An okay place. Their pulled pork is good and the cornbread casserole is to die for. nbfresh squeezed lemonade is available.

We should have stuck with our first choice instead of eating here. Lee Roy Selmon’s food is AWFUL, and it was awful when we went to the first one over 12 years ago and vowed never to go back and didn’t until now. I had the steak, which was tough as nails, tasteless mash potatoes, & a Caesar salad that was loaded with garlic. I’d rather eat the excellent steak at Applebee’s(yes, Applebee’s) for the same price. The server had too many tables and we were virtually ignored until the end of the meal when she told us her hard luck story making us feel badly for her so we gave her more tip than she deserved! The cole slaw came in a cup that was the size of a 50 cent piece — I laughed out loud when I saw it. I would have sent the whole meal back but my companion asked me not to. When you’ve had excellent food and service from other establishments, paying good money for a lousy meal and lousy service is infuriating. Never again.

Our waitress was great. My dad had the grouper and the portion was on the small side. My husband and I had the pork double play. I was very impressed with the pull pork and ribs. I also had the sweet potato. I liked it a lot. My step mom had the salmon and she thought it was really good. Desert sundaes were ok, but the pecan pie looked and smelled delicious. Overall the atmosphere is good and it was an enjoyable meal. If we were locals we would be back.

Visiting the area from the east coast of Florida. Not familiar with this restaurant. Sunday night bar was empty. Food was good. Service needs improvement. Got our second round of drinks and half way done with them but still have the first round empty glasses In front of us along with our dirty dishes, but the bartender was eager to push the check on us

This place has delivered horrible service both visits. The food is mediocre and very greasy. The wings are pretty good, but nothing that I will need to return for. The owner actually came out of the kitchen one night and his frustration was evident, very uncomfortable situation. If you are just looking to grab a drink, this might be a spot to try, as long as they can get your drink order correct and timely. We waited over twenty minutes for drinks and it wasn’t even that busy.

Hope you like salt. Went for lunch with family member who’s a fan of sports bars. Nice atmosphere but his Brisket Chili and my Gumbo were so salty they were nowhere near edible. The waiter offered to take them back at no charge — well obviously we wouldn’t pay for something we couldn’t eat. No apology or offer to pay for our salad for the bad experience. Too many other places to eat to bother again.

After dining here on and off for about 10 years last night was my last visit. atmosphere, service, quality of food and presentation was noticeably poor. Sides were not offered like in years past as menu has been changed. We had to ask for specials, couldn’t return an undercooked meal as our server did not check back but only once. Too bad for what was such a decent spot.

I rate this 4 out of 5 stars because I feel their are not very many 5 star restaurants. That being said, this is one great restaurant. Great food, service started off slow but then it all came together. Like I said food was awesome and the lady who helped us was great. What made this better that they gave us a military discount because my son is in the Air Force. I love businesses that recognize our service men and women. Hats off to Lee Roy Selmon’s.

We decided to stop in here after leaving the beach only to find out that Village Idiot Pizza was closed until 8⁄15 «GONEFISHING». The hostess greeted us then said«I’ll be right back I have to go clean your table.» She seated us then our wonderful & friendly server Vanessa came over, offered us four side samples, answered all of our questions, made suggestions, brought out delicious warm bread with three butters(plain, BBQ, & my favorite cinnamon)…she told us if we came back we’d have to ask for bread because they don’t typically bring it out but since this was our first time she just brought it out for us. She was AWESOME! We sampled the baked beans, corn bread casserole, brisket chili, & mash potatoes w/mushroom gravy & were not fond of any of them. I had the blacken grouper sandwich w/broccoli & I hated the grouper it was extremely«fishy» tasting but I LOVED the broccoli. My husband had the brisket stack as an appetizer & a half slab of ribs w/fries. He enjoyed every bite! Again Vanessa was the perfect server…5 stars for Vanessa but my food was lack luster & full of artificial flavor…2 stars for the food.

My parents and I had lunch here today and we were not very impressed. My dad’s cheeseburger was very obviously frozen and defrosted and he didn’t even eat much of it because of the taste. We shared their new mac n’ cheese as a side and found it to be very salty with an odd after taste. The fried chicken sandwich, which my mom and I got, was good but we felt bad that my dad’s meal was not. The service was also less than satisfactory, as our waitress disappeared on us a couple of times. It could have been worse, but it also could have been a lot better.

Food was great. Only downside is the hostess is not very friendly and the manager not personable. Other than that our waitress was great.

Let me preface my review, I love Lee Roy Selmon’s. But this location was not the norm. I don’t know if I caught them on an off day, but the service was not up to par. The waitress was non existent, it was difficult to put our order in, and even more so to get our check. I could understand if they were packed, but there were not many people in the restaurant. The portions were also not up to Lee Roy Selmon’s standards. This would not normally rub me so badly, but the kicker was that I could also hear the staff gossiping and complaining in the back corner. I will not be coming back to this location.

The servers and manager were very attentive, 5 stars. The food was good, 3 – 4 stars. The musty smells, several varieties, emanated from the carpet(who carpets the entire dining area of a sports bar?), the kitchen as I passed by to go to the rest room, and the restroom itself. The rest room had that moldy stagnate odor, not a stench, more like a bunch of old men’s sweat socks sitting somewhere under the sink. no stars.

My family was looking for a restaurant without a wait, with a good selection of food that was appropriately priced and we found it here! Delicious food and great staff! Totally worth a 5 minute drive from Anna Maria Island to have a casual comfortable atmosphere! We tried the fried green tomatoes, buffalo chicken nachos, grilled chicken caesar salad, chicken and waffles, mahi sandwich, wings and salmon and spinach salad and there was not one bite left and everyone agreed that we would come back!!! Very enjoyable and easy on the wallet!

Great pulled pork and meatloaf. Sides are very tasty too. I agree with a previous review, support the local craft beers already! Would get an extra star if there wasn’t so many chain blah zay beers of tap!

I’ve visited this particular Lee Roy Selmons in the past and again I wasn’t disappointed. Love the memorabilia and photos on the walls and all the nice big and small screen TV’s. Terrific place to watch your favorite sports teams. This time my guest and I both had the pulled pork sandwhich and they are good!!! Comes with yummy fries. We also tried the MVP appetizer, chicken quesadilla, green fried tomatoes and wings. All were good, hot and as with everything served fast and by a friendly waitress. I’ve also had the hamburger at this Selmons, again good! I keep returning to Selmons because they are consistent and I know the good quality food I’m going to get. Can’t go wrong here!
