Went for lunch and I was impressed on how good it was… Gyros are great and so is the hummus and pita bread.

I know this just closed recently, but I had eaten there several times since I lived nearby and love gyros. Their lamb and chicken gyros were great, but I can understand why this place must have closed… the atmosphere inside felt so awkward and not so «Greek/Mediterranean». The servers were also awkward… It is unfortunate that this place failed. So long ZaZa’s!

the food was great but the service was really strange. I went with my wife for dinner and the restaurant looked like it was set up for chipotle style line service. We were ushered to a table and had a clueless waitress proceed to take our order. I asked for a hot tea and she looked at me like I was smoking something(never mind the tea bags were right behind her). Also we noticed the manager schmoozing the other customers but completely avoiding us for some reason. She also looked like she had been drinking. I’m not sure why this place is so highly rated, maybe if it were presented differently. Please note that this review is several months tardy. I might have to try Zaza again to see if this wasn’t just a fluke.

The second worst day in my life was when I lost my wife. She was killed by the drink, falling to her death at the factory tour at Busch Gardens in Virginia. Yet the worst day in my life came recently when I realized that Zaza Mediterranean Grill had closed it’s doors… for the final time. I saw the owner(Ahmed Hammas?) traveling off in the sunset in late model three series BMW featuring the m sport package. I have rumors he returned to his hometown of Marbella, Spain and is working for a very wealthy Sheikh by the name of Ashmawi. Today I spend my meals at Chipotle just filing my stomach before i throw away the remainder of my subpar food. I stare down at my Barbacoa burrito bowl hoping that it will somehow transform into the Ali Baba pita. But it doesn’t and it never will. I recently gave my boss two weeks notice and will be traveling to Marbella in search of Ahmad and his eclectic recipes. I will update all of you throughout my voyage. I will succeed.

Love Love Love ZaZa!!! my favorite mediterranean/greek place around here. I’ve never had a bad experience! The loaded fries(not sure what the menu name is) with the feta cheese and the olives and all sorts of goodies is out of this world good! love the crispy onions over the rice and lentels. Hummus excellent! Really clean and cool place, great service!

I loved ZaZa’s but they are now sadly out of business… should have known things were not going good when they ran a Groupon & LivingSocial in consecutive weeks.

ZaZa’s, I dream about you every night. — The restaurant opened up across the street from our old apartment, and I was thrilled to find a Mediterranean place so close by. It quickly became my favorite place to get dinner. The restaurant is small, accommodating maybe 30 people inside at a time. Colorful, yet clean — very inviting. You can walk up to the register and order take-out or seat yourself and sit for what will surely be a mouthwatering meal. The owners are very attentive — they always made a stop at the table to make sure everything was up to par. If we ever needed anything special done, they made sure it happened. I only have 2 complaints about the place — 1– the severs rarely stop by the tables, so if you want refills you need to get them yourself(the staff never seemed to mind) and 2– parking can be a pain. There is an entrance to the parking garage around the corner and lot parking, but both are often full. The food… oh the food… I always ALWAYS order the chicken kabob platter. It comes with Arabian rice((rice with lentils and a tomato-y sauce(I am still trying to duplicate the sauce)) and sauteed veggies(squash and zucchini), as well as pita slices and tatziki. I LOVE their tatziki! Perfect consistancy, just tangy enough — perfect…

Superb food and a real value for money. The place could do with some improvement on the ambience. its very conveniently located off congress ave. The Gyros and Shawarmas(i hope I got the spelling correct) are really nice.

This is a good place to go if you are looking for a quick Greek meal. As a vegetarian I have tried both the Greek and the Village salads. Both were very good. They also have excellent hummus with crispy pita bread. I enjoy it and highly recommend it. They are also very reasonably priced.

— Good Greek food — Prompt service — Fast food style so no fuss with service — Cheap for the quality and so awesome value for money Update 12.24.2011: I went to ZaZa’s for lunch today and the place was closed. There was no sign telling for how long or when they will re-open. I just hope that it is not closed for good :(

I really like this place. If they offered feta saganaki, I’d give them five stars! The atmosphere is a nice sit down for some quick Greek food. There are some hookahs around, but I’ve never actually seen anyone using them. You can sit inside or outside. This time of year in Florida, I prefer inside. I have been here a few times, and the staff has been really nice. Everything that I ordered so far has been really good. The feta fries are so fattening and yet so addicting. I normally get the falafel wrapped in pita. It’s delicious!

So, it’s Saturday afternoon and I turned on the tube to keep me company while I finished up a photo illustration job. When the language changed from English to Arabic, I took a look. It was the movie«Amereka» on Sundance and this lady was making falafel. As I watched, I really wanted those falafels. Surely there must be someplace around Delray with falafel just as good. Then I went to Unilocal where ZaZa’s had some pretty awesome reviews. Now, I don’t want to ridicule the taste of the other Unilocal reviewers, but we must have grown up on other planets. ZaZa’s is located in an area with tons of new restaurants. Most of them pretty slickly designed. Not ZaZa’s. Ok, not fancy so the food’s got to be good… right? Maggie order the fish of the day, Mahi Mahi. I order, yes you know, falafel. Both came with 2 sides. We both ordered grilled vegetables and rice for her, french fries for me. Here’s what we got. the Mahi was a 4″ x 5″ slab covered with a chopped tomato sauce over rice. The falafel was 5 balls in the middle of zuccini and onions on one side and french fries on the other. The first thing i noticed was a strong fry smell emanating from the potatoes. They were sitting in a pool of oil. I had to send them back, and because the server didn’t think they could be drained, she brought rice instead. The fish tasted… well, fishy. The sauce was fresh. Rice was nicely flavored with fava beans. And the falafel was very crispy and not at all oily. Seems someone in the kichen knows how to drain fried food. An ok taste but not something to drive up from Miami for. It was a rather disappointing experience. The lesson here is that when it comes to food, you just can’t trust someone else’s opinion. But that doesn’t apply to me. You can trust me.

Went for the first time tonight, not knowing what to expect. Arrived and were greeted right away by the friendly staff. They offer table service for eat in. The menu is large enough for variety but not too complicated. It is not a «greek» restaurant but they have most of the good things found at a Greek place plus many more options. For $ 10 I had the Chicken Kabob with 2 sides, I choose Greek Salad and Rice. It also came with some Pita and Tzatziki which was great and unexpected. The chicken was moist, the rice was fresh. I enjoyed the meal. Everything was cooked fresh to order. The ambiance is clean and simple. Its not too large or complicated. Just good fresh food, at a fair price. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and attentive. Overall this place is perfect for lunch or dinner as far as my standards go.

Flip flops casual. Lamb a bit too salty, however overall not bad. Free-self served drinks. Not a bad place for a casual bite alone or a friend.

I just ate at ZaZas again — the food was delicious. We have now tried nearly everything on the menu — tonight I had the whole fish — which was excellent. It was grilled to perfection and served with a light olive oil and lemon sauce with fresh vegetables and a side of homemade sauce. The service was also very good; they brought out the free dessert again and even offered us an after dinner cocktail on the house — sambucca, scotch or dessert wine. I will be back at ZaZa’s very soon — I just wish they were open for Mediterranean style breakfast /eggs! Don’t know if they’re still doing hookahs and sandwiches special for $ 5.99 but if they are, it’s the best value in S. Florida. Tonight at dinner we sat next to a couple from Miami Beach that drove up because they prefer ZaZa’s to Opa’s and have made the trip before to eat there. I have a feeling the place will starting getting very packed — I just hope they don’t forget to take care of their old customers!

Great Food! Under ten bucks, which is always a plus!!! I strolled in here last Wednesday for lunch with a couple co-workers and had an excellent lunch! The gyro was really good and atmosphere is super chill. Really fast for lunch, too. Think of it as a Chipotle style, quick serve restaurant, but healthy and good! I had the Steak gyro, which totally good and you can dress it up any way you like… with tomatoes, olives, lettuce, whatever you want… one of my friends had the salad and it looked so good and fresh. Oh, yeah the Tzatziki sauce on top is the best I have had in South Florida. The fries are really good… satisfying. Overall, a great place for a quick *healthy* lunch or dinner. But, don’t be put off by the«healthy» part… it is healthy and actually tastes good!
