I ran out of contacts and needed to renew my prescription. Although, it was quite simple to make an appointment, my experience went south within minutes of my arrival. After being presented with the normal paperwork, I was quoted a price almost 5 times what my insurance declaration stated it would cost. When I tried to get an explanation, the clerk proceeded to upsale me additional tests that were not covered. When I declined and requested to speak to the doctor, he basically stated, in a condescending tone, it was not optional. They apparently were«not the place to come to if you just needed a routine exam». which I’ve gotten for over 30 years. Since I know there are plenty options around town, I chose not to continue to escalate and decided to take my business elsewhere. I guess I will get a quote when making an appointment to avoid any bait and switch tactics.

I’m not sure if I’m going to come here again. I’m relatively new to the area and I needed to get an eye exam done so I could order more contacts. I got there and I filled out the usual paperwork, that was all fine. When they took me in to do the refracting tests, glaucoma test and a few others that’s where it got interesting. The two girls performing the tests were more interested in talking to each other than doing their jobs. I have done all these tests many times before because I have to have an eye exam once a year in order to renew my contacts prescription. I have never had so much trouble doing these tests they were constantly taking my head and maneuvering it in all sorts of ways and they messed it all up. I had that refracting test done where you look at the red barn in the distance done 4 times! One of the machines was broken which did not help the process at all. The real fun started when I say the person I saw next, the optometrist. This guy was on something for sure. I’m 25 and have had plenty of eye exams. Once this started I knew something was up. Out of no where he starts telling me all these crazy things about my eyes that apparently all the other eye doctors missed in my previous exams. He then told me not to take an selfies to try and see what he’s talking about. I don’t know what that means It was all a bunch of nonsense and I know I have none of those problems. I have a year so I will probably be looking another place to get my exams done.
