This place was pretty good. Their burritos was good and their fish tacos were great. Others liked the pupusas these were very good.

This restaurant seems like closed when I visited several days ago. I’m wondering what happened.

I’ll start by saying we somehow seem to get the head waiter every time, and he really is on his game and makes sure we’re taken care of. So in terms of service, I have no complaints(compared to some of the other reviewers). Food is average. Definitely try the papusas — they’re the best part. Typically when I pay for chips I expect chips made on-site, which these are not. But given that their salsas are a speciality I get it.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem. Food is amazing, service is on point, staff is friendly and super helpful, evening was clean, and the price was amazing. I had the Fajitas Plate with carnitas. It more than fed two starving men with plenty leftovers. It was just $ 13. Guac was on point and reasonably priced ~$ 5 – 6 I will certainly be back here!

Pupusas is awesome! Delicious food, very nice staff, yummy margaritas. It’s very affordable as well. In a Sunday afternoon we had a large group of 20 and they were able to accommodate us on short notice. Their salsa bar is stellar, not to be missed!

Went with a group of coworkers today. Food was very good. Service was awful. The guy next to me got the wrong item and replacement was also wrong.

We just love this place. About as authentic as you can get. Consistent and close by our neighborhood. Great food!

One of my favorites in Boulder! Authentic Mexican and El Salvadorian food that is delicious and well priced. Looks like a fast food chain from the outside, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Very friendly and accommodating staff give the vibe of a family owned restaurant. Ample seating with nice views of the mountains.

I admit I went here thinking a pupusa was more like an empanada than it actually was. What I ended up with was a rather soggy chicken and cheese filled pancake. Not a texture I like. I also assumed it was just a little fast food place, and was wrong, which meant I ended up taking a much longer lunch than I intended. Tortilla chips are not free, but apparently the salsa is, and served at a fancy bar where you get your choice of all kinds of options. Guacamole is ridiculously expensive for a little scoop of the green goodness. Fortunately I got a dicer for Christmas so I can make my own at home whenever I want it. After your meal you pay at the counter. Somewhere in the transaction and the confusion of where I should leave a tip(in a jar by the register, as it turned out) I lost $ 10 out of the $ 20 bill I gave the cashier. I’m hoping it was my own stupidity and the servers got a good tip that day. I may go back, because there were fajitas on the menu, and I really really need to find a new place for fantastic fajitas.

I had the chicken and cheese pupusa for lunch and it was delicious. I like their salsa bar which has some interesting flavors(I think one of the salsas is avocado based and quite good). It’s perfect to accompany a pupusa. Prices are very reasonable and portions big enough. The menu also offers a nice selection of burritos and tortas(Mexican sandwiches) that I would love to try another time.

The food was really really delicious. I had an enchilada dish, it was done quite well. The bad is that the service was awful. The gentlemen was really nice but might have been in over his head especially since I was alone and we weren’t busy. He was slow getting to all tables. Unfortunately the bad service overshadowed an awesome meal

I try to make it out every couple of months when I need some serious, stick-to-your-bones Mexican/El Salvadoran food. Having had a lot of the menu, I’d say the two best things on it are the papusas breakfast(two popausas of your choice with two eggs any style, smothered in sauce) or the carnitas platter. Both are delicious, well worth the price, and large in portions! I’ve taken two El Salvadoran colleagues and both raved about it. It also helps that they, as well as the two waiters I see on a regular basis there, are big Barca fans. Mes que un club, indeed!

I have been trying to find papusas in my area for a long time and yesterday my mom and I found this restaurant!!! It was fantastic!!! The staff was very friendly and gave us free chips and guacamole just for trying the place! The owner and chef is from El Salvador so the food is amazingly authentic. We had their tamale and then each had a papusa plate. The papusa was perfect. Cheese was hot and melted and the chicken was tender. The outside was grilled perfectly. We both were happy. We finished with their chocolate cake with flan on top and that was crazy good too!!! I can’t wait to eat my leftovers today and I can’t wait to take the rest of my family there!!!

Great food and service. Tonight we placed a to-go order, and I don’t think I spoke clearly when ordering. I believe they heard ‘chips’ instead of ‘chicken soup.‘ It’s tortilla soup on the menu, so the fault is mine. Anyway, when I picked it up and we cleared up the miscommunication, they pulled the soup together quickly, and would not charge me for it. Unnecessary, but a very nice move. I’d have gone back anyway, but they handled it really well. On top of that, their food travels well if you want it to go, and tastes great in-house. Try it.

Their pupusas are good… although not even the best pupusas I’ve had in Boulder. They’re a little oily for my taste and it seems like maybe they’ve started to use cheaper ingredients or something. I do think their stuff used to be better. Anyway, if you’re in the mood for a pupusa, it’s basically the only place in Boulder to go BUT do not(whatever you do) get the torta. My boyfriend got it and it was less-than-delicious, the bread was not great, and so got soggy really quickly.

Totally bummed. It seems that there has been a drastic change in ownership/management. Like in 24 hours the blinds all fell down and are crooked, the tables are broken and the signs are off. The food is not cooked the same. The papusas were doughier than they used to be and not as delicious. We’ve been twice in a few months since the change. I’m planning on going back one more time in hopes of improvement because I LOVED this place! It was so wonderful before. I hope they get it together. A faerie princess feels the loss.

My buddy and I have been searching Boulder and Longmont for the best Tacos Current Ranking: #9 out of 9 Food: At least it was hot. The tacos, rice and beans I had were just bland. Not full of any flavor. Normally with asada tacos you can at least get the grilled meat favor but they some how were able to make it magically disappear. Service: Friendly server but forgetful and slow. Mind you we went for a late lunch so its not like the place was full. We had to ask several times just to get chips and salsa. Atmosphere:Typical clean sit down restaurant. They did have a nice outdoor sitting area.

This was my first experience with pupusas and had it not been for some avid fans of the food on Facebook, after trying them here, I probably never would have tried them again. First, I was one of maybe five occupied tables in this rather large space, yet it still took a long time to place my order and a really long time to get my food, especially when you consider what I got on my plate. I got a soupy tortilla filled with sparsely chicharron(ground pork) and cheese, I think. It was partially burned and it tasted like I was eating a mildly seasoned corn tortilla. They should either speed up service and keep serving the same underwhelming food, but fast, or keep service the same, but drastically improve the quality of the food and its preparation. I should not have had to pay $ 8 for what I ate there. Total travesty.

2012 Review #272: Seems like I’m one of the few people in Boulder that hasn’t heard of this place. Knowing I had a late night at school, and teaching at a school nearby at the end of the day, I popped by here for a pupusa to go. This is mostly a sit-down place but they do take-out orders, though they still take a while, especially for 3:00 in the afternoon. There are happy hour specials daily, though, so it seems like a nice place to go after work. I chose the Roasted Anaheim chile and cheese. Price was around $ 5 and the pupusa was quite large. I also got a Boingo! Guava drink from the cooler, which was really nice and was something I hadn’t seen before. The pupusa came with slaw and red salsa, though I wish they gave to-go ramekins at the salsa bar so I could take some green salsa with me. I threw a little in on top of my pupusa and it was nice and had a nice heat. Luckily, the pupusa actually tasted like chile, not just corn and cheese. It had a nice sear, although with the humidity in the container the edges had started to toughen a bit, but I waited to eat it until I got back to work. The chile was actually spicy on its own, which is something I often find lacking in pupusas with spicier ingredients. I didn’t like the slaw too much; it had a peppery quality without any real acid or salt to balance it out. However, the red sauce/salsa that comes with the pupusas? Um, yeah, I may or may not have drank it out of the container, it was that good. I would put that on just about anything. I wish they sold it separately. If I’m around this area again, which I know I will be, I will definitely return. It’s a nice, family-owned place in a newer development that could easily be overwhelmed by chains and bland suburban knock-offs.

Lemme tell you a tale about how this started off with a big olé NO star experience and wormed it’s way up to a four star meal. I was visiting my brother & sis-in-law to see the newest addition to the family — the teeny tiny niece. We decide to go out to a celebratory meal, with a group of 10, and since we will be bringing the teeny-tiny, reservations are a must. SIL makes reservations. SIL makes reservations hours in advance. Get to restaurant a few minutes early. It is PANDEMONIUM. There’s a ton of people in the front waiting & waiters practically catapulting over people. Guess what? Our table is not ready. Like, there’s people sitting at all tables & where are they planning to put our party of 10 who reserved said table hours ago? Good. Damned. Question. We wait. We ask about our table. Blank faces. Frustration grows. People are sniping at each other. Teeny tiny is looking a bit fussy. We ask about our table. «Soon», «It’s being cleaned» and just sheer terror of those we bugged. WHATISTHEPOINTOF A RESERVATION??? we ask each other. Brother is getting mad. SIL is getting mad at brother, and at restaurant. I am about to put my stern pants and get all up in their business when– OURTABLEISREADY! Amazing. Once all that hibbity jibbity is done, service becomes fairly acceptable. Probably realized just how peeved we were & that teeny tiny could become an angry teeny tiny at any moment. I myself got the pupusa & enjoyed it immensely having never even heard of these items. I also got some tacos which were also great — the meat was well seasoned & flavorful. The margaritas were a big fat«meh» but the shot of Patron was sweet. Also, we got a free bucket of Coronitas for our wait. So, I wavered between 3 and 4, but I’m nice so I’m going with four. Let’s just work on our reservation skills, eh?
