I’ve purchased rugs at a half-​dozen Boston area stores — including all the ones whose name you’d know — and this one is the best. I’ve bought seven rugs there in the past three years, and brought all my others in for cleaning and better pads.
This is not a fancy building. It’s hard to find, the first time. But if you can find the South Shore Plaza, you can find this place. And no parking problem!
George and Frank don’t have fancy suits. They don’t talk fast. They don’t have phony going-​out-​of-​business sales. Only rarely does George reduce a price, so if you are looking for a good haggle, keep looking. But sometimes, it seems, George is just tired of seeing that rug in the pile, and he’ll knock a couple hundred bucks off. In other words, it has more to do with his relationship with the rug than his relationship with you.
These are serious, thoughtful business people who love rugs. Make a Saturday morning outing out of it. (They’re closed the rest of the weekend.) You won’t be sorry.

I have purchased oriental rugs before from Gregorians and Dover Rug. This time, I was considering two Karastan rugs from Macy’s due to price. Before buying, I decided to check out Grillo’s and was amazed at the price and quality of the handmade oriental rugs. Why buy a machine rug when you can buy the real thing? I bought two rugs, 8×10 and 6×9 for a terrific price. The free in home viewing is typical of the industry. Supply in certain sizes may be limited, but there is very nice quality at great prices. The staff is knowledgeable, direct, no nonsense. Very good value.

Grillo is about the best place around for cleaning and repairing fine rugs. They cleaned a very pet stained rug for me that came out smashingly. They are helpful, fair and great to work with.
And they also have a great selection of rugs.
I highly recommend a trip to Braintree to see these guys.

Grillo’s did a fantastic job cleaning our rug with extremely thick wool noodles. We contacted 5 – 10 other rug cleaners in the Boston/​Cambridge area, and Grillo’s was the only one that was confident that their cleaning process would be able to handle the thick shag of the rug. They have a 10% discount if you submit a quote request online. If you choose to drop off/​pick up the rug, the fee is also discounted a bit. We purchased our rug from another person, and Grillo’s agreed to pick it up from that person’s house, clean it at their facility, and then drop it off at our place. We are very satisfied with the outcome! They also were able to remove a pink stain (the prior owner was not sure what caused the stain, nor how long it had been there) enough that I can’t see where the stain used to be.

I called planning to buy Rug for sure I have seen on their web, and looking to buy one more rug, that’s why I was asking the sales person how I corresponded with twice by email about the shade of red, I was concerned about the shade of red, since there are several shade of red & want them to match, because they be in the same room.
The sales person put me on hold & then the owner I don’t know what’s his problem picked up the phone, gave me lectures & accusing me of wrong doing, and started talking about the price how good it is, I explained to him the price is not the issue, I am concerned about the shade of red, he will not let you speak or even hear you that’s not a good business practice. He sounded rudest, most abrupt person I’ve ever talked to.
By the way I bought several rugs online & been very happy and level of service I received, nothing like what I experienced with this place.
Also it’s none of his business to ask customers about their background & nationally.

I had my parents rugs cleaned at Grillo and they were great! They picked up the rugs and quoted me on the spot, rugs were cleaned to perfection and returned before my parents returned from vacation. I would recommend them.

I have been having my rugs cleanded by Grillo for 12 years and every year I have been sucked into going back. The owner is the rudest, most abrupt person I’ve ever dealt with. I was 60 days over due on paying a $ 500.00 invoice (I was out of the country and had a financial problems at the time) I have probably given him at laest 10k of business in the past 10 years. Mr. Grillo called me probably 2 times per week leaving nasty, nasty voice mails telling me he was going to take me to court. What a miserable loser. I’ll never, ever recommend them to anyone again and will tell all my friends to never use him again. He lost a great customer! Because I was late on a bill he knew I would pay? UGH stupid business people. They are way to expense anyway. Just found another excellent company anyway. Less expensive
