I am the crazy person that loves public transportation! What can I say? It’s easy and allows for a night out on the town without having to be responsible for an automobile. We used to rely on cabs for these kinds of nights, but since discovering how easy the bus system is, we’ve never looked back. The bus is great because it’s only $ 1. Seriously, I can find a buck at the bottom of my purse or under the couch and be ready to G-​O. Depending on the day, sometimes the bus is on time or a little late, but don’t worry about it ever being early. If the bus is early, they will wait at the stop until the time it’s scheduled to leave.
Unfortunately, the busses don’t really ever go where you want them to, so you usually have to head to 1 of the 3 transfer hubs. Once you make it there, get a yellow transfer pass from your driver and you have 30 minutes to transfer to a new bus for free. FREE, yes that’s right. I told you this bus system is magical.
Now, I know I’ve painted a pretty picture, so you’re thinking that this is some kind of zen transportation complete with yoga and massages. NO, it’s a freaking public bus. You will encounter your fair share of strange people, but the bus drivers are always really good at keeping it as classy as possible. I did hear the bus driver last night state that someone had just tried to get on the bus covered in a strange yellow-​ish liquid and she had to deny him entry.
Don’t be apprehensive of a little public transportation. Go out and enjoy your newfound freedom!
