Great hidden bar, with superior service and a well stocked bar. Food is from Cosmo’s, which works for me. Pretty decent beers on tap. My only suggestion, IF they want to be a more true speakeasy, is better cherries and large cube ice.

This is a great place for a drink by anyone’s standards. Not sure why it is labeled as a dive bar, especially considering the quality of the drinks. We had some great infused cocktails and the bartender, Alex made some amazing custom libations with our liquor of choice. She was super full of energy and mixed maybe one too many perfect cocktails for us. I also am not usually a fan of live music in bars, but they had a guy named Ravi who was playing a mean guitar and really brought some awesome energy to the space. We were only in town for a one night stay, but our late night at this bar was one of the highlights of the whole trip.

They say this is a «dive» bar, but I would have to disagree, it’s more like a bar I went to in NYC a few years ago that was modeled after a speak easy from the 1920’s. The rich wood wall paneling, the barred liquour cabinets and the overall friendly atmosphere combined with the relatively new feel to the whole place makes for a bar slightly above the true«dive» standard. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s got a nondescript entrance(next to Cosmo’s Pizza) that reeks of speak easy. Drinks made from scratch, yes the margaritas are good, and a wide pallet of alcohols make for a good evening of drinking for just about any taste, yes, lot’s of beers on tap too. Matty, the manager/everything at the No Name is happy to help you in any way that he can. Lots of locals, but not local-centric keeps this bar a go-to choice for anyone who likes a small bar with a great atmosphere. I’ve only been there on a Sunday, the only day they do NOT feature live music, so I can’t vouch for the quality of their bands, but after talking with Matty for a bit, about music and how a band needs to fit the room and not the other way around, I could only guess that the bands fill the space perfectly. As for the music, I guess I’ll need to come back on a music night and hear for myself just how good the Boulder music scene is. A great little drinking gem in the college district of Boulder.

This is my go-to bar. It’s the perfect place to start for a night out, and it’s very intimate(though pretty noisy on weekends since it’s so small.) Killer cocktails– they have a list of seasonal infused liquors that you’ve gotta try. The bartender(who seems to live there, as he always serves me) loves to try new things and to recommend his favorites. Best part? Cosmos pizza from next door available to order.

In a college/hippie/yuppie town, it’s hard to come by a bar that isn’t infested with sports/“good vibes”/“contemporary design.” And so, it’s mighty refreshing to find a place unmarked by these signs and instead defines itself by a simple wooden door, friendly bartenders, and a secret’ish environment. The bar is nicely stocked with infused liquors and fresh herbs/spices. Their well whiskey is Jameson so that tells you they are at least one step up from dive bar. They don’t have fernet or other slightly less run-of-the-mill liquors and they didn’t have a cocktail menu that I could see. But they offer the general line-up of mules, dark and stormies, manhattans, etc. They’ve got micro brews on tap including a trippel. The night I was in they were playing some good ol’-timey be bop jazz. Overall an uncompromising hybrid of a bar — intimate enough for some one-on-one conversation, laid back enough for a group of friends, fancy enough for your developing mid-30s taste buds. My only complaint? I don’t know if this is a Boulder thing or not, but the bartender overtly monitors everyone’s alcohol intake. It feels really paternalistic. I’m a grown ass woman who nearly never ‘overdoes it’ and I got the sense that everyone is assumed to be a raging college-kid alcoholic. That and the drinks are pricey(though the shots are handsome — in fact I think all shots are in fact just booze served neat). All in all, not a bad little bar for those of us who aren’t really into any of the dominant cultures in Boulder.

Bartender took the time to muddle olives for my dirty martini. Once you can find it, a great hidden gem.

They serve cosmos pizza for the drunk crowds, but this bar is small and pretty expensive. The pint specials are good but the mixed drinks are meh. Theres no real mixologist talent here in my opinion. Drinks are standard and boring. When asked if there was any house specialities I was sure what to make of the answer which comprised of different names to include drinks I havent heard of before and common every bar has them kind of drinks.

Fine food and beer. not like FINE, but, like adequate food. Good lunch specials. Just get a receipt!!! I paid on cash but at the end of my night they said I didn’t and gave me a bill. I contested, saying I paid, but they insisted I hadn’t. I asked for receipts for my table and they said if you pay cash there is no receipt. this is the first cautionary issue, among many. My guess is the drugged out looking waitresses with dark circles around their eyes are skimming a bit off the top.

My doctoral cohort has been coming here for a few weeks and love it for a post-class beer. With a name like«No Name Bar,» I had a preconceived notion of a grimy dive bar/hole-in-the-wall(which I’m totally cool with by the way). To the contrary, this bar is clean, looks more like a restaurant with large booths and high tables, and the only thing dive-y about it is the pricing. Happy hour runs until 7 p.m. and the craft beer and slice of pizza special is $ 6.(Beer only is $ 3.50) Staff is friendly and attentive and I look forward to many more post-seminar trips to the No Name.

This is an intimate, obscure adult-ish bar on the hill in Boulder. Great happy hour with $ 4 wells and spicy bloody marys. You can order food off of Cosmo’s menu next door. A step up from a dive, and a classic bar that you wouldn’t find downtown.

This is the best bar in Boulder! Obviously, we all like bars for different things, and if you’re looking for a place where you can rage all night long and puke on the floor without getting the boot, then this is not your place. For someone who likes a prohibition style bar, literally no signs anywhere just a big wooden door, that you have to know about(hence the«No Name Bar») to find, then you’ll like this place. It’s small, maybe four or five booths and a bar, but it has style. All the people I’ve met that work there are cool, I’ve never had a bad service experience. It has a very local feel, even though it’s right on the hill in the middle of a huge college campus, you won’t find any Greek Life events going on here. It’s dimly lit, has great ambiance, and their bartenders are great in the lost art of actually having a conversation with the people sitting in front of them. On top of all that, their happy hour includes a deal that runs you $ 6 for a gigantic piece of pizza and a beer. The salads and pizza are amazing and you will not leave hungry with these portion sizes. Go check it out, if you can find it.

Surprising find — IF you can find it. There really IS no name on it, you have to find it by the address, and look for the wooden door. That’s it. The service was EXCELLENT, music was great, and you can order food! Definitely this is a return place, now that I know where it is.

This place makes my best kept secrets lists. Only marked by the big wooden door past Cosmo’s on the hill, this place is a diamond in the rough. Music is live almost every single night and the bands are most, if not all, great. Up and coming bands such as Whiskey Autumn and Cold River City often frequent this asylum. Though known for its proximity to Cosmo’s Pizza, you can actually order the Colorado local pizza in house. An amazing find for those who find it.

Great place to grab a drink. It is somewhat hidden, tho. Just go through that thick wooden door and you will be glad you did. $ 6 big slice of pizza and beer during happy hour was a great idea.
