Thanks to the reviews I read on Unilocal,I decided to give John Gregory a try. John did the cut and Debra did the color. I am thrilled with the results!
The salon is clean and comfortable with a friendly and helpful staff. While in Sarasota, I will be a loyal client.

I have never had short hair. I was tired of my long hair and need a change. I went to Unilocal and looked at the different salons and the services they offered. This place sounded like a good fit so I booked a consultation. I met with Debra. Right off the bat she had some suggestions that I found helpful. She said she could get me in but it would be later in the day. She wanted to have the necessary time to do what needed to be done. I found the environment clean, modern and welcoming from the time I entered the establishment. Donna has many years of experience in her profession. She is personal, yet professional. It took about 3 hours to get everything right. I am totally satisfied with the results and I received about 50 likes on Facebook. She did a excellent job on the eyebrows. I had very long and thick hair. It was heavy feeling and now it is layered and shorter. The natural curl in my hair was exemplified by the skilled layering of my hair. The color was just right too. I couldn’t be happier, and I will be a loyal customer for years to come.

This man knows hair. Period. Went twice, did both cut (John) and color (Deb), and left ecstatic every time. Reasonable pricing, excellent service. My go to salon when in Florida. They also offer Mani and pedi services, which I haven’t tried but hope to remember next time I’m scheduling a visit… highly recommended.

I got my bangs trimmed here and it looked okay when I left (they always seem to have a trick to making it look okay when you leave). But then I came home and pulled my hair into a ponytail and it was completely uneven. The annoying thing about it is that I drove out of my way to get there and I really don’t have time to go all the way back to have it fixed. Also, they are only open Thursday Friday and Saturday and I waited all week to get my hair done because of their ridiculous schedule. Needless to say o won’t be back. The time before this time I got a hair trim and it was 60 $. That is absurd!!!

Although I live in Venice, Tarin is worth the drive. She turned a not so good color and highlight into a gorgeous head of hair. It is very easy to get an appointment and they will even stay late if needed. I will not go anywhere else. Thanks John Gregory Salon!

A friend recommended John Gregory about 3 years ago and they are the only ones I have trusted my hair to since. Deborah does my color and it always looks beautiful. The girls they hire to shampoo and rinse are incredible-​the head, scalp, and neck massage they give is AMAZING!!!
John is magical when it comes to cutting my hair, I always feel ready for the catwalk. The amount of compliments I receive from friends and strangers about my color and style confirms that my choice in this salon was the best one ever.

After much research, I finally decided to give Tarin at John Gregory a try… and I was not disappointed. I cannot remember the last time someone gave me so much attention for a haircut! I am very happy with the results! The salon is nice, clean and friendly.

The salon is clean, trendy and everyone was so nice! It’s completely off the beaten path, so I would have never had the pleasure of this wonderful hair experience had it not been for Unilocal.Tarin did my hair, I got highlights and a cut, and it turned out exactly how I wanted. I read reviews on Unilocal and decided to try John Gregory salon. How fortunate for me that Tarin had an opening! I walked in needing color and left feeling like I just had the most amazing makeover. I needed a cut but didn’t know what I wanted just self conscious about going too short. I left with the most flattering haircut I have ever had! Don’t even think twice call and get an appt!

I admit I am the ultimate ‘fraidy-​cat’ when it comes to getting my hair done. After about eight solid years of letting my hair go completely unattended to, I decided that my graying rat’s nest really some attention. Yes, I would cut my bangs with dull scissors at 6am with blurry eyes! That — and washing regularly — was about it. SO, needing my first haircut in eight years, and needing coloring to hide my new graying life, I did a Google search on Bradenton Hairdressers, and saw a good review for Tarin at John Gregory.
Still skeptical that anyone could fix ‘me’, I bravely got an appointment and explained to Tarin exactly what I wanted. I was honestly petrified that I could end up looking worse than before, as I wanted blonde coloring, but did not want to look like a cheap floozy, or a wacky modern cut (am a traditionalist).
Tarin listened, and she masterfully cut my hair and bangs to perfection, and not too much, I asked for her to take baby-​steps with the extent of cutting my hair, which she fully respected, and cut only the amount I requested. My bangs are now defined and lovely, and I am now on the road to having nicer looking and healthier hair. I know Tarin probably wanted to cut more, but I greatly appreciate that she respected my wishes to start off slowly (baby-​steps). Just as importantly, she match the natural tones of my hair color and lightened it all without looking the least bit cheap or tacky. My hair is a beautiful color now, different tones of blonde meets darker, very very natural looking, no more gray, even though it’s been two months already since I’ve had this done. YAY!!!
I can honestly say that I left the salon feeling like a new person! I could not be more pleased. I have still neglected to call Tarin and thank her (still plan to) but for now feel that she truly deserves a good review. Thank you Tarin for making me feel SO MUCH better about myself, and now have more confidence.
p. s. the salon is very clean, neat and has a very professional atmosphere.

Tarin is an artist with a talent for determining what color/​cut are most
becoming for her clients. She has an eye when it comes to
obtaining the perfect color results not only for me but for all her clients, She constantly strives for perfection and achieves it.
No detail is too small to escape her attention and she takes all the time necessary to obtain the desired results. I cannot say enough about her dedication and
artistry. You will not be disappointed.
The truth of the matter is that the entire staff at John Gregory are experienced
professionals who produce top notch results. They also have warm personalities
which make clients feel comfortable. The owners, Debra and John, set the tone
for the entire salon and they succeed admirably in creating a first class salon where
the clients’ needs are met every time. They take plenty of time for consultations
with each client which is a real bonus.

A wonderful salon! Searched for a long time to find such a wonderful salon and Tarin does a great job with my hair. Always walk out feeling great! I now have my mom and many coworkers visiting John Gregory.

I moved away from the area awhile ago and saw no reviews on this place and thought they deserved to get on the map here on Unilocal.No doubt, having a great stylist in your arsenal of service providers is like having a excellent mechanic or attorney. Their work and talent is indispensible to your life and you know you can count them doing excellent work every single time. In all of my years bouncing and trying stylist after stylist in the Sarasota-​Bradenton area, I happened to cross paths with Tarin, a former acquaintence and stylist now for a long while at John Gregory. She is one of those lucky individuals who has actually found their calling and passion in life and parlayed it into a real career. And not only that, but possesses the genuine talent to excecute on your vision or offer real expertise on what’s going to work for you or not. I have never had a bad haircut experience when Tarin has cut and styled my hair. I am sure, at some point in our lives, we have all been familiar with that feeling of trepidation or dread at the hands of a new stylist when you know something has taken a turn for the worst. Last I recall, Tarin was becoming quite handy with the keratin complex treatment and hair extensions in addition to already being great with hair and makeup for formal occasions like weddings, proms, etc.
The John Gregory salon itself is cute, boutique-​y and simply stylish. One of those places where they offer you something to drink if you need to wait on your stylist a little. The staff there, employees and owners alike, are quite nice and down to earth. No snobby, über trendy airs when it comes to their customers from my own personal observation. I can’t speak for anyone else’s talents there, but, from what I understand, the collective experience is long-​running and very professional. The salon itself is hidden in an unasumming office park just east of I-​75 on SR70.
So if you are new to Manatee or North Sarasota, or are looking to try a new salon, give John Gregory a shot. Methinks you will not regret it in the least.
