Planet Fitness – Bountiful

Great place! Staff is friendly, they know me by name and have me checked in before I get to the counter. They keep their machines clean and maintained. They get the equipment reupholstered freaky fast. The patrons there a good people as well. It’s a good place all around. The place is spotless. The bathrooms are clean, the machines and floors are clean too.
I’m sorry to see a lot of hate for Planet Fitness, but you have to admit their judgment free mission statement is a smooth marketing move. If you’re offended by their slogan, it automatically sorts out the negative attitudes by letting «that» kind of gym go-​er catagorize themselves as «that». In turn, they go elsewhere. Genius! It’s pretty vain to think Planet Fitness doesn’t welcome you, just saying. It’s a gym. People work out there. Go to your gym and do your workout. Stop worrying about the tootsie roll or slice of pizza someone may be eating a few blocks away. Plus, you’re not even there to see that no one eats it. Is it that hard to walk past it and go on about your business? No.
I feel like those who fart the loudest about it are the same ones who claim they’ve never had fast food. People need to stop tearing down others choice of gyms. We are all working out. Our goal is the same. To feel better, get healthier, look better, or work off that slice of pizza (gasp!!). Don’t blame Planet Fitness for your failures. Do yourself a favor and focus all that negativity into your workout.
I recommend this gym to everyone, because that’s the type of people you see there, everyone.

My wife and I selected this gym after a lot of consideration. They also ended up being the only people we talked to that gave us prices straight up, and no hidden fee crap. They have nice equipment and the employees from my experience so far, are very pleasant. Some people want gym employees to greet them every day and provide encouragement every time they come in, we just want to be left alone to do our thing. We went on a Friday night around 5 to sign up and worked out after that. Other gyms will tell you to go to their competitors around the busy times to see the difference, it definitively was not as busy as they want you to think they are. They way I have heard it described is you have to wait in line basically for equipment, this is complete bogus. As I stated, we went on Friday at 5pm. It was a little busy yes, but I was able to use anything I wanted without waiting for any of them.
I take off a star for two reasons. First is they are not open 24 hours every day. Which I don’t really understand why they are not, because it seems it would only take one more employee to make them a 24 hour gym. But as I am not the owner, I am sure there are other things that affect them not being 24 hour. Second is they can only auto pay out of a bank account. I much prefer using a credit card for my payments.
Their equipment seems clean and new, and they have and ab circuit and full body circuit to do if you are short on time. 10 bucks a month gets you a membership with a 1 year contract. 15 a month if you don’t want a contract. There is a once a year fee of 40 dollars to go towards equipment etc, but there are no hidden «enrollment fees». For my wife and I to sign up it was 18 dollars total, then 15 a month each after than.
We went in to sign up at another gym before coming here, but after everything was said and done, it would have been over $ 200 to sign up for that gym to start working out that day, where here it was seriously just $ 5 plus the pro rated monthly membership (ours was $ 4 per person making it $ 18 total).
Go in and see for yourself, they are upfront about everything and I really do feel comfortable working out here, as does my wife, which is a huge plus.

I never took Planet Fitness seriously and from my experience, even some of the employees as Planet Fitness don’t think it’s a serious gym. I was talking to one of the employees and he told me that Planet Fitness has a Pizza day. And I was shocked that they offer pizza to the clients that day. At a gym? He laughed about it and told me «yea we don’t take ourself as a serious gym». Putting that a side, I think Planet Fitness is a decent gym for those who are wanting to achieve goals. The equipment «so far» is all new and in great condition. A ton of cardio machines. A decent amount of weights provided. And a lot of tv screens to stair at to distract you while you do the boring cardio workouts lol. So bottom line is this, the prices to join PF are great. The equipment are nice and if you’re a black card member, then you get free tanning, free massage chairs and water massage beds. So not really bad. And if you want to see results or not, it is up to you.

Let me start off by saying that some of the staff here could be A LOT more friendly… and a bit more attentive to certain things. Like details when someone comes in to update their billing information.
That being said. the manager of this locations Brianna I believe is her name. I’m almost positive, definitely came through. I came in to update my billing information because I had closed the account that I had the charges coming off of each month. It is frustrating that I have to come into the location to do any updating of anything. I get that it’s for security purposes, but when you work all day everyday it’s hard I would like to just call over the phone and take care of it. Anyways… whatever I got over it no problem, went into the location to update my billing information. The gentleman that helped me. was not very friendly. seem quiet annoyed actually but it’s okay I got over that too. He updated it pretty quick and then said, k thanks and went on with his way. I figured sweet everything is handled.
However… when I spoke with Jamison over the phone about this situation he advised me that all employees are supposed to let the customers know when they are updating their information that anything updated after the 10^th does not go through for that month. Had I known I would have made sure money was in my old account. I did not know, I thought all was well and the charges were coming off my new account. Of course they didn’t and I got smacked with a 54.00 fee from the old bank! Now. .before I go further I do want to say that I to take blame of this too. I know we hear it time and time again to read the fine print of our contracts… I am 100 percent honest in that I did, but forgot completely about their policy that anything that is changed after the 10^th of the month will not process till the next month. However I also felt as a company that probably is aware that 90 of their customers are not going to remember something like that it would have been nice of their employee to say a quick hey little reminder this won’t update this month. I just wish that specific employee cared a little more…
Now onto the manager of this location. She went way and I mean way above and beyond for me I believe. Because it’s in the fine print that things don’t update past the 10^th she technically didn’t have to do anything about the situation. Not only did my bank charge me the fee, but they sent it back to the gym so I was going to have to pay my monthly fee plus a 10 fee for it declining. However the sweet awesome manager waved the 10 fee and said that she would take care of the monthly fee for me for that month because of everything. She did not have to do that and I totally and completely appreciate it and have no ill feelings towards this location anymore. She did her job above what she had to and it’s people like her that keep customers wanting to come back!
Onto the actual gym portion of this location. It’s gorgeous! Super clean. I love love love it! I love coming to work out here. I never feel like I’m being judged and I’m not surrounded by a bunch of teeny poppers that are here to just check out the guys like at the Rec center. The Price per month is awesome! I love that there are no contracts. Most… of the staff is super friendly and attentive to all their members needs. You will find a few that seem a bit off and not very friendly but I promise you that the gym it’s self and the employees that do care make up for it!
