I am someone that never reviews anything but was compelled to after my experience. We were in town for the weekend had dinner here based on the reviews I read. Unfortunately, my experience was NOT a good one. The food came to the table and my mothered dish was raw. Sent it back and she said it was raw and she didn’t want anything else. A few moments later and the manager came over and asked what was wrong. Why ask when you know the server already told you. When the bill came the server said we went ahead and too off your plate off the bill. Really I hope so since it was raw and no one ate it. The food that we did eat was not that great and too expensive. I was very disappointed with this experience. I felt they could have done a better job of trying to make our experience better.

Good food. I don’t remember having anything that was bad. The paella was very good. we also had a variety of appetizers that were good. Definitely will come back for the paella

Fabulous restaurant! Great staff, tons of food options, and uniquely decorated atmosphere. I went with about 5 other co-workers, and we all ordered and shared family style, allowed us all to get a little bit of everything! Great way to really sample the Mediterranean food, very happy with the meal. Highly recommend for groups and intimate dates too!

Maybe an off day for the kitchen and wait staff for a Saturday lunch. Party of 5 ordered a salad, a handful of tapas plates and a margherita pizza. Our waiter wanted to know if I wanted my tapas before the pizza. I said that would be great. So the pizza shows up and lukewarm before anything else comes. Thought sauce on it was way too sweet. albondigas nothing special. My spouse asked twice if there were olives in the Panino pollo. The waiter said she would check and my wife said to please leave them off or if they could not to let her know. So the panino comes swimming in olives! At least she took it off the check without us having to ask. Disappointing after seeing other very positive reviews.

This is one of my fav restaurants in Boulder! I’ve had so many insanely delicious bites here. Go during happy hours(3 – 5 weekdays), and the tapas are also ridiculously affordable. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, decorated with Mediterranean-inspired art, blue tile accents, and colorful chandeliers. Nevertheless, the ambience is relaxed and casual, perfect for a chill meal with friends. The service is fast and very accommodating, happy to explain their numerous tapas to you. The best bites I’ve had here are: melon and prosciutto, hangar steak with cheese, mahi mahi salad, and the chocolate almond dessert. If nothing else, you have to, have to get the steak! It’s so tender and juicy and pairs so well with the tart tomato and briny feta. Everything I’ve tried is well made, well balanced, and downright delicious. This is simplicity executed at its very finest. Come during happy hours, and your meal will be thrillingly cheap. I think each tapa is around $ 3-$ 8. If you’re around Walnut street, this place is a must try!

Gone are the days where I used to come to The Med for happy hour drinks and tapas. Prices have gone up(not so much HH prices anymore) while portions have shrunk. I was most disappointed in my «bowl» of mussels(perhaps 8 mussels, tops)… and with the portions of most everything else. With the price-portion ratio, I’ll likely go elsewhere come Friday at 5:00 pm.

My hands down… Most fave HH spot for tapas! Def stop in if you’ve never been here before! Plus every time I do a hike at Chautauqua I love stopping here after. The tapas here are a great price but exceptional quality. Also I have brought large groups here too and they can accommodate most large crowds! In Boulder there are so many wonderful places to dine, but The Med is one I drove from Greeley and Denver just for HH. The regular items on the menu are all wonderful but I truly enjoy All the small plates! I enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant and outdoor seating area with the water feature. I love that they expanded and have lived in CO for almost 10 years and still love love love this place!

It was crazy that as warm as the day was that there was no air conditioning. I was ok, but I think my brother-in-law almost up and left finding almost intolerable. In any case, in a big spot like this it wasn’t hard to get seated right away which we appreciated. I opted for tapas, because I love variety. I don’t think you could go wrong on any of these items. The bacon wrapped dates were delicious. I got like 5 different items and went to town and was not disappointed at all. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive, and was helpful with recommendations. The prices were reasonable. I would certainly come back for this again.

Only thing to say. Gnats! Everywhere. Disgusting. Weird. Don’t go here. Unless you like gnats, then you should definitely go here

Well, Med, you have made my tummy very happy after a meal here. This experience here is seriously making me question why I don’t eat in Boulder more often. We had plans to go to another place, but after learning about the 2 hour wait, we decided to venture over here by chance to see about tables. Turned out the outside seating was available on a *somewhat* cooler night, and so we went for it. It was just lovely, in my opinion. The walls that surround the outside seating sort of insulated us and it was really quite comfortable. Love the quaint and lively vibe. Ok, now onto the important stuff– the tapas. Lucky for us, it was happy hour and boy was it happy! Hands down, it was a bombass happy hour. Tapas galore and many tasty nibbles to try until you’re stuffed to your heart’s content. We had a gazillion tapas, but the most notable to me were the hangar steak, the tartare, the little red peppers stuffed with cheese on a bed of greens with pomegranate vinaigrette. Oh yeah, the empanada was pretty tasty too. Oh, and that kalamata olive bread they give you when you are getting settled? BOMB. I wish that could be my pillow so that I could wake up taking a bite of it every day. Don’t judge me.

Very nice place with a decent selection of tapas. It’s good even for families. Get adventurous and try something different. Unless you’re a really picky eater, you should be good here. This place gets crowded very quickly so call ahead.

Fancy place and good reasonable priced food. I had their tapas which around 6 to 7 a plate. Calamari, shrimp, clams, and lamb skewer were my plates. I could probably have eaten just 3 of 4 and be filled but I’m a fatty so I didn’t care. From the looks of other people’s entrees I don’t think you could go wrong with any dish.

There were some great things and some not so great things: The great: 1) potatoes bravas — really great with the aioli they serve it with. Lots of flavor and the perfect texture you would want out of a potato 2) short rib empanadas — please get this! The short rib filling was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the sauce it was served with was great. This was easily my favorite tapas we ordered. 3) smoked chicken in the paella — tender, smoky, great flavor. Comes on the bone in a small drumstick form. The not so great: 1) service(we were seated immediately which was good, but I had to actually get up and track down a waiter to ask for water and service for our table after 10 minutes of no one stopping by; the other tables in our area were getting service, even people seated after us) 2) clams in the paella(there were 4 small clams that weren’t very fresh, one shell that was even missing meat); for 18.95, I expect more, better quality seafood 3) burrata in marinara(I didn’t think there was much flavor to this at all) 4) calamari — the portion was really small, it was under seasoned(even with the marinara, which I also felt was under seasoned), and it was overcooked. The mediocre: We also ordered the Brussels sprouts, lamb skewer, and a short rib polenta blue cheese tapas. These were all fine. I probably wouldn’t order them again for the price, but they weren’t bad by any means, just not my favorite.

Beautiful atmosphere, love sitting in the outside courtyard. The attention to detail is beautiful, including the handpainted mosaic tables. LOVE the plants and flowers everywhere. I felt transported to Southern Europe. Love the tapa selection, we had the bacon wrapped dates, the golden beets and chévre, and antipasti. I personally wish they had more gluten-free substitutes including gluten-free bread like Abrusci’s has. The pricing is a little high, to be expected in downtown Boulder. The tapas range from 6 to 9 dollars, but you do get a good portion with the antipasti. The service in general was pretty good, a little slow at times but they were very busy for a Wednesday night. Matt had the pasta bolognese, and he said it tasted like hamburger helper, but I thought the sauce had nice spices to it! Maybe my texts aren’t as good as his! Definitely go for the atmosphere, especially on a late summer evening!

Taste: 5 Service: 5 Distinctiveness: 4 The med… enough said… But in all seriousness, this place is great. Boulder is known for their great food, but even so this place stands out among the masses. There are a ton of great choices. Want a safe choice? Try the Diablo chicken or Scottish salmon. Two simple dishes, with the Med’s own personal spin on things. Honestly, the best chicken I have had. The salmon is also a great savory decision. Try and make it there during happy hour if you can, so you can hit up all the tapas. A large selection to keep you coming back to try more.

I’d have to toss a coin. Which spot has Boulder’s Best Happy Hour: Brasserie 10 – 10 or The Med? Hmm…oy! They are both owned by the same group, so the answer is ENJOYBOTH! They are across the street from one another so there is ample time to sample both spots! Seriously, the TAPAS menu here is two pages, front and back… cold and hot. Carpaccio, skewers, antipasto… whether you want things fried, baked, steamed, grilled… it’s on this menu. To date, we’ve sampled about 8 – 10 tapas and they are all very good. Also, the kids’ menu is fabulous and reasonably priced. The kids’ cheeseburger got two thumbs up by The Picky One(7 year old son). I also love that they have a prosecco in their happy hour offerings. Happy mommy, happy child… keys to a happy life… The restaurant itself is huge, with special rooms and two bars plus a gorgeous patio. I’m calling this spot my official second ‘home away from home’ this summer.

Daaaaaamn… now I know why every person I know tells me I must go to «The Med» when I go to Boulder – this place is straight up legit! We stopped here on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty busy but we got a table right away. Service was great, lunch specials were aplenty and affordable. I got the gyro with fries and holy lord, it was unique and delicious! Not only do they put tsaziki in the go but hummus too and they grill the outside – that’s what I’m talking about! Half plus some fries were more than enough so I really for two meals for the price of one! I can’t wait to come here again for a banging lunch special!
