This place is like an Bass Pro Shop/Outdoor World meets Dicks sporting goods. They don’t sell boats but the sell things for boats. Tackle GALORE, guns, rifles, bows, and clothing. Tents and all your camping needs. Bathrooms were clean and staff was nice and friendly. Coke cooler for single drink purchase was super cold which made my bottle of water that much more enjoyable. When we travel back to BG, KY we will make a special stop here again.

This place is fantastic if you want to feel like you are inconveniencing the employees by walking into their store. The customer service is absolutely horrible. The cashiers are rude, the managers are even worse. I had a return on a coat that I had been holding onto for a while, until I made my way up to Bowling Green again. I live in Nashville, no where near a Gander Mtn — returns are not so easy. The manager was super rude and inconvenienced by me, and would not take the coat back or give me store credit, nothing. I had the receipt and all the tags were still attached to the coat. I will not even go into my terrible experience buying a gun at this store. JUSTDON’T DOIT. Buy somewhere else.

My husband is an «outdoorsey» kind of guy and so for the last three years we’ve driven through Bowling Green on our way North or back home in Tennessee he has mentioned wanting to stop at Gander Mountain. Well, finally the stars were aligned and we had some time to kill. Growing up in the Chicago surburbs, I’ve had my share of Gander Mountain experiences. Yes, it is a chain but the prices are very reasonable compared to the Bass Pro monstrosities that you find in Nashville. The store is incredibly clean and the staff are quite approachable. It is an ideal location to pull off from a long drive and just want around for a change of pace. On this particular occasion, my husband and I were interested in viewing some of the skeet and trap weapons. The clerk behind the counter was very nice and clearly the«gun section» was the most popular in the entire store. Aside from this department there are plenty of other goodies to look at or demo as a lot of the camping equipment is set up for your viewing pleasure.

This is Gander Mountain. Outdoor superstore. And they do have just about anything you could want for anything outdoor related from fishing to camping and everything in-between. I’ve bought fishing supplies here along with with cooking stuff and some other random things. I’d say their prices overall are pretty good and have a good selection. However the reason for only a two star review is the customer service. I’ve gone in the store numerous times for 15+ minutes and not a single employee walked up and asked how I was doing, if I need help, what i’m looking for, etc. The one time I needed some real help in the fishing department I found an employee and he was super helpful. But that was after I tracked him down. The last time I was in there I had to interrupt two employees talking to pay for my items. No ‘thank you’, ‘have a good day’ nothing. Just back to flirting with their co-worker. If you know what you want and don’t expect any sort of customer service, then you’ll be alright. If you have questions or want to be recognized, go elsewhere.
