This is definitely NOT my favorite Stop & Shop location. I usually find the parking lot full, because it shares its plaza with 3 or 4 other business’. The condition of this store is really not welcoming, clean or appetizing like it should be. The floors always appear dirty and unwashed, many times I see products put back in aisles they don’t belong in — just carelessly left on the shelves, the produce doesn’t look very fresh, and this location does not seem to have as many selections as most other stores. While it is certainly an older store that hasn’t been renovated, I feel that their floral department is huge and beautifully kept. The bakery personnel are very friendly and even offer samples, which is great. The baked goods are just ok from here, not as good as my West Haven store. Prices are higher in this area and I would expect more of this location as far as cleanliness, selection of products and happier customer service associates? I usually shop in the evenings here(only when necessary) and the shift supervisor Dean is very friendly, nice and has been super accommodating. Most of the time they do have enough registers open so the wait time in line is short, which is great. The cashiers are ok, not super friendly. Very often, which is too often, their store Redbox is not working which is a BIG inconvenience to me. I guess the immediate and lasting impression of this store is neglected. It really looks and feels like no one there CARES about its appearance or cleanliness or even happy employees. Such a depressing shopping experience. I really hope they start to make some necessary improvements.

I work in the area and often find myself running to this location to pick up food for dinner or for the weekend on the way home. This is a ‘tweener Stop & Shop, meaning that it got some of the overhaul that most of the other locations did, but it still has a lot of the old drab features from the Super versus regular Stop & Shop days. A big turn off to me is how bad the service usually is at the fish and meat counters. The bakery here is subpar. Also, the produce section here is much smaller than its newer counterparts. At least there’s usually an express lane that isn’t a self check out. If the cost of paying wages is going to be passed onto the consumer, scanning and bagging should not be passed along as well.
