It’s a nice friendly atmosphere with drinks, food, with the neighborhood regulars. I don’t why but this establishment reminds me of Cheers. Literally everyone in that restaurant knows each other name lol.

Nice quiet spot to visit if you are craving Chinese as often as I do, but don’t want to travel too far. I’ll be back… in my Arnold voice.

We ordered delivery. We’ve ordered from here several times before but never reviewed. We’ve never had an issue or been disappointed. Delivery time is decent, especially for a weekend. Food has always been hot and nothing’s ever been missing. We got the chicken lo mein, shrimp lo mein, orange chicken, and Kung Po shrimp. The lo mein noodles don’t leave that greasy after taste that you find at some carry outs. Plenty of meat in all the dishes and cooked well. I think we all agree the best dish is the orange chicken. Huge chunks of perfectly cooked white chicken meat. It’s been that way every time we ordered. There’s not a lot of sauce with it if that’s what you like but certainly enough to add to rice. Also, we got a wonton soup as part of the combo. Really good considering its a freebie but I’d even order it on own its own.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Bowie area, indeed better than some highly rated Chinese restaurants in the DC area that we have tried. Last night my wife and I ordered sweet and sour soup, Singapore noodle and Mongolian beef. They were all excellent. They came with plenty of vegetables, relatively low amount of salt, and just the right amount of spices. However, some weeks ago their Sushi was not of high quality. If you are in mood for Sushi it is best to go to an authentic Japanese restaurant. About half of the restaurant is a pub with video screens that show games and half has dining booths. It is located in a shopping center that seems largely abandoned in the evening. So we do not see many people in the restaurant, which is a shame, given the high quality of food that it serves. I hope that people living in the area will give it a try since there are so few good restaurants in the Bowie area.

Few might suggest so, but Golden Pavilion is a Bowie institution, as much as Grace’s Fortune or Cetrone’s were. It has been here since I was a kid, and probably long before I moved here. I got my go-to chinese meal: sesame chicken with fried rice, egg rolls and wonton soup. The egg rolls are good. They’re not the best I’ve ever had, but you can count on them to be what you need when you have a hankering for egg rolls. Bad egg rolls are a deal breaker, and so far our deal is intact. The won-ton soup was the same. The fried noodles are the same. Permit me a distraction because if I’ve found anything its that sometimes I’ll order $ 20 worth of chinese food just to get the fried noodles. I like East Delight on the other side of town, but their fried noodles seem store-bought and do not fill the fried noodle-sized hole in my heart. Grace’s fried noodles were my standard-bearer, and East Delight falls short. Golden Pavilion stays true, but of course cannot quite live up to Grace’s. The negatives start with the sesame chicken. East Delight does do this better than Golden Pavilion. You want bite-sized chicken dipped in batter and fried to crispy, coated in a sweet-spicy sauce. The chicken here is bigger than bite-sized, forcing you to half them with a fork. And there is NO crispiness. These are major problems for this dish. I can’t even comment on the sauce because if the pieces are too big and not crispy, no sauce can save it. I ask for fried rice instead of the white that comes with it, and typically it is an upcharge. I hope I didn’t pay one, because the container it came in was the size of a Rubik’s Cube. Its not enough rice for an entrée. The fried rice was otherwise fine. Finally, another reviewer said that this isn’t the type of place to bring a date, and I respectfully disagree. East Delight has fluorescent lighting and bench tables, so don’t take a date there; grab take-out there before you Netflix and Chill. But Golden Pavilion has much better lighting, a full bar, and the girl who cashed me out was a cutie. If you would take a date to a restaurant in a strip mall, this one is as good as any. I guess technically Grace’s was in a strip mall — depending on your definition of «strip» — and I took a few dates there. No, this isn’t Grace’s, but on a Tuesday night if you and a long-term partner want to go out for Chinese, I’d go here before I’d trek to Annapolis or Columbia for over-priced food at P.F. Chang’s. Just don’t get the sesame chicken!

Not good at all. The sushi had no personality. We actually had to use lots of soy sauce and wasabi to eat it. The crispy beef was so chewy our jaws hurt. We had to ask for everything(empty duck sauce on the table) soy sauce bottle nearly empty, water refills. Etc. won’t be back.

I came back here with the Missus to have a «sit down» dinner. It was actually pretty nice. The food was decent, the staff was friendly and efficient and the hot tea wad very tasty. this time there were plenty of vegetables and, of course, the fortune cookies. It’s also very reasonably priced. So, this is my new«go to» place for a decent Chinese restaurant that doesn’t cost a boatload of money.

Ordered carry out. Shrimp fried rice, egg rolls and Imperial Twin — fillet mignon and shrimp in a brown sauce with vegetables. Egg rolls and shrimp fried rice were good. The veggies in the Imperial Twin were cold — just the veggies, and I mean colder than room temp. Then there was the hair… disgusting.

Used to eat here and get take out many years ago, then it closed for renovation for a while and we got used to other places. Just went back for take out– Gen Tso’s and Chicken & Broc. They were terrible. I mean I bad. One was bland, the other had an off tasted. Didn’t look or taste like the ingredients were cooked together in a wok, but pre-cooked ingredients and generic sauce dumped in a box.

Not clear to me why the negative reviews. Dinner last night had hot and sour soup that was hot(thermally and taste) and sour. Fried rice not laced with canned peas and carrots so often found in other less authentic places, crisp, not soggy, bok choy, a crispy, well filled and tasty egg roll. This is a plain neighborhood restaurant with an attentive friendly staff, very enjoyable food, and very reasonable prices. Have been here several times with the same experience. Only reason for four stars is that I reserve that for WAY beyond expectations, not for just doing their job right.

It was so good a long time ago and then when they close and reopened, it was like a new restaurant. I ordered wings, lo mein, egg roll, and general tso. The worst general tso I’ve ever tasted. Wings were decent.

OMG! This is the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve been to in the DMV. I ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young with brown rice and Shrimp Fried Rice. It was a consensus that we all hated the Shrimp Egg Foo Young. The shrimp were tough. Kind of like shrimp jerky, if even that exist. Its like they were twice cooked and had yhe aroma of that over used Chinese oil. It smelled funky and was dry as heck. Secondly, the Shrimp Fried Rice was dry as hayle. I’m not Chinese but could have made this so much better. With that said I will never be back and wil spread the word on how bad the food is. There is no freshness or good food here. Bowie, MD deserves better. That was garbage. I can go into a ratchet DC Chinese restaurant with plexiglass and better quality food. YUCK! They need a health and a Restaurant Menu Makeover. Don’t do it folks.

This is your typical Americanized Chinese dine in take out restaurant. Everything just taste ok. I’ve eaten general tsos chicken, sweet and sour pork, egg rolls, fried rice, lo mein, egg drop and wonton soup here and it just taste like ur typical American Chinese food. I order food here bcoz it’s so close to my house that delivery doesn’t take that long. But here’s a positive their fried noodles that come with soup is good. It’s not the cracker dry taste most serve. This one is actually better.

My absolute favorite Asian spot when in Maryland. Have not found anywhere comparable. Their general tao’s is made with fresh(not deep fried) white meat chicken. Large serving sizes. Oh and the sushi… A real experience. I will upload photos to do the review justice!

Had the sunshine roll and the Golden Orchin cocktail while waiting for takeout. We’ve been here a couple of times and I always wonder why we don’t come here more often. Cheaper drinks and food than Grace’s Fortune, and just as good. The service leaves a liiiiittle something to be desired, but it’s not terrible at all — a woman who I assume is the owner and/or manager is serving us and while she’s super quick, she’s a little pushy. Barely put the menu down in front of us and asked us to order, then barely handed my husband his drink before asking him when he’d pay(we’d already paid for our first drink and our food, she was just pushing for him to pay for the drink he hadn’t even sipped yet). Otherwise, it’s pretty good. We’ve ordered delivery from them too, and enjoyed it.

I’m not too big of a fan of this place! I popped in for a quick bite to eat while I was waiting for my laundry to be done. The staff were not that friendly being as though it was my first time. She acted like she had something better to do and the place was damned near empty. Either way, I ordered my food and was not very please with it. I ordered some combination platter with green beans and brown sauce. It lacked a lot to be desired. Definitely not going back! Not a fan!

My opinion still hasn’t changed. You really can’t get a cheaper meal in Bowie for a sit down restaurant. Since the renovations, it is nicely decorated. There really is only two places in this city in which the restaurants existed from the beginning. Rips and this one. They are both still around because they offer a good value. Since it changed from strictly Chinese to an Asian bristo, I think that they excelled in Chinese. So stick to it. They are fast and the meals are tasty. The chicken dishes are larger in size and very tender breast meat is used. I’ll keep coming back, and so should you.
