They are a solid local spot! My biggest critique with this place is that their pizza is on the soggy side. I ordered a whole pie and all of the slices were really limp. I’ve also visited and ordered slices, which were pretty good. All in all, I like the service, the place is always clean and the pizza is pretty decent.

I’ve been to this restaurant twice, and I still dislike their food. Last night, my family took me there for dinner — The first thing I noticed in the restaurant is how bleak their interior design was. Additionally, their red checkered placemats gave away too much country vibe, as if it was supposed to belong to Famous Dave’s instead of an actual Italian restaurant. Move on to the front counter, their service is superb. However it feels like they lack the personality and I ordered Chicken Marsala. Once my family has finished ordering food, I found the booth seating I wanted to sit in the corner. The first thing I spotted is spilling salt on the table. I was like screw it, and moved on to another booth. Unfortunately there was a few bread crusts on the table, and I was like eh whatever. Within 5 minutes of our seating, our waitress delivered our food very quickly. That trait, which is very rare, I’m very impressed with. As for food part, I tried my Chicken Marsala and it tasted very bland and no flavour whatsoever. It didn’t taste like there was any mushroom in it. Even if they did include it, maybe they should reconsider how to make a mushroom sauce. Hell, Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurant made it better like 10 times. Their garlic bread tasted okay, but there was too much soggy in it. I couldn’t eat it all. It is a good thing my father paid for my food; otherwise, I wouldn’t even come here. The bottom line is Anthony tried too hard to be authetnic, which he has failed miserably. He should leave the Italian food to the Italian Market’s in Annapolis and shut his restaurant down just like the Olive Grove at the Hilltop Plaza did.

Not really sure how they received five Star reviews? The food is average at best! The service is about the same.

I ordered a slice of meat lovers as did a few others in my party. They all got decent looking slices of pie and I got a slice of old pepperoni with a handful of undercooked meat toppings piled on top. When I asked for a fresh slice they took off the cold ham squares and put it back in the oven and burned the entire slice and returned it to me. BBQ wings were cooked well but the sauce tasted like a bland BBQ sauce you would find on the bottom shelf of a dollar store. I also tried the buffalo wings which were decent. Garlic knots and marinara sauce side were great.

Finally gave this spot a try. I consider myself a pizza and sub expert of sorts. Having grown up in NY and working in several pizzerias and sub shops/delis, I know what a «pizza» should taste like, look like, etc… The pizza is average at best. Slightly salty cheese and slightly salty sauce. A neutral tasting, thin crust. Oven needs to be hotter in my opinion. As the dough lacked crispness and the thin dough was nearly raw. I ordered a large cheese pizza. The cheesesteak: meat is great quality, plenty of it, cooked nicely, hot off the grill. Toppings, fresh. The bread/roll — soggy, ehhh… non toasted… Fries– soggy. Under cooked. Not crisped up. Wings: average size for MD. Wing quality below average. Bland. Underwhelming sauces. Staff/service: only dealt with pickup counter. Person was fast and friendly. Parking is a nightmare. Had to park in staples/officedepot lot. Will be back to see how it tastes eating in. Sometimes it does make a difference. Have to subtract a star — if you claim to be «NY» or «NY style» — you better bring it

Visited Anthony’s yesterday with my daughter. We were pleasantly surprised with this local restaurant. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very nice. Everyone greeted us with a smile. We dined in which meant that we first ordered at the counter then they give you a number for your table so your food can be delivered to your table. We had pizza and a meat calzone. The pizza is thin crust which we prefer and the sauce is excellent. Next time I plan to try one of the pastas. The prices are right too. This place is definitely a gem in Bowie.

Pizza is really good, only complaint they need to disperse the topping more evenly. Clean friendly speak English fine. I mention that because another reviewer said they don’t. So far the best in Bowie that I have found.

Not bad, a little less flavor than I wished but got this as a late night pizza pick up once. Got a pepperoni pizza. Maybe it wasn’t as good because we got it right before closing? Might try again during the day. They were super quick though!

This is a cute little Italian spot if you are looking for good food at decent prices. The crab pizza is my go to every time I visit this place. I love they give you good portions of crab, basil, and tomatoes. The ingredients are always fresh and great with wine. This is pretty close to me, so I go there way more than I should.

Anthony’s is great! My family typically orders from there weekly. I personally like the penne broccoli meal(add grilled chicken) and their pizza is really good too(try it with grilled chicken and green peppers)! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes Italian Food!

Not terribly impressed. The pizza was«so so» — a bit blah. You place your order and then have to pick it up later at the counter. If the food is only average, you hope the service is great. If the service is only average, you hope the food is good. This had neither.

I just went to Anthony’s for the first time ever. I am a «fat guy», LOL, so I love Italian food especially. I was in the area shopping, and I decided to give Anthony’s a try for lunch. Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed was the nice inviting dining room. It was tastefully decorated and really gave me a sense that it was New York inspired without«trying too hard». Another thing I noticed about the dining room in general was that it is completely spotless. Not one crumb on the floor, not one piece of silverware out of place. I can tell that the staff here really cares. This is all well and good, but the food is what the customers come through the door for. I couldn’t wait to try one of my favorite Italian dishes to see how Anthony’s stacks up. I briefly looked over the menu, and decided on the eggplant Parmesan. It comes with garlic bread and angel hair pasta. One thing I noticed right away was the low prices. My lunch and a drink was about $ 12. That is awesome for upscale-ish Italian food. My food was brought out to me at my table in about 10 minutes. Nice and fast service. And again, everyone who works there is super polite and has a smile on their face. That is nice. So many places these days have grumpy employees. That is so offputting. My eggplant Parmesan was cooked perfectly. Crispy around the edges, and soft and chewy everywhere else. Covered in delicious and stringy mozzarella cheese. Sauce is also incredible. It is not your traditional superheavy red tomato sauce. It is more orange, sort of like a vodka cream sauce. It has a touch of spiciness to it. So good. The pieces of eggplant were set atop a mountain of perfectly cooked angel hair pasta. Awesome. This is enough for two people. My only complaint was that I feel like I didn’t get enough eggplant. The eggplant to pasta ratio should be a little more even. All in all, this is an awesome place to eat. It is a great place for families. The prices are super cheap, and I will definitely be back for more. This place definitely has your warm & inviting neighborhood Italian joint feel to it.

When all else fails… I go for the garlic knots! You have to tell them to chill on the garlic sauce sometimes because they can get heavy handed! Sheesh! I have also had the seafood pizza(only available for sale by the slice on Fridays) and it’s really good! I attempted to be healthy and got a caesar salad once… Three thumbs down! I ended up throwing it out…

Like their pizza by the slice. Never had a full pie. Love the Crab Italiano! Subs are okay. Nice people. Glad to have them in Bowie and at Free State.

I got the veggie calzone. Clearly they use frozen vegetables. The spinach and broccoli were still thawing out when I got home. The mushrooms were from the can. I do not eat at restaurants that use canned mushrooms. The vegetables were not seasoned and the lack of cheese was embarrassing. Until they improve the VEGETABLECALZONE, take it off the menu!!! My husband got the deluxe cheese steak. The lack of cheese was embarrasing as well. Very little meat for the amount of bread. The onion and green pepper were non-existent. What a joke. Please don’t open an Anthony’s in NYC. Guess you can get away with this crap in Bowie, MD. We also ordered the Italian Hoagie… not impressed. Poor quality of meat and very little meat for the amount of bread. BOWIEMARYLAND deserves better!

Dined on Feb. 12, 2014 Food: 16 inch(large) 3 topping pizza: mushroom, onions, green peppers. I went for the deal 3 combo deal where you get 3 ingredients but pay for two for $ 15.99. The Good: — Crust isn’t bad — Large pizza — Pizza sliced so all sizes were pretty much the same — Not salty — Not greasy The Bad — Tomato sauce sparse, non-existent in some areas — Two mushroom halves on the entire pizza, and two areas that had 1 piece, and 2 pieces of what looked like minced mushrooms. Apparently the 3 combo deal isn’t such a deal because I really only got two ingredients – green peppers and onions, the amount mushrooms was pathetic so of course you could not taste any mushroom on the pizza. Same with the pizza sauce, no tomato flavor at all because the sauce was so scarce. The pizza did have a great green pepper and onion tastes. And when isn’t green peppers and onions a great tasting combo? In fact, the onions seemed like sweet onions. So in the end, I liked the green peppers and onions on some okay dough. I tried it, 99% sure I won’t go back for pizza.

I have to say the first time we ate here the dining experience was sort of a mess… they brought my husband the wrong food, the servers did not speak english so he decided to just keep what they gave him since it looked good. He was 5 bites in when they brought him his actual dinner… and took the other food away. I hope nobody else got that food! It was sort of a laughable experience but the food was good. Ever since then we have ordered take out a few times and the food is always ready on time and is always good. This place is a much better option than the chain Italian joints we have here in Bowie and I would recommend people have some patience with the dining room staff and enjoy the good food! The cannoli is delicious!!!
