I bought a Groupon and had laser hair removal service. I give the quality of service 4STARS and the ladies customer service 3STARS. At first I found the quality of their customer service to be in the dumps. The women appeared to be loud, ghetto and VERY unprofessional. I experienced it on my 1st and 2nd appointments. I could not WAIT until my 6 appointments through Groupon were over. As I went on to my next appointments shortly thereafter, the staff customer service started to improve. The quality of service performed on me was great. As an African American woman having the experience of numerous lasers not being for our skin complexion had been disappointing and ridiculous to me, such a waste of my time in the past at other locations here in DC. So when I found a black owned business that had lasers that support our skin complexion I was ecstatic. No more WASTED money. I saw results instantly on my second appointment. The ladies told me I would start to see results by the 3rd appointment, but for me it was the 2nd. Each appointment with the laser was not only painful but the results were amazing. There work is very credible and you will be happy. In case you’re wondering how laser hair removal feels on your skin. It feels like rubber bands popping your skin on damp skin.

I bought my husband a Groupon for Christmas 2013 to remove hair from his back(large area according to the Groupon) after calling the office and asking question about the expiration date and the process. The first time I called to schedule an appointment for him I was told they would not honor the Groupon because of a change in management. I immediately called Groupon to complain. They called the medispa and worked things out. I wish I’d just gotten my money back. On two occasions the doctor canceled his appointments(what doctor cancels appointments?) and she told him after his 4th appointment that she wouldn’t see him anymore. We should have complained but we just gave up. It’s almost a year later and I don’t see any difference and after 4 treatments I expected some long term change. Last week I noticed Janelle Medispa posted another Groupon deal and I decided to post this review to warn others. I wouldn’t even buy a small package because their technique is not effective. Please save your money and go elsewhere.

I would not recommend this business. I purchased the Groupon for 6 treatments of laser hair removal. I found the staff to be unprofessional. The procedure was never discussed with me — luckily I had had a consultation at a different last hair removal business and had some idea what to expect. My first visit I was placed in a room and instructed to undress — while the tech remained in the room. They then unceremoniously glopped me with the gel that is used. The doctor also said very few words to me. My second appointment was scheduled for a Saturday. I received a call on Thursday telling me that I needed to call and reschedule since they would not be open on Saturday. There after they were closed on Saturdays, making appointments a lot less convenient. On one of my appointments I waited more than an hour to be seen. I was taken to their second waiting room after some amount of time(20 minutes?) where I continued to sit as other people came an went. A different person was taken on their precise appointment time — an hour after my appointment time. I finally gave up and said something to the staff and was treated 10 — 15 minutes later. Apparently they just completely forgot about me? From what I know about basic hair removal, I am an ideal candidate for the procedure; however, I have seen very little in the way of results. After my fifth visit, leading up to my third I did not save so I could evaluate the difference. The hair mighhhttt be slightly thinner however there are definitely no areas where hair simply does not exist. Overall: Unprofessional staff Very little results

Save your money if you are doing the groupon deal. I decided to purchase a package for my legs. This was a waste. My first appointment the technician burnt my legs in several spots. They flew through the appointment. They treated my legs in 20 minutes. It should take an hour in order to cover the lower legs. The laser was the size of a dime. The doctor did my 3 – 6 sessions and I wish I would of said something but I felt intimated. I had little reduction in hair growth from my 6 sessions.

I bought a Groupon here for laser hair removal and my first two experiences were great. The first time I came for my appointment I was running late, I can’t remember how late I was but it was LATE. More than 20 mins. But they honored my appointment anyway and were nice and professional, even funny and personable. Second appt no problems either. Then my next appointment was cancelled due to some issues with the building. When I called back to make my next appointments I was disconnected or hung up on twice. I’m not sure what changed but hopefully they go back to the way they were! Maybe they are overwhelmed from the Groupon, which is understandable, the Groupon was honestly almost a too-good-to-be-true type deal so maybe they can raise the rate or something and go back to what was!

I used a groupon offer for laser hair removal service here at Janelle Medispa. First I would like to say I was treated extremely well even though I had a discounted service. The front desk staff and the technician are courteous, professional and efficient. I appreciate a business that respects your schedule and appointment. If my appointment is at 10 am I am seen within 3 minutes. The office is far from the blah doctors office. You actually get the feel of a spa. The office is nicely decorated as well as the procedure rooms. I had a groupon for six visits, the procedure actually worked for me within 4 which was great because laser hair removal is not the most comfortable procedure. There are options you can use to minimized discomfort which are available to you at additional cost. I was very happy with my results and how I was treated during my visits. My name was always remembered as well as information about me that I shared with my technician. She also asked about me and my children even how by business was doing. Its nice being more than just a client. I would return to Janelle for other cosmetic procedures I would be interested in.

I have taken my teenage daughter to Dr. Coats-Walton and I have become a patient as well. Dr. Coats-Walton was great with my daughter and when I went to have a full body check for skin cancer I met with one of the PAs and she found s spot she did not like. Long story short, I had skin cancer and I was referred for surgery which I had about a month ago. Additionally, I had laser hair removal and for the past 6 – 8 months I have been seeing Shayla. She is great! She is personable and smart. I would refer anyone to this office.

Prior to my first visit, I read some poor reviews for this dermatology clinic. Most of the complaints had to deal with the fact that you don’t actually get to see the dermatologist. There are a lot of Physician Assistants and nurses in the clinic. I was perfectly fine with that, but I can understand a person’s desire to see the actual specialist since that’s [supposedly] what they/you are paying for. I found the front desk staff to be very pleasant. They greeted me when I arrived and told me «goodbye» as I left. During my appointment, I was seen by Monica, one of the P.A.s. She was very friendly and receptive to my concerns. I have had trouble finding a dermatologist here in MD that will give me the medication that I took while I lived in California(this treatment was like magic in my opinion). Evidently, dermatologists around here have not advanced much in the last 15 years as far as treating acne. They want to just send you on your way with a long-term antibiotic that will eventually lose its effectiveness. Monica, though hesitant, listened to me and and was very receptive. She explained the benefits and risks. She also filled up a nice goodie bag for me full of facial cleansers, topical cream, and moisturizers. I was very pleased with this clinic and the staff!
