This was our first move with movers and we had many questions upfront. Amanda was AMAZING and answered all of my questions thoroughly and promptly. They were very easy to get in touch with as well. I couldn’t be happier with the planning side of our move. It was easy and everyone we interacted with was friendly. The packers were careful and very friendly as were the loaders and the driver. The driver kept us informed the whole way and even gave us the exact date that he would be at our new house. The unloading crew was friendly as well. The ONLY reason that I am not giving them 5 stars is because we were told that whatever the packers have to disassemble, they would reassemble upon arriving at our new house and they didn’t. I’m not sure if there was just a miscommunication about that or what happened. In the end assembling a few beds and putting the legs back on the couch etc. is not the end of the world, but I was disappointed. Overall, we were thrilled with everyone that we interacted with and they the claims department was prompt in sending us a check for the full value of some cheap items that got broken in the move. I would completely recommend this company and will use them again!

Save your furniture and money. I hired Mergenthaler at considerable extra expense to insure that my furniture would be moved with the utmost respect by professionals. Instead, the team of movers, when they were working instead of smoking on break, broke a glass shelf, ripped the door off of a VERY expensive armoire, lifted an expensive antique buffet by it’s drawer, breaking it, and wrecked my stairwell wall and handrail. To add insult to injury, the total bill at the end of the day was twice the amount the estimator had given me. We all have bad days and I could forgive a series of blunders, HOWEVER, it has been two months since my move and I still can not get the claims office to communicate with me. While the local customer service people«talk» a good game, they apparently have no authority. I have moved over 15 times with this and other companies and can not stress strongly enough to look elsewhere. This company«talks» a good game but does not deliver. You’d be better off hiring your nephew or pet monkey.

I have used this company twice and have had inexperienced movers who were slow, didn’t seem to know what they were doing, spent more time trying to figure«where» they were going to put a box than moving one. When I brought this to the managers attention the response was«oh well». You would be better off getting a couple of college kids. At least they wouldn’t stand around for hours trying to figure things out on your nickel. I will never hire this company again.

We had many bulky items and furniture to move across the country after a death in the family. Krissy, the move coordinator arranged everything quite well from the pick-up location. The movers packed up everything and even built crates for the unusual shaped items. We were given a range of delivery dates for the following week. This was fine as there wasn’t any hurry for the delivery. Upon the arrival of the 1st possible date of delivery, I emailed Krissy to inquire an update. Krissy emailed back that she did not have an update but would let us know as an update became available. A few days later, we tried again to get any update. We were left wondering«is tomorrow delivery day?» Finally a week after packing up the items, we were told that the driver had been sick and that the items hadn’t even been loaded for the cross-country moving truck. We were disappointed that it took so long to get this update. There was a complete lack comunication between the storage place, the driver and the«move coodinator» office. We should have been told that the items hadn’t left yet and once picked-up, would be given a more accurate delivery date. The moving guys were great. The driver called before delivery. He had 2 others to help with the heavy lifting. They brought everything from the truck into the house. Every box, etc. was accounted for from start to finish. I would recommend this company with the some reservations due to lack of information/updates in regards of delivery dates.

This is the first time I am using helpers to help my moving. I need extra hands to help me loading the truck. The first time I called, Chrissy took it and she answered very professionally and not pushy at all. So eventhough this is the 1st company I called, I didnt bother to call other companies. When I finally knew more about my move, I called Chrissy again and arranged everything. I asked for 3 men to help me out. And Chrissy explained this and that clearly and actually took away my worrieness that I had bout having helpers. On the D day, I had 3 guys coming to my house. Troy, Cody and Brandon. I was a little bit weary about Troy’s size(he’s seem too lean for this job-but then my skeptical was proven wrong later), the other two look ‘right’ But then I learnt that Troy is actually the most experienced one which I can see that through his work. All the 3 men worked pretty effiecient. Troy and Cody lifted up all the heavy furnitures while Brandon moved the remaining boxes and other empty furniture out to the garage. Then Troy would stay inside the truck and packed the truck neatly all the way through the ceiling while Cody kept sending him boxes and Brandon was working inside the house to take apart my furniture. Brandon had to deal with my Hub’s antique dining table — which is the most ‘pain’ one in our move and he treated it VERYCAREFULLY, wrapped it really nice with paddings. I was EXTREMELY happy with their work! The only thing I feel they could have done better is to fill in the empty spaces on the bookshelves with more stuffs, so there are less unused spaces there. But maybe that’s because I am not exactly a super organized person so they didnt know exactly which of my stuffs can fit into those spaces. So I had to give them the stuffs that I had in my mind would fit in. 2 thumbs up for the field crew for sure. As for administrative crew, I like Chrissy better. She sounds very professional, understanding, and courteous.
