricey for the quality and amount of food you get. The service was slightly unprofessional. The place itself is pretty cool.

Absolutely terrible food. All six of us in our party were disappointed. None of the photos on the menu are true representations of the actual food. Avoid this place like Ebola

Salsa is fresh and made in house. Not like the run of the mill Mexican places with the menu of 200 combo plates. Burrito was built to order as we’re the tacos. Tacos fell apart but we’re good with the free chips. They serve Corona Familiar(qt.) With a chilled mug! Good local alternative to the Chipotle and Qdoba ’ s of the world. Not a place to bring the family for a sit down meal but a great lunch.

Great local Mexican food away from all the busy restaurants in town. Great tacos and awesome salsa. Highly recommend a visit.

You walk in and order at the counter. The boy takes your order and writes it down, including«no guacamole» etc. but you don’t pay, you go sit down. It’s not brought to the table but your called by what u ordered. But the topping(everything besides beans and meat) is added from a buffet bar in front of you as you are asked what you want. Then randomly during your meal they call you up to the counter to pay and asked what you ordered. Very confusing and frustrating especially after they got our order wrong. However the carne asasa burrito was delicious despite sour cream, guacamole, and salsa that was so runny.

Stopped here after an IMAX movie. Very good food and reasonable prices. They had some super hot salsas available.

Billed as «California Style» Mexican food it is basically street tacos and burritos. We had several different types of street taco and they were«ok», but in my opinion not worthy of a four or five star rating! The apparent owner is a hard working, enthusiastic guy with pride in his place. The place is small and was doing a good amount of «call in, pick up» business. Was kind of a «food truck» experience.

The owner was super friendly, goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. The food is hot and fresh and has excellent flavor. The next time I am in Branson I will visit this place again, guaranteed!

Not sure how this place has a 4.5 stars rating. My wife got 3 tacos and they are each about the size of a silver dollar… I’ve had real authentic Mexican street tacos and for a 1 $ you expect small tacos, these are way smaller than that. What a rip off. At 2 $/taco you’ll have to spend 14 $ in tacos for a single meal. The burrito while reasonably tasty is 8.50… 8.50 for a burrito!!! At a place like this? I’m sorry but my local taquerias in dallas serve quality Mexican food for half the price. On top of all that the carne asada was TERRIBLE, most of the pieces were inedible fatty ends lending to the notion they got the cheapest cut of beef possible. The al pastor was flavorful but that does not make up for the rest. Avoid this place if you are expecting authentic taqueria food at taqueria prices, but if you do somehow get tricked into going get an al pastor burrito and try to forget you’re paying almost 9 $ for a burrito that costs 4 – 5 $ anywhere else. Very disappointed. I would feel like a crook charging this much for tacos.

Very small place… almost missed it. There wasn’t much going on in Branson when we went to dinner here and we had the full attention of the staff. The chips and salsa were just ok, nothing special. We split the 12″ burrito and it was pretty good. The cilantro was super fresh and gave it some great flavor. The kids had rice«water» which tasted a bit like a milk shake. I overheard the staff person telling a customer it’s a mix, sugar and vanilla added in. Not exactly healthy options here but quick service and decent food for a very reasonable price.

As a native Missourian, I’ve eaten mediocre Mexican-ish fare all my life. Despite all the reviews, I wasn’t expecting much more from La Iguana. Oh, was I wrong. Their tortillas are handmade, and a sign proudly announces that the food is free of fillers, preservatives, and artificial flavoring. I’m already sold. I ordered the 12″ burrito special that comes with chips, salsa, and a drink. My husband ordered a pork tamale and the steak nachos. The chips were fine, nothing to write home about. The regular salsa was very very mild, but there were 4 other flavors available on the salsa bar as well. I really enjoyed the salsa verde and the medium salsa. The burrito… my god, the burrito. The tortilla(handmade, remember) was tender, soft, and flavorful. The burrito was stuffed with garlic-lime steak, pinto beans, and white rice, plus my choice of toppings from the salsa bar. I went with cheese, sour cream, guacamole sauce, and cilantro. I have to say, the lime in the guac sauce really brought it all together. That burrito was the bomb. I may never be able to eat a Chipotle burrito again. The tamale was really excellent. Hot, tender, filled with tender, rich shredded pork. The nachos were delicious but ultimately just nachos… nothing to write home about. The owner was very friendly and seemed to take pride in his restaurant. The other guy working was polite and friendly as well. My only regret is that we don’t have Mexican this good in Independence.

We were searching for some«authentic» mexican food for lunch. Being from the San Diego area we know«authentic» mexican food. The first thing we noticed when we walked into the place was that we were the only gringo’s there and when speaking with the man taking our order we found out he too was from the San Diego area. The menu is not expansive but like others have said what they do they do well. Today was cold outside so we were looking for some soup. They were offering three different freshly made soups… menudo, posole, and seafood. We chose the seafood and posole and both were delicious. They make their own chips and salsa. Yum! It’s not a fancy place but if you want good and authentic mexican food this is the place. We’ll be back before we leave

He told us his favorite and the locals top picks. Food: A The food was absolutely delicious. We will be back next time we’re in town. Get the burritos!!!

I just visited La Iguana this evening and was very disappointed in the food. Based on the reviews, I expected so much more. I had the enchiladas and a margarita and neither was impressive. The enchilada didn’t have much flavor and the marg tasted like lime juice. I definitely won’t be coming back anytime soon.

This place was full of Mexicans when I walked in — first sign that it was going to be awesome! I felt like I was back at home in San Diego in my favorite taco shop :-) it took almost 30 minutes to get my food, which was a bummer… seemed to be only one guy cooking one thing at a time. We ordered crispy shredded beef tacos, shredded beef chimichanga, acarne Asada burrito, and two ears of Mexican style corn. The shredded beef was really flavorful, and the salsas had great flavor as well. The carne asada tasted more like grilled steak(still good flavor and tender, but not carne asada). The corn was soggy and rather disappointing. Also, the white cheese sauce on the chimichanga was rather spicy — just a warning to those that don’t like spice. I like spicy food and it was still a bit much for me. Overall though, it was the closest thing to ‘real’(west coast) style Mexican food ice had since moving from CA.

I did NOT come to Branson expecting to experience a 5 star quality Mexican dinner, but this little restaurant in an unassuming strip mall on the strip was a wonderful surprise. Not a long list of choices, but what they do they do very well. Upon placing our order and taking our cervezas to our table, the friendly counter staff came over with a basket of fresh-out-of-the-fryer chips to munch on while waited for our entrees. I ordered the steak enchiladas and my workmate ordered the chicken enchiladas, so we swapped 2 of each with each other. Very fresh, delicious. Complemented with rice, refried beans, a couple onion circles and a couple slices of avocado. The shredded chicken was wonderful and the fajita-style steak was tender and delicious as well. The room was populated by a lot of local Latinos and Latinas who knew what I just learned: if you’d like great Cali-style Mexican food in Branson, visit La Iguana. Tip: there is a condiment bar near the cash register with some hot green salsa that will make the meal pop if you like a little heat.(don’t worry if you don’t, the meal is flavorful without)
