When it comes to fast food pizza, I love Papa Gino’s. What is important to me is not burning the cheese and having the right ratio between sauce and cheese. This place is convenient for me and they are pretty consistent. It’s not going to be gourmet pizza so I’m not going to compare it to that type of pizza restaurant. I have other options for that like The Michaelangelo at Angelo’s Coal Fired Pizza in Quincy is quite yummy. OK, back to PG’s. I’ve also tried their burgers, which surprisingly isn’t bad. My only complaint is that they don’t give enough marina sauce for an order of mozzarella sticks. I like sauce! I don’t do delivery and typically order pizza on a weeknight so I haven’t experienced any of the crazy wait times. I recently used online ordering which allowed me to customize my pizza(like doing half toppings) without having to explain it over the phone.

I used to love Papaginos in Braintree but after tonight, I will not be going back again. The service was bad. The«General Manager» seemed to be doing almost all of the work along with 2 others making food, and one of the employees sitting in the eating area dwiddling his thumbs. The phone was ringing the entire time(55 minutes) I waited for my pizza, and the manager chose to ignore the incoming calls. I ordered online: Small chicken fingers, small fries, and I decided to try the«Rustic Thin Crust Pizza» The manager claimed our food was not ready 25 minutes after we put in the online order. We sat and stared at(what we later found out was) our food for another 30 minutes before it was given to us. After making my 3 minute trip home, I was excited to eat, so I went for the fries first. Believe it or not, the«small fry» had about 15 fries in the box, and the bottom was visible. The thin crust pizza was comparable to UNO’s deep dish. It measured to be at least 3 inches thick. I have nothing to complain about the chicken fingers — must be frozen! I will never again defend Papaginos when my friends say it is bad. *pictures included of the handful of fries and extra thick crust pizza*

This place has gone down hill in the last few years. If they don’t mess up my order with the wrong thing they find a way of messing up the right order. I ordered a well well done pepperoni pizza saying I like the pepperoni crispy… They never do it! It’s always soft and greasy but when I order a steak and cheese they always burn that!!! I’m finding a new place. I’m done. I use to love Papa Gino’s:/ thanks for ruining it!

OK, so when I was a kid my parents would ask where I wanted to eat for dinner out – we only had three choices, McDonald’s, Burger King, and Papa Gino’s. Papa Gino’s always won out for me. Plus they always gave out these scratch on sticker book things which I loved as a kid! Anyhow, even though my pizza eating has become more daring Papa Gino’s pizza has a special place in my heart – thin crust, more cheese than sauce, cooked just right. Perfection in a kid’s eye, which when feeling nostalgic along with pangs of hunger PG’s fills the immediate need. This location was quiet today, only 2 workers and they were busting to keep up with call-in orders I presume. They still managed to offer table service to those of us sitting in the dining room. Appreciated that even though I was just getting a couple of cheese slices. And they were exactly as expected – thin, cheesy and just a hint of sauce! Brings out the kid in me.

Regular cheese pizza is probably their best dish(eaten 50+). It’s thin crust NY-style, with an OK amount of cheese and tomato sauce. There’s usually a couple of 1-inch diameter airpockets. I’ve heard people say there was too much oil, but I thought it was fine. The bulk of the oil is in the cheese area; almost none in the crust, so the handle might be a little dry. There’s also some kind of awesome herbal/spice taste, maybe parsley or dill weed, that I can’t taste in Bertucci’s or Pizza Hut’s cheese. Order by phone, and eat at home for the best experience.

Just ordered a chicken bacon pizza from there and there is barley any chicken or bacon on it, how annoying. Will never order from there again

Slow. Was«given» a $ 5 credit by the manager. Came back., Credit gone, Expires after a month? No more express lunch. There are so many good places, why ever go here again?

Service is just too slow! I ordered large pie to go and ended up waiting for 40 minutes. The restaurant seems very dark and dated. Not so inviting to dine-in. Never again.

Their pizza is good but they take FOREVER to have it ready. If you’re getting anything get a pizza but be ready to wait

This Papa Gino’s is in my hometown. I don’t love Papa Gino’s in the first place but when it’s convenient and everyone else wants it that’s fine. I have ordered multiple times at this location and end up waiting for at least an hour. Ive also ordered from here and stand waiting and then watch my food sit there while they are busy doing other things. However we recently ordered Papa Gino’s for delivery. This Papa Gino’s is in Braintree and I live IN Braintree. When the delivery driver got here he told me that the manager said to tell me they don’t deliver here anymore. So you don’t deliver to the town the store is in? What? He then gave me the number of the Quincy store and told me to try there. I don’t live in Quincy but okay? I didn’t like Papa Gino’s that much anyways! Next time ill be going to Angelinas who doesn’t mind delivering in Braintree and has way better food!

I like Papa G’s pizza too… I even like their Buffalo Tender salad, some of there sandwiches… the food’s decent. I do NOT, however, like this location any longer. It has always been slow(even where there are not that many people in the place) but the worker’s were(usually) friendly and let’s face it, we’re not talking gourmet here, and I’m not a gourmet girl. HOWEVER, if I call in an order for pick up, do NOT tell me «30 minutes», then let my and the hubs(3 y.o. daughter in tow) show up to find half of Braintree waiting around, looking all pissy, and our food takes an hour. If you had told me an hour on the phone, I would have either said«No thanks», or(more likley) figured«Well, it’s Friday night, must be busy». Instead I said«Hey, good deal on a Friday!»… and ended up showing Youtube videos ad nauseum on my phone to the little one while hubs got waiting room duty. It’s a 5 minute drive home: the fries were cold(not cool, COLD). Never again, even on a quiet day. We’ve had enough.

Who puts mayonnaise on and Italian sub? This place does. I should have known better than to get a sub here in the first place, especially with Double G’s across the street, it was a matter of convenience — don’t judge me. I think the roll was getting stale it crumbled as I started to eat it. The man at the register rang me up incorrectly so I ended up getting a large sub…(not what I ordered) I felt bad throwing it away since it had so much mayo on it.

Typical papa ginos, service was good food was good. Pizza was hot no complaints. Wish I could say the same for the VCA down the street. I enjoy the cheese breadsticks and dip them in sauce. I cannot begin to coung the number of Papa Gino pizza’s I’ve had over the years, but it always the same and that’s a good thing

I really enjoy Papa Gino’s pizza. It brings me back to my childhood when EVERYONE had their birthday parties there and got to make their own pizza. That said, I don’t know what it is, but every Papa Gino’s seems to suffer from TERRIBLE services. I’ve wait up to an hour for a small cheese pizza or a tuna sub when then place is empty. This is a fairly common occurrence and seems consistent across locations. I’ll only order from Papa Gino’s if the little lady has one of her cravings and I give them 30 extra minutes before I arrive to pick up my food. Oh and the jukeboxes per table were awesome; do they do that anymore?

Wow — this was just AWFUL. While in the middle of Home Goods(next door to Papa Gino’s), my stomach started to scream and I realized the reason I was being so bitchy to my husband was because I was so fking hungry. He dragged me out of Home Goods and walked me straight here to get lunch. The place was pretty dead. I got a turkey club because I just really wanted a sandwich and the husband got 3 slices of pepperoni. When our order was called I ran up to the counter to grab my sandwich. I literally laughed out loud at it when I saw it. It was the saddest looking lunch in history… 2 pieces of turkey, 3 pieces of almost burnt bacon, and that stupid shredded lettuce they put on subs at bad sub shops. The sub was smaller than a 6 inch at Subway and it cost $ 6.50. I bet a pre-made turkey club from the Mobil Station would’ve tasted better. I scarfed it down while my husband blotted the oil of his pizza(which soaked into 4 napkins) and by the time he finally took a bite he burned the roof of his mouth because it was hotter than all hell. Yeah. I now know that even in desperate times, eating at Papa Gino’s is even worse than not eating.

Pizza doesn’t really strike me as Boston’s thing, especially being from NY. Therefore, it’s no surprise that I’m not that thrilled with Papa Gino’s. The pizza is just not pizza. It’s got the dough. It’s got the sauce and cheese, but there’s just something missing. I think that this location is average Papa Gino’s and if that’s what you like then you won’t be disappointed. The only pizza I find halfway decent in Boston is Upper Crust, so if you’ve got a location within driving distance go there. Though for the budget conscious this is the choice.

After 5 hours with«the kids»(3 boys, 12, 11, 6 none of which are mine) on Sunday, they were screaming for pizza. I was willing to pay anything for silence. Papa Ginos saved the day; and my ears. It is what it is mass produced pizza that kids love and thats all that matters.
