This gets a star for its rustic charm and Americana. I hadn’t been to a laundromat since the 80s, and it looks exactly like a laundromat from the 80s. Half of the equipment was«out of order,» the A/C was a no go, and there was a payphone. A PAYPHONE! There’s a telecommunications coelacanth for you. The owner, or who I thought was the owner, seemed to be pleasant and good-natured but the place was fairly run down. With that said, I could have gone to LMARIES. The white, climate-controlled structure offered all the conveniences a modern person could ask for. However, it was soulless… and it wanted you to purchase a card to use on the machines. Forget that, I want a coin-op with character. I’d choose Kirk’s over that any day.
