Backstage Cafe and Wine Bar

This is one of those places that makes me want to say to myself ‘do I want to tell others about this gem or selfishly keep it quiet because I don’t want it to become so busy that it’s tough to find a spot’…BUT I want this place to survive and thrive and of course be here for when I come back to Branson next time. While it was rainy on our visit, we enjoyed the patio from inside the really great dining room. Can’t wait to check out the outside area next time! The wine selection was great! A wide variety in both varietals and price points ($ 20-​ish to :$ 300+). We ordered The Zeus, a cheese board, a panini, soup and salad. Plenty of food for our table! The servers were so friendly and helpful. This a rare find amidst the plethora of touristy joints and well-​known chains in Branson! Such a breath of fresh air.

Swung by for breakfast. Nice laid back café in the back of a bed & breakfast. Great coffee and good breakfast. The b & b rooms here look great. Seems like a great place to stay only a couple of blocks from the landing.

Stopped here on a road trip and was very impressed! Excellent service, wine, small plates and delicious espresso. Dog friendly patio!

Service was fantastic; very personable. Food and drinks were good. They pour a generous cocktail. Very clean and updated. Great place for a meal or a drink and a snack.
Cool old hotel from 1903ish. Take a tour if you get the chance.

We loved this place, it’s a perfect stop for a light meal and good wine. The service was exceptional as well.

What a cool place. We were looking for a place to get some wine and light appetizers in Branson and a previous person on Unilocal said this was the place to go to, wow were they right! The atmosphere was so nice, they had tons of wine options and the appetizers were all locally acquired. The weight staff there were so so very nice and attentive and really improved the visit their! I highly recommend going there when you visit the historic side of Branson! Can’t wait to go back!

I’ll give it the two stars for the décor and the quiet/​peaceful environment. As far as the food is concerned this place is terrible! We tried the hummus with pita– I know hummus and this was straight out of the grocery store package and put on a plate! The deli board was a joke — a few pieces of cold cuts, chunks of peppers, grapes with seeds, crackers, and a blob of mustard! Wine was just alright… Do not recommend!

Found this gem on a hot summer’s day. Nice wine and beer selection. Cute garden and beautiful bar area.

Great atmosphere in a small setting. The chicken salad and deli board were outstanding.

Awesome atmosphere, nice outdoor seating, and very friendly staff. Definitely try the local blackberry wine and moscato they serve. Also the best espresso in town. This is one of the nicest places in Branson. My husband and I absolutely loved it!

Great place in Branson! A nice little bar that also serves amazing breakfast. Tucked away and quiet.
We ordered biscuits and gravy and the taneycomo. All of it was delicious! Would definitely recommend and will be back next visit for the evening sometime to try the wine and beer selections.

My wife and I stayed at the Branson Hotel which comprises the bulk of the building and stopped into the bar before our evening on the town. Tony, the bartender, was very engaging and friendly.
We didn’t sample their wines that evening, but my wife had a mixed drink and I drank a Missouri-​brewed craft beer.
The next morning, we had breakfast. The space is fairly small but the gentleman running the place didn’t seem phased and got the various guests’ orders out quickly. The food was simple but well done and beautifully presented. Wife had biscuits and gravy with fruit while I had a toasted bagel and parfait.
We hope to be back soon to stay or just for drinks. A wonderful and low key spot.

Great atmosphere. Enjoyed the staff. Had the deli board. Was a nice light dinner. But not a full meal. Would encourage anyone wanting a nice evening with spouse or small group. Full bar.

This place has great character and hospitality — the service is quick and with tremendous personality!
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of all the shows!

Quaint little secret — Shelly (who runs the place with her husband) is as beautiful and charming as the atmosphere. Highly highly recommended but don’t tell the tourists! #branson
