Tammy’s Manatee Top Nail & Hair

Eek! Methinks not is absolutely correct.
This place was one of THE worst nail shops I have been to in my entire life.
I am visiting my precious grandmother who, like me, cannot function properly without acrylic nails. So we took off to find someone to do our nails as well as our toes. (:
As the fella that previously did her nails no longer works at the shop, we had to search out a different place.
Manatee Top Nail was not that.
My immediate reaction as soon as I walked in was definitely not a good one. It was yicky 90s décor and smelled like rice. And to be honest, I LOVE the smell of a nail shop, when it smells like acetone and acrylic powder, not steaming food.
We were seated for our peds I immediately became increasingly more ill than I previously had been as I was able to continue taking in all the bad points.
As I am sitting there while this little man is workin on my Nanny’s feet, I am having to try very hard to suppress the urge to vomit as flies are flying around and landing all over my towel. I keep shooting her death glances hoping she will get the message and high tail it out with me but shes a lot sweeter than I.
As the time moves on and i realize I am going to have to gag my way through this pedicure I hear a clink as the man drops the cuticle tool onto the floor. I watch as he picks it up and goes to use it on her foot. I ask him (stupidly) if that tool just fell to the floor. He responds (MORE stupidly) with a yes. I ask him to go ahead and make sure he sanitizes it before he attempts to use it for anything.
At this point I take the opportunity to tell my grandmother I am ‘starving’ and we need to get some lunch before we have our nails done.
My Nanny is finished with her ped in a record 12 minutes with quite possibly the WORST polish job I have EVER seen.
My ped takes roughly 14 minutes and the lady was nice but I just could never go in there again.
As we were sitting together drying and I asked if we had paid, my Nan looks at me with a grin and says, ‘We wont be coming back, will we?‘
NOPE! Cause if this is Manatee Top Nail… I certainly dont want to witness Manatee Bottom Nail.
