I tried My Place because of the reviews about the wings and the garlic crab. We ordered the whiting, wing, and shrimp combo with cole slaw and fries for $ 29.99(wayyyyy overpriced for the 1 piece of fish, 6, shrimp, and 6 wings.) Let’s just say the cole slaw was the best thing on the small plate. The shrimp were dry and chewy, however the garlic wings were good. The fish tasted like it had been fried in old grease. The service was fast and friendly. Really wanted to like this place but was sadly disappointed.

I was really looking forward to trying this place out today. Drove all the way there at noon… since their store hours say they open at 11… only to be told they were closed and to come back at 1pm. Tacky and unprofessional.

I really wanted to be able to write a raving review after anticipating the opening of what is said to be «the type of seafood carryout PG County needed», but I can’t based on my first visit! First, let me say if you follow my reviews, I’m nothing but«honest and fair» in my assessment when it comes to food and recommendations. I’m the«real deal customer» that refer other customers whole heartedly when I’m feeling a place, thus I don’t recommend lightly! I attempted to checkout«MPS&W» on their opening night, which didn’t pan out. The fact that it was jam packed to the door and the only seating(4 – 5 stools and a bench) were taken on this nasty rainy night, struck my attention and further desire to comeback on another hopefully less than busy night! Afterall, all these«opening nighters»(folks) must of known something or were just plain hungry for«good» carryout food to jump on Noah’s Arc to partake. Lol I returned the following Wednesday night, before the 1 inch of snowstorm that paralyzed the«DMV» and decided to take advantage of the 10% off 1st visit app special for their $$$ menu. I was interested in trying the«Collard Green Coleslaw»; something new and different, so I ordered it as my side with the«Fried Shrimp Basket» meal. 1. The Fried Shrimp Basket(8 pcs) was fried too hard! I enjoy the idea of dredging them through cormeal, but the frying time should of been adjusted, due to that method. Being from Connecticut, I’m very picky when it comes to seafood and how it’s prepared. IJS 2. The«Collard Green Coleslaw» was disappointing, as I was expecting a «wilted warm drizzle dressing» type salad and not the mayonnaise based traditional coleslaw, but that was my assumption alone. What I tasted had far too much mayonnaise and not enough shreds(4 pc) of collard greens; giving no added flavor to the slaw. With all this said, I want and plan on giving«MPS&W» another try! It’s only fair to either try another menu item or at least give them the opportunity to «get it right» in my opinion! The location and concept is new, though I read it’s not the first restaurant rodeo for these owners! I will be back and soon! BTW, Forgot to mention I was given a pick up time & order number via text, while my food(shrimp) sat in a warming bag, while my number was never acknowledged(called out) though I was the only person waiting for an order.

I’m forced to give these guys at least a 1 star. I stopped by to pick up a order of their fresh seafood and wings with excitement, only to get home and be VERYVERY disappointed! The shrimp was very skimpy, dried out & tasteless and the whiting basket was nothing more than flakes. I’ve had better fish sandwiches from McDs. I expressed my dissatisfaction via the limited means of communication(FB instant messaging) and I was told«We have a no refund policy»…“humans make mistakes”… I really had much higher expectations from these guys. I pray that the quality of their food improves or they will not last in this market with Maryland seafood and Homesboys just down the road… Best of luck to these guys.

Went to My Place after being snowed in for 4 days. We had high hopes for this place and it was just O.K. My husband ordered the Whiting and Shrimp platter with corn and potato salad, the price doesn’t match the quantity. He felt it was good, but it wasn’t the bomb. I ordered the chicken fettuccine, it wasn’t the best I’ve tasted and it didn’t come with any garlic bread. We ordered some chicken wings and they were probably the best thing that we ordered. I would go back for the wings, but nothing else.

I’m going to give this business a solid two stars although I haven’t tasted the food. I’m giving you two stars for the«No Loitering» sign on the outside of the building. Is this a southeast liquor store or food establishment.

Decided to give this new establishment a try. First I must point out that they do not take telephone orders! Tried that first but was directed to use mobile app or website. I decided to go in and place my order in person. There were about 5 others inside. I ordered 2, 8 piece wing basket with a side of fries, that come with a $ 21.00 price tag! Tried the mild and hot buffalo, a little pricey in my opinion but overall pretty good wings. Not many fries included in the basket though.

If you were a fan of My Place Sports Bar & Grill just down the street at 12150 Central Ave in Mitchellville Plaza, you’ll be glad to know that My Place is back. But this time just as a carryout restaurant. But if you loved the food at the old spot, I’m pretty sure they’re gonna get busy on the grill here like they did at the old location. Grand opening on Jan 15. Check em out.
