If you are at the mall, have decent clothes on, and some time to unwind; instead of eating at the food court, go here. It’s great. I’ve visited many of these throughout the country. This one doesn’t exactly have a great view but at least it’s not over run with noise like the food court. The French onion soup is one of their best items. Plus, you can order up a glass of wine and continue shopping(:

Came here for lunch and got much more than I expected. Their portions are large and everything is extremely tasty! They literally have the best fries in ever had! So crispy, thin and well seasoned! I will be back!

The food is pretty good, definitely not cheap, and I’ve seen mice there. Many times.

This is one of my top places to grab a meal whenever I’m at the mall. It’s located inside of Nordstrom. Menus are located at the entrance; you order and pay first, then seat yourself. The menu consists of sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and some main dishes. I tend to go with their sandwiches as they’re a good size and comes with a side of fries. The fries are so addicting; perfectly crisp and comes with a kalamata olive aioli for dipping. The French onion soup is also very good, comes with good amount of cheese and has a nice balance of flavors. This time around I got the roasted chicken and goat cheese panini along with a French onion soup, and it was very filling. I ended up bringing half my sandwich and some fries home. Of course I had to ask for extra olive aioli on the side! Prices can be on the higher end depending on what you order. Pastas and some main dishes can be on the smaller size. But overall they use very fresh and quality ingredients.

The food is way better than the two chain restaurants within the mall — CPK and Cheesecake factory. We started to come to Café Bistro more often and fell in love with the service and the great taste.

Kalamata olive dip is so good with the fries! I ordered a bistro club — it was okay mainly because the bacon was rock hard and had to use the Kalamata olive dip with the sandwich bc it was slightly bland

I’ve been here quite a fee times — it’s really a hidden gem! We split pizza and salads which were both delicious and very filing. The chef came out and asked if we were interested in dessert — I said we were too full but the bread pudding sounded delicious. I said I’d take it to go but didn’t think it would travel. He said he’d make it so I could heat it later. The presentation and success of the to go dessert was awesome — i was able to enjoy it the following day. scored very high in customer service.

Bistro club is my all-time favorite. The kalamata olive dip is good to use for both fries and sandwiches, but can get really salty. The other really good sandwich is the steak sandwich, which is my husband’s favorite.

My friend hyped up the café for me; claiming it is very cheap and delicious. I find it very standard in terms of price and quality. While it may be nice to dine in Nordstrom while shopping, I would much rather go to the food court/chipotle/CPK. The french onion soup is worth getting. I thought the sauteed chicken with angel hair pasta was A-OK.

I absolutely love this café. I have been here multiple times over the last few months! All of my waiters/servers/chefs have been superb — especially JT — I have had him wait on me the most. Super friendly, super attentive! All — and I mean ALL — of the food I have ordered has been excellent: –the grilled ham and cheese is super delicious — I think I’ve ordered it 10 times already! –tonight I ordered the club sandwich — it was so different than other club sandwiches, and in every positive way! There wasn’t an excess of bread — there were delicious insides consisting of meat, avocado, tomato, bacon, green beans(who knew they would be good in a sandwich!!), and a yummy aioli. –I also ordered the pumpkin bisque tonight — oh. my. gosh. best I have ever had. And the crostini that came with it — topped with asiago cheese — yum yum yum! On other occasions, I have had the salmon entrée and the Asian chicken salad — both of which I would order again in a heart beat! I am so lucky I live so close to such a fabulous café with excellent, affordable food! (Not to mention the delicious wine!!!) (Also forgot to mention the free wi-fi! Great alternative to panera!!!)

I came here around 3 times, and 3 is about the average of all my experiences. I tried the shrimp salad, and it was fairly good. I also tried the steak sandwich(forgot what it was called but it was like sliced beef) w/fries. The fries is pretty good, but the sandwich is just mediocre and tasteless. It’s also more on the expensive side given what you get for your food. Wouldn’t come here often but will visit if I get very hungry from shopping too much

Had no idea this place existed — small, quiet, out of the way place where you order at the door, pick a seat and wait for your food. Really great little spot.

This is a total hidden gem. Order up your food at the front counter, sit down and voila! Prices are reasonable and the food is very good. Friendly servers and a limited yet decent beer and wine selection. Great salads, pizza and entrees and never gets too overly crowded.

If you’re looking for a nice place to sit and relax and catch up with a friend, this is a great place to dine. You order at the entrance and then sit anywhere you want. The booths are nice and cozy and it’s low key and quiet. The food and desserts are great! I love the chicken and angel hair pasta. It is a nice lunch portion that just hits the spot. The crème brûlée and bread pudding is pretty good, although the lemon stuff on top of crème brûlée may be a little too sour. It all ends with a couple of chocolate sticks and you leave very satisfied. I’ve had a waiter named John a couple times I’ve been there who is exceptionally excellent! He is always friendly and goes above and beyond! I would definitely recommend this café over the food court and I intend to keep coming back :)

The Nordstrom Café is a hidden gem within the South Shore Plaza. I’ve been here a few times for lunch with co-workers and have always had an enjoyable experience. The staff is friendly and the food is great. It’s not always easy to find a decent food option at a mall so this place is a true haven for shoppers. The menu includes soup, sandwiches, salads, pizza and pasta. I’ve tried the salads, soups, and sandwiches — all were fresh and tasty. They serve beer and wine if you aren’t at a work lunch. Would definitely consider this my favorite place to eat at the plaza — beats legals, joe’s, cheesecake, the food court…

Wish I had a picture. I started with the crab bisque not to be confused with lobster bisque. Warmed me right up. My pear & pecan salad was fresh and tasty I added some grilled chicken for protein. My sister friend enjoyed her mint tea & a salad with salmon. The portions were perfect lunch size, quick, friendly service. It beats the food court, certainly going back.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Nordstrom Café. When you walk in, you must order with the«host» who is also the waiter. I’ve never seen more than 10 patrons inside at once. Their system is confusing to me… why order at the door, then sit down and if you want anything additional, you must be charged again? The décor is modern but cozy. Cuisine is predominantly French/American. If you’re in the store shopping it’s a nice little nook to have a bite.

I’ve been here on several occasions, and everything I’ve gotten has been good. I’ve had the beef shortrib sandwich, chicken angel hair pasta, the bistro club, and a few other dishes, all of which I’d recommend. Everything is flavorful, and portion-size leaves you feeling«just right»; I’d recommend this place more for lunch. Ambiance-wise, it’s quite dim inside and more subdued, definitely the opposite from the mall’s general food court area. The service is polite, but I always find a bit minimal given how small the place is, they don’t seem to check on you at all. Also, a few times the server comes at some point and drops off the dessert menu without you asking and without explaining anything, like a «drive-by menu drop». Since you pay at the beginning, if you have one of those MIA servers, it sometimes can be interesting trying to remember how much the bill was to figure out tip, since the server rarely comes back to find out you are done with your meal and ready to leave.

I guess the only thing I find strange here is having to order at a cash register before getting seated. Otherwise, this is a really nice place for a mall lunch… when Panda Express grease just doesn’t cut it. I had the bistro club and it was rather nice. The bread was toasted, but not charred. The chicken was good and not tasteless. The blanched french beans were a nice touch. The shoestring fries were not greasy and tasted crispy. Service was terrific and the waiter offered to refill my Arnold Palmer promptly and did so. The décor might be a little stuffy for some, but I thought it was sophisticated but casual at the same time. I had a problem with the lack of lighting though. Don’t compare the prices here with food court places, because, there’s a difference in quality here.

Located inside and tucked away in a dark corner… You order first then you sit where you want. ONLY if the tables are cleared. The soups are delicious. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup and Crab Bisque. Pretty good. I ordered the Chicken Caesar salad(about $ 10, portions are decently sized) and… its delicious but my chicken is… cold. Other than that the food is ok and servers are polite. After you’re done with your food, they’ll give you a desert menu. Haven’t ordered anything from it. Café Bistro is a good place to come to if you just want to fill a craving.
