We have been getting take out from China Lane for several years despite its mediocre food because of the convenience. Most often any dishes with chicken taste old. The chicken tastes and smells like it was prepared days earlier. Tonight was no different, except I finally decided to call them on it. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant enough and agreed to send another dish, this time with beef. Accidentally they sent another chicken dish with old, stale chicken. When we called again she said it was too bad and they wouldn’t replace it again. We asked to speak to the owner or manager; neither were available. We strongly suggest that they not deserve your patronage.

Any place can have a bad night but I just haven’t had one at China Lane and don’t get what some of the other reviewers say. I’m pretty damn fussy about my Chinese food and find that 80% of the Chinese restaurants I’ve tried over the past 10 years are a total waste with lousy food and filthy conditions.(in NJ and FL). So far this is the best Chinese food I’ve had in this area and in NJ in quite a while. Hot & sour soup the best I’ve had since Ghengis Cohen restaurant in LA. Nice dark color, slightly smokey taste like it should have and not all«gelled» and gloppy like most places. Wonton soup was well better than average with nice thin homemade noodles not the typical mass produced thick ones. Good broth too and actually had some slices of roast pork which you rarely see anymore. Fried Rice was decent and not oily, but not spectacular. Tonight we had the BBQ spare ribs which were good. Not super soft and tender but tasty and certainly tender enough. The chicken in garlic sauce was superb. The best in years. Nice brown sauce, good garlic flavor, just a touch of sweetness, & mildly spicy. No excess thickener, sugar, or oil like most places. Perfectly cooked vegetables too. The sautéed string beans were equally good. Really good. The place was very clean, neat, and roomy, maybe not so fancy and plush.

Service is very friendly but food is just not good, very disappointing. Fried Rice even with pork has little flavor. Boneless spare ribs, good one time, poor the next time.

It’s rare to find good Chinese food in this area and I’m ok with it just being decent but this place was horrible. We ordered delivery. Shrimp with lobster sauce and bourbon chicken. The shrimp weren’t cleaned properly and the sauce had no flavor. The chicken was gross and didn’t look like chicken. The fried rice was hard and looked old… We literally threw everything in the garbage without eating it. Not to mention it was expensive compared to other Chinese delivery places. Waste of money. Sorry to say never again

Food is phenomenal and is extremely quick with carry out. My favorite is the Pork Fried Rice. Contains onion sprouts which is rare and LOTS of pork. Love coming here, especially with the coupons. The staff are extremely friendly. Only suggestion would to be adding seating for waiting area and possibly add more tables.

We have ordered delivery here for years… It was always good… Unfortunately everything has changed. Im sorry China Lane… I wont order from you again. The last two times… the food has been terrible. We ordered three dinners… each one was awful. Not taking a credit card has always been a sore spot for delivery too. I dont always have cash… and prefer not to use a check. We will miss you.

Delicious spring rolls, actually made fresh. We happened in off the highway while traveling north, but our lunch here turned out very good.

We recently moved here from NY where we are used to great Chinese food(take out)…so picking out good take out food right now is a matter of chance. We ordered from the combo menu. I had chicken with black beans… the portions were very small. Only 4 pieces of chicken in with more vegetables than meat. The meat was good, but not enough for the price we paid. The veggie fried rice was tasteless. The egg roll was tasteless and empty. The wonton soup was in a tiny cup. The soup itself was tasty, but the wontons(2) were tasteless and whatever meat was in there was inedible. I spit it out. My husband had boneless spareribs… he said they were just OK. He agreed with me about the tasteless wontons and fried rice. Being there are a million Chinese takeout places here in BB, I’ll try someplace else. We won’t be coming back.

We had been to China Lane a number of times, as well as have done take-out. Food was reasonably acceptable, nothing special, except for this past Saturday. Our grandaughter was over and she wanted Chinese, so we decided to do take-out. The food was some of the worst food we had ever eaten. The fried rice was terribly dry and appeared to have been pre-made and siting in the steam table. Lo-mein was also dry, along with the chicken and the ribs were extremely fatty. We now need to find a new Chinese restaurant, as China Lane is off our list.

Not out of this world. tablecloth on the tables, linen napkins make this feel like a higher end restaurant, however, the food is just average. Staff is quick and prices are good, so I will probably come back because it’s close to home, but the tastes weren’t «popping»…just there.

We ordered vegetarian dishes, tofu with veggies, one hot and one white sauce. Both were delicious. Vegetable rolls were crispy. Ordered from the lunch specials menu, prices were reasonable. About $ 15 for two of us.

It was Christmas Eve in Ol’ Boynton Beach and we wanted to avoid going to the China Van in Delray for the 4th year in a row. So we decided to branch out. China Lane is decent but not great, granted the hot and sour soup was inedible, the other soups at my table of 8 were eatable. And those on high blood pressure medication(who hadn’t tasted salt since their last dip in the ocean 20+ years ago) thought it was great. The portions are of a nice size, especially for the crowd that I was with who each took a box to go. Don’t order the tofu. The veggies: broccoli and green beans were great. The garlic sauce delicious. Honey spare ribs: A bit too sweet. Pork chow fun: Decent, too much pork(This is my health conscious dad complaining here). Pepper steak, and shrimp and lobster sauce(staples in any American-Chinese restaurant): Decent. Don’t go for the food. Go for the round American-Chinese food restaurant tables with white linen tablecloths, the combo-special that allows you to «feel» as if you’re getting a deal, and the(in)famous chinese food restaurant ice cream(ask for the creamsicle that the don’t mention as an option). Will I be back? Probably. Will I go running? Definitely not.

save your dollars, this restaurant is overpriced and everything is ala cart even soup is extra. meal was just okay. place has no atmosphere, service was good. there are much better rest in the area. like china gardens or china lane which give a complete meal. and others. I love china garden in delray, never had a bad meal.
