Excellent Sunday brunch. The Vienna pancakes were delicious(would have been even more delicious with more of the tasty pistachio butter), as was the quiche. Nice atmosphere and a great patio. The drink list looked comprehensive. Service was attentive and friendly.

It has been 6 years since I was in Boyne City, and BOY, have things changed! The dining choices are exciting! Tonight we chose Café Santé on Water St. The featured offerings are typical, French/Belgian Bistro fare… Moules & Frite(mussels & French fries), Steak & Frite, however, the international twist includes wood-fired pizzas, pasta dishes, and Greek inspired lamb entrees. They have an extensive hand-crafted cocktail list(I chose the Hemingway daiquiri and hubby had an Aviation). The highlight of tonight’s meal was the appetizers. The chicken paté served with tangy, whole-grain mustard, pickled red onions, and toast points was quite tasty. The lightly breaded calamari was perfectly prepared and served with a remoulade that did not over power. We devoured 2 loaves of the fresh French bread brought to the table. The moules prepared in the classic French fashion were predictable according to the hubby. My hangar steak was well-seasoned and perfectly medium rare. The star of the meal was the frites! Served in a cone of brown paper, they are hot, crispy yumminess! This is a spot worth the trip! Boyne Appétit!

Stopped for dinner about 7 on a Friday night. Was pleasantly surprised there was no wait. DH has the morel tart for an appetizer. I’m not a matter shroom person but it sure looked good. He said it was delicious. DH had the pappardelle bolognese it was excellent. The noodles were homemade and delicious I had the whitefish with duchesses potatoes. This was probably the best whitefish I’ve had. It was very moist with a delicious light lemon sauce. We will definitely be back.

This place was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. Server Brandon was serving for the last day at this restaurant. He was pleasant, happy, and very helpful! They lost a good one with this young guy. Anyway, the food was excellent. We had the pretzel, the side of potatoes, salad and then the pizza was mozzarella, and basil. Was wow that a treat! We will be back!

First time at restaurant and Greg offered us a free appetizer! Yahoo, thanks and made our experience special. Had the Belgium sampler and it was a good mix of light and dark. Went on Monday night which is half off pizza night. Pizza was definitely European-style thin crust. Pappardelle Bolognese was Rick with meat and lasagna-type noodles. Restaurant was clean with a laid-back atmosphere and live guitar player. Dessert was rich chocolate pavola. Overall good dinner and will return.

We travel to Boyne every summer and Café Sante is always a priority stop for the entire family. I have never had a bad or mediocre meal here. Great ambiance, attentive servers and crazy good food. Even the brussels sprouts were so good no one wanted to share! My personal favorite dish is the Bolognese pasta. Also they have delicious French fries that have this highly addictive Remoulade dipping sauce. Café Sante is a must stop if you’re anywhere near the area!

First time at Café Sante’, very good food. On an overcast earl January in northern Michigan ski country, when the weather was not cooperating, this was the best choice for a casual, nice lunch. Upscale, relaxed, eclectic, but not pretentious, with good food. Slightly more than some restaurants in price, far above in quality. I will be back. The beverage selection from Beer to wine and cocktails was a bonus, and positive addition.

Food was great the first night, but not as good on the second visit. My wife and I had two steak frites to go our first night in town, and despite the food having cooled down by the time we got to eat it, it was delicious. So we went back with more people and ate in the restaurant a few nights later, we both ordered the steak frites again, but it wasn’t as good. The take out fries were a bit soggier, which was actually pleasant, while the fries eaten at the café were just average. The steak was also better at home despite being cold, and the cook on the steak was not quite done enough on the second visit for my wifes order of «medium». My mom ordered a grilled cheese and fries but didn’t like it… but I think that is what happens when you order off of the kids menu.

Another weekend vacation, another trip to Café Sante. Had Gaola as our server again, and she was just as good as we remembered. This time I had a citrus gimlet, Salmon Florentine, and Pot de Crème. All excellent. Finished every bite of everything ordered, and as someone with a very small appetite, that is rare. As with last time, the food is of excellent quality(and admittedly not cheap!), yet the atmosphere of the place is nice and casual. No room for stuffy attitudes here! Sit near the kitchen and you’ll hear the wait staff teasing and laughing with each other in the kitchen. And it was a busy night! When the staff is still happy and not darting around stressed even on a busy night, you know it’s a good establishment.

This was my second visit to Café Santé, and both were wonderful experiences. Coincidentally, Brandon was our server both times, and both times we asked for his menu recommendations. Both times I took one of his suggestions — trying the pasta Bolognese on our first visit and the lamb kebab tonight. Both choices were excellent. The menu has a Belgian flare, including a number of «moules/frites» options(mussels and fries), and offering a wide variety of beers — both Belgian and local Michigan. They also have a «Featured» pizza each evening — e.g., in July it was a strawberry pizza!(I haven’t tried this, but friends did and raved about how yummy it was.) Service was timely and the live music was very pleasant — not too loud, in tune, and just generally a nice addition to our meal. We were also pleasantly surprised to see how busy the restaurant was on a Monday night NOT«in season.» Clearly this place does a very good job on all fronts!

Typically we go to Petoskey for a night out when we are up north. This time, we decided to give Boyne City a try and it was a great decision! Café Sante has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. We also had a couple drinks and those were great too! If you are ever in town, I would highly recommend going to Café Sante!

First time to dine in here. Place is cozy, near the lake front, stratigically located. Pizzas are great tasting but love to order their Calamari again & again & again– delicious coupled with their homemade dipping sauce. Tiramisu for dessert! It didnt stay on the table for long. Gone in 60 sec.

Our server was Renee. Started with the Escargot. Very tasty. We had the Lamb Kabob and the Filet. Lamb was very tasty. The highlight was the tzatziki had a little kick to it. Maybe Chipotle? My wife had a perfect prepared Filet. The Tiramsu was a large portion and delicious.

This place continues to impress me. Just wanted to freshen up my review as the old one is nearly 3 years old. Have been back multiple times. Will continue to come back. I have yet to try anything on the menu that wasn’t excellent. Service is always good. I feel like you can be in and out of here in an hour if you’d like, or linger for a couple hours if you want to do that, too. Just can’t say enough good things about this place.

Very cute brunch place that I had the good fortune of stumbling upon(and by stumble, I mean Unilocaling and hitting up the highest rated Unilocal establishment) while vacationing in Boyne City, MI with a group of friends. The menu had such great sounding offerings, we had a hard time making up our minds. I ended up going with the eggs benedict, which was delicious. Instead of English muffins, the benedict was served atop the baguette that is made in house. Though I still prefer the English muffins version, that was very original. It was the first time I’ve seen a grinder sandwich on the menu. The half I shared with my friend was pretty good, but nothing I’d write home about. Would come back to try the croque madame, that looked really good! Very cute restaurant with beautiful views of the lake, nice and accommodating waitstaff, and very solid menu offerings.

Stopped in a few years ago when we were driving up to Mackinac. Great location on the water, and lovely ambiance. We were there for lunch and I had the eggplant and butternut squash salad that had a really light dressing with a side of fingerling potatoes. I still think about it. If I was up that way again, I would have to stop in!
