Dropped by The Perfect Pair Café today and found it is still closed and it doesn’t appear to be reopening any time soon. Three of us had dinner at Colatina Exit instead and had fine meals there.

Very sad to go tonight and find it CLOSED(as of 9÷24÷12). A loss for the Upper Valley and Bradford, for sure. The downstairs VT Beer Company was such a cozy and friendly spot. :(

Nice views, there, I’ve said something nice… I have gone to the perfect pear a few times, each time at the suggestion of my wife. She is not a carnivore. The menu is very limited and from what I can tell, the same. There are interesting things on the menu if you are not interested in meat as your protein. Shrimp in the Scampi was vulcanized, you could plug a tire with it and it was under seasoned. There were no offerings of Steaks, roast, chops, what most men want. Seafood was very limited. Draft beer(their own) was super expensive. It was clean. There, 2 nice things.

This place was really cute– I LOVED the atmosphere– we sat outside on the deck, right on the water and it was just so nice and gorgeous. They also have indoor seating which looked cute too. Our waitress seemed a little slow or busy, but I was enjoying being outside so I didnt really mind the slow-ish service. This place is a brewery, but they only had two to try, so we tried both– the Red and the Golden. The Red was way better than the Golden, because the Golden was very bitter, though the Red wasnt amazing– but it was very good and drinkable. I wish they had more beer– and I wish they had a good tasting/sampler. For food, I had the Hand Carved Turkey Breast Club with Smoked Bacon, Swiss Cheese & Roasted Garlic Apple Mayonnaise that came with homemade potato chips– everything was amazing and delicious and was a HUGE portion, for not too expensive a price! All of the other food options looked really good too. I would definitely come back here, at the least for the food and the ambiance, and hope the beer flows more plentifully next time!

Stopped in here for lunch on the way up to Burlington. Since it was nice out we decided to sit outside on the patio that overlooks the river and the waterfall. So as you can imagine the view is very nice. There are also 2 levels of indoor seating. The upstairs was a sit down restaurant space and the downstairs was more like a bar & lounge setting. So they not just a restaurant, but also a brewery. Unfortunately the day I was there they only had 2 beers available to try. The first was their Red which was a typical red ale. The second was their Golden which was a slightly bitter but lightly hoppy offering. They were both decent beers, but nothing worth going out of your way for. The food was good and the portions were on the larger side. I had the burger which was very good. I subbed the regular fries for the sweet potato ones which were good. The other sandwiches on the menu came with homemade potato chips which were excellent. Service was prompt & friendly. The prices were low and the place was not crowded. So worth a stop in if you’re in the area.

On a road trip last summer — luckily it was lunchtime when we happened upon the old mill building on Rt 5. Perfect location for a yummy salad and sandwich on the porch, a cool breeze from the river, beautiful view, local produce and very friendly service.

This review is specifically for the«pub» located underneath the main restaurant. Terrible. Bare bones place with not music tvs or anything. THey have 3 beers on tap, 2 of which they brew themselves.$ 5.50 for a pint. Ridiculous. I didn’t realize this place was located in NYC. Way too expensive for a home brew pint in a barebone facility with 0 frills. Booo. The name plate is VT Brewery or something to that effect. It is a sin that a proper brewery or pub cannot use this name. Would not go again.

A decent, but unremarkable dinner. No pears to be found on the menu. The ambiance was very nice and the waitstaff friendly and helpful. The food was, well, ordinary. I had one of the specials, a broiled pork tenderloin. It had a little bit of a nice sauce, was a bit overcooked. It came on top of a thick, dense, rather flavorless potato pancake that tasted of old grease. On the side were the most perfectly cooked asparagus spears I’ve had in a while. My dining partner had the salmon, which she reported to be good, well cooked, but plain. The seafood chowder was a relatively formless white substance with a hint of fish. Dessert was a bland, very dense bread pudding. Overall the food was well presented but not particularly flavorful. Not bad considering that we were a long way from anywhere, but not worth a trip. I’ll try someplace different the next time I’m in that part of the world.

i am not sure what it is about the small villages of Vermont but they all seem to produce at least one little sparkling gem of a dining establishment(bradford has 2). there really is no way that i am going to be able to describe to you how wonderful this place is but i will give it a shot. i would also suggest going to the website to get another hint. and then i would suggest packing it up, getting into your car and driving 3.5 hours from albany to bradford and trying it out for yourself. say hi to my mom while you are there. so, the restaurant is just after you cross the Waits River, to the right side, On the river. even as you approach the doors you know you are going to love it. the atmosphere is one of pure joy and peace. you open the lovely doors to step into a bright and beautiful place with Very friendly staff. and even though you may think you Have to dine with a view of the river and the water rushing over the rapids, every single other spot to sit is truly lovely. the menu is a blend of flavors that are designed to delight you in every way. the salads are fresh and delicious, the entrée’s varied and unique and the lighter fare equally wonderful. i have had a number of the items they offer and have always been perfectly pleased. it really IS the perfect pear. once again. Go Here. oh my. i just looked up their website to post here and i think i am going to go visit my mom this weekend just so we can eat here again.
