Once again perplexed about the stars — so understand this is 4 stars based on comparable restaurants. I think sometimes folks compare it to the best mea you’ve ever had. I’m comparing it to other Italian restaurants in the same dining and price level. It’s probably one of the better once a I’ve been in for the price. 6 of us had dinner and no one had any complaints from fish to pasta to veal. The waitress was very nice. The menu has an excellent selection so you may wonder if they can make it all well, and everything was very good. What I like most about Mamma Onesti’s is it used to be an Irish Pub and now is an Italian restaurant with that comfortable pub feel. With places like this around I am always confused as to why anyone goes to Olive Garden or Carraba’s. If you’re a tourist and defaulting to a chain because you don’t know what to expect definitely stop in here, same dress code, same cost and of course an original. Salute.

I just took mom here. She got the chicken picatta for 16.95. The chicken was very processed and gross. Small as well the sauce was good though. I tried the cheese sticks and they are good and homemade. My house wine was good. Michelle was a very good an attractive server. Meatballs were ok. For the price of the meal mom was very unhappy. Ive only eaten here twice in 6 years for this reason. Not a great place. Get wings and appetizers so you dont get ripped off. Over priced.

If I could give –5 stars I would. the service was terrible. The food was absolutely horrible! Our server was extremely unprofessional, no smile no familiar greeting. It took literally 15mins to get our drinks, another 10mins to get the lemon. She literally paid no attention to us! I ordered the fettuccine carbonara and I literally received a plate with over cooked noodles, three pounds of butter, a pound of heavy cream and absolutely no waste. Very few pieces of bacon, the peas seemed old. My wife ordered a pepperoni Stromboli, the dough tasted like cardboard. Extremely tough with no taste or texture. The kicker. I ate maybe three bites of my entrée, I showed my server how yucky the product was and she only offered a $ 4.00 discount! Save your money and your belly from this fake Italian restaurant.

I came here one time prior and the Calzone might have been the best I have ever had. The right mix of crunchy, stuffed with ingredients. This 2nd time I went for lunch, I took my gf promising something great and it was awful. Calzone was soggy, small, and lacked much ingredients. Shows inconsistency and I will not be going back there anytime soon.

First time 6weeks ago, meat ball sandwich very, very good. Second time 3 weeks ago had penne with meat sauce and one meatball and sausage very very good. Our third time there, today had rigatoni ala vodka, excellent. I don’t do many reviews and I know what good Italian food tastes like so give it a try.

The sign at the road caught my eye. Lunch specials from $ 5.95. Ordered the Peppers and sausage sandwich and salad. Very tasty. Good service.

The pizza is okay. Not the best but not the worst. Now the pasta on the other hand is down right awful. Do not get pasta from here. I have tried it 4 times, every time thinking that the last time was a fluke, but each time it was aurally terrible. Like I said the pizza is okay and the chicken wings are good but that’s it.

Food okay… it seems the help are more interested in gossiping among themselves then taking care of customers.

Went in for late lunch. Food was great as always. Service was above average. Haven’t had a bad meal here yet. Love the garlic knots. Pastas are great. Veal is fantastic. Had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was almost as good as my wife’s. Would recommend this place to my northern friends when they visit

Wow… Grub Guru eat lunch here a few months ago and being an Italian familia, this was not even close. Inside seating was refrigerated… moved outside to get some sun and ordered the deluxe salad that comes with bacon… no bacon… addressed issue… nothing. Parm was soggy… food seemed that it was frozen and thrown into the fryer. Who wants to eat that sh*t?! Food was so bad, did not even finish a quarter or the plate. Server… I guess… forgot about us… never saw her again. We actually drove by hours later and our food was still sitting out on the outside deck. Attention to detail is lacking here… save your money for McDonald’s…this has been rebranded as Mama O’Nastys!

Mamma Onesti’s is great! My waitress was excellent, very on top of refills with drinks and clearing the table. They had a good selection of beer to choose from, and out food was wonderful. Great flavor! An awesome overall experience. I will definitely be returning!

Hmmm. Time, 8:05PM Friday night. Got a booth immediately. We were lucky. Crowded, but no wait. Excellent service. She was friendly, spoke over the ambient noise well. Our server gave great advice to get the caprezy salad with a side of roasted red peppers. She was the way you prefer your server to be; intelligent, articulate, friendly and funny. We ordered a tea and a Black and Tan(Guiness and Bass). Tea was decent. Beer seemed a bit flat and watered down. Not sure about it, but I did not complain to find out if it was the tap, the keg, the glass, the pour or my tongue. We ordered the fried Mac & cheese bites. Also the free garlic knot rolls. The Mac & cheese bites would be great for kids. As for adult taste buds, they might be a little lacking in flavor(but, we ate them all). The garlic bread was quite tasty AND it was free! For entrée we got Gnocci in red vodka sauce and Egg Plant Parm sandwich with fries. The Gnocci was interesting. The sauce was unusual. A taste that takes getting used to. It was a bit rich but it was a little heavy on the garlic. However, the gorgonzola was great and the Parmesan was super as well. So, even though it takes getting used to, it is very good! The eggplant Parm sandwich was sliced very thin. The taste was good, nice sauce, but the eggplant WAS too thinly sliced. The fries were good, the perfect crispness, and done enough but not overdone. The coffee was excellent(strong and rich). A little expensive, but worth it and we will be back.

We were on vacation in Bradenton fla and wanted Italian food. This was a mistake, the worst chicken parm I have had in my life and the lasagna was no better. A much better choice would be Olive Garden. At least you can eat it,

Does anybody in this town know how to properly cook Italian food? The food had absolutely no taste whatsoever, not even salt which i had to put plenty off on top which doesn’t taste the same as cooking with it. Putting some garlic butter on top of some knotted bread, does not make it garlic bread. The spaghetti sauce was as bland as opening up a can to tomato sauce and pouring it over the noodles. I had the chicken parmesan and my wife had lasagna. How hard could those dishes be to make? No salt and no garlic ATALL. Might as well get a frozen italian TV dinner from the grocery store. Probably not go back and will not recommend to anybody.

This place is terrible! While we were seated right away because the place was empty, we had to wait 15 minutes before our waitress realized we were even there! She kept talking to some«hot stuff» guy and not doing her job by serving us and helping us out. The place wasn’t very clean either. We didn’t give the waitress a tip. She didn’t deserve one. The food was even worse.

Found this place while taking a weekend class at the Ramada Inn down the street. Ordered the Stromboli twice, once for eat-in, once for carry out. The eat in experience was great: garlic knots covered in garlic butter while I waited and a staff that made sure my drink was never empty. The Stromboli was fantastic! Crispy delicate crust, fresh toppings, lot and lots of cheese, and not a bad price at all. I ordered the same thing to go a few weeks later. Was told it would be about 25 mins until it was done. Went to Target, got there about 35 minutes after placing my order. Waited another 15 mins, ordered a coke(which was a bit overpriced at over $ 2, considering I want dining in), got my food home… and the crispy, delicate crust I remembered was a doughy, undercooked lump! I spread some butter over it and popped it in a 400° oven for about 10 mins and it was delicious, but I really feel that it should never have gone out of the establishment undercooked in the first place! I don’t mind waiting a little longer(and getting my money’s worth of coke while I’m there!) in order to make sure I don’t have to try to cook it when I get home. I will definitely be back, for fine in, but I’ll check my to go food before leaving the restaurant next time!

We’ve gotten pretty good pizza at this place, but New Years Eve was a waste — the meal didn’t even include salad or dessert. Just a thin slice of dry«prime» rib, some poor mashed potatoes, and some barely cooked vegetables. Lousy food, high price, and the owner told us he spends $ 100 for a meal when he takes his G/F out, we shouldn’t complain. Um… okay.

My family and I came to visit the Bradenton area and stumbled into Mama Onesti’s. We were beyond satisfied with the staff & food! Everything from the salads, pizzas, pasta dishes and delectable desserts were delicious! The reasonable prices helped too! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a friendly atmosphere with authentic, homemade, Italian food!!!
