Our daughter goes to WKU and this is one of her favorite places. However, I am definitely too old for colleges bars anymore, alas and alack. The place was very busy for the Hilltoppers game, but a bar in a college town with the name of Hilligans should be prepared for a crowd, especially when they are calling their place a sports bar. Service was slow, there did not seem to be any pattern to the tables. No one was seating customers, we waited a long time for someone to come take our order. We had drinks, salsa trio, and pizza bread, and the beer was skunky, the rum and Coke had flat Coke, and knowing this is a college bar, I wasn’t surprised. The beers lines definitely need to be cleaned, and continued cleaning on a regular basis. The pizza bread was good and served hot, with marinara for dipping. The salsa, quest, and the guacamole dips were good, but the tortilla chips were less than great. They weren’t very crisp. The crowd was typically boisterous, as college students with alcohol in them tend to be. If you are a twenty or even thirty something then you will probably love this place. Ages 21 and up only, so don’t try to drag kids along.

I was in Bowling Green for parents weekend. My daughter recently turned 21 so we went to have something to eat and a drink. This seems like a typical college bar/eatery. We sat down and no server even looked our way. Had several just ignore us. Finally my daughter went to get someone to wait on us. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The cheese bread was very good. My beer was lukewarm. Yep, sure is a college bar. It has a nice compliment of TVs showing WKU football game.

Awesome place to hang out, good drink prices and surprisingly good pizza. Good place to grab a beer and and play some pool. Nightlife is pretty lively.

I was visiting Bowling Green this weekend and stopped in for a beer. The atmosphere is great and the staff was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions about good places to visit while I was in town. A special thanks to my bartender Ashley. I will definitely be back!

the close proximity to an institution of higher learning only serves to highlight the level of idiocy i am now witness to.(sweet sweet irony) but i guess that’s what sports bars are all about. remember to tip your servers.

Conveniently nestled off the campus of WKU, Hilligans is a sports bar that defies the norm. It is a great place to go with friends or go alone, with an overflowing menu of food and drink alike. The pizza is the best in town. They keep the place clean, fresh, and well lit. Hilligans has class while still allowing you to feel comfortable and at home. There is no other bar in Bowling Green that compares.
