Closed as of a few weeks ago — I don’t think they could maintain food and service standards to compete with nearby restaurants.

Good food, may need to be patient getting it.

My new favorite place to eat. The sandwiches have a generous amount of filling and the build your own salad is the best I’ve see especially for the price. They offer unlimited toppings on the salad including meat, avacado, bacon and tons of other veggies.

I agree with Dylan S.‘s assessment of this fast food joint. The service quality has dropped significantly since they opened. I will admit that I like their sandwiches so I won’t completely cut off my business to this place, but I’ll be visiting this place at a much much lower frequency. It may be for the better as I’ll be forced to make my own sandwich for lunch and save some money in the process. Smiling Moose’s poor service will make me a better, more diligent person. Thanks Smiling Moose!

This is the first time I’ve been to this deli in Boulder; I’ve gone to the location in Arvada. The smiling moose deli serves good wraps and soup. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a casual place to eat.

I drive by the smiling moose twice a week in louisville along mccaslin blvd. I had the chance to swing in while in Erie I believe. I told the guy it’s my first time and he recommended a good one to start with. Great staff. Great sandwich. I will spread the word

I am currently the«duke» here — and after today I will be deleting this smiling moose from my bookmarks and will likely not be comIng back. I am too busy to deal with standing at the counter with a workers back to me while she finishes her story to the cook who can see I am waiting — only to then sit down to work on my computer — and no wireless !!! When I asked them if they could please reset the wireless they were unhelpful — asked around a bit and came out to me to tell me apparently the wireless is just not working to well — can you just try resting it? She says — no, not worth the try. Well it would of at least showed some effort — and perhaps that you cared. You did not even say I’m sorry it’s not working — and after all of this — I still did not have my sandwich — which when I finally did get it — was cold. Wish I could just write it off to a bad day — but this was a bad day that lost you a repeat customer and a good tipper. I would not recommend this place for anyone who doesn’t have a lot of time to kill and only to people who like to be ignored.

I love this place. The wraps are fabulous. I especially like the Mile High Thai wrap; it has a perfect blend of flavors. My most recent passion is the Create-Your-Own Salad. You select salad ingredients(including grilled chicken and bacon) and the staff chops it together, mixes it with a dressing of your choice and adds your choice crunchy toppings. It is huge and of course, just the way you like it. The counter staff is always friendly, helpful and patient. I hate to admit it, but I have been here three times this week! Another plus is they have unlimited wifi access.

This place was pretty busy when I got there, and it was nice to the see(I’m assuming) the owners or general managers helping out where they could. Shows their commitment to their business and dedication. This location is right in the midst of 29th Street Mall, where there’s some pretty hefty competition from other businesses such as Daphne’s, Firehouse Subs, and Pei Wei. I had a hot sandwich that was super tasty! I couldn’t finish all of it, so had the rest for lunch at work. Made for an inexpensive day because I only paid once for meals!

Great sandwiches, the baguettes are really good! Portions are big, the chipotle mayo was so so, I’d definitely go back!

High quality«fast food» that is a little overpriced, but delicious.

My most diplomatic response to the question, «Is the Smiling Moose good?» has become«There’s nothing WRONG with it.» While you aren’t likely to have an offensive dining experience at the Smiling Moose, it probably won’t be memorable either. It’s a pretty standard semi-fast food experience; you order at the counter, your food is brought to your table in the next 5 – 10 minutes, and you get to listen to(mostly cheesy) classic rock while you eat. What strikes me most about the Smiling Moose is how bland the food tastes compared to how good it looks on the menu. The food is made fresh insofar as it’s not pre-made, but it is never very flavorful and the bagels are often stale. With so many places to get sandwiches, bagels, soups, and salad within the same mall(or right across the street), I can’t imagine why anyone would choose the Smiling Moose.

The staff here is so friendly and welcoming to kids! As soon as I walked in with my toddler they offered us crayons and paper. I had a yummy breakfast sandwich on a bagel and my son had a standard cream cheese. The bagels were pretty good and my latte was decent as well. We’ll be back for lunch soon!

Oh damn. I’m glad I walked out of the expensive doo-doo hut that is ModMarket and into this place. The Mile-Hi Thai wrap is pretty much one of the best wraps I’ve ever had, and the Bing cherry drink they have here is delicious. The only thing that comes to mind after eating here is how happy I am to live in a town where all of the food actually tastes like food. Yay for healthy sandwich shops.

Yummy, this place has some great tasting sandwiches. I grew up in NJ, and while the bread doesn’t match the excellence of a jersey sammy, it does still have good consistency and taste. They also have a good variety of stuff to chose from. Thus far, this place has been my favorite place. Pricing: Fair pricing and pretty standard for Boulder. Atmosphere: I enjoyed the classic rock music they have playing while dining. Staff: Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing but good things to say about this place.
Quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Boulder, Smiling Moose Deli has many locations, but this new one is close to my work, so I have a new breakfast/lunch spot. They have create-your-own salads with meat for $ 7.50(eat that Panera, Mad Greens, etc.). The salad is big enough for two meals, but I put it away in one because it’s so good. On top of the standard salad fare, you can get hard boiled eggs, avocado, sun dried tomatoes, wontons, wasabi peas, & a bunch of other unique & healthy fix-ins with a long list of dressings. I’ve also tried the chicken breakfast burrito & was satisfied. The turkey Philly is my favorite sandwich, but the salad is my favorite value. My only qualm is that the sandwiches don’t come with chips or anything, but Smiling Moose is still a high 5 to me.
