I went to CMR back when it was called Trojan Ranch, and I was excited to have my kids go when they were old enough. They both loved it. I have enjoyed watching the camp grow over the years, and it is still owned by the same family. They have many different activities for the kids, and the overnight is always the highlight of the week. Highly recommend!

My 7 year old daughters went to CMR for the first time this year, and it was by far the highlight of their summer. Starting from day 1 they were singing camp songs and telling me all about archery, crafts and most importantly horses. They’d never been on a horse before, but after 3 weeks at CMR they felt like old hands. They both did the Thursday overnights without blinking an eye, even though they’d barely been away from home overnight before, so the camp must be doing something right to make them feel so comfortable! There were tears when their 3 weeks were up, and we had to promise them they’d get to go longer next year. They’re practically counting the weeks already. Added bonus: with the pickup and dropoff in North Boulder, it is super convenient.

We are visiting from LA for the summer and sent our two daughters, 6 and 8, to Colorado Mountain Ranch last week – it is amazing. I would highly recommend this summer camp. The owners Mike and Lynn Walker really love children and the counselors are fantastic with children. The location, just a few miles west of Boulder is amazing. They even have a bus that will pick up your child from North Boulder. My daughters especially loved riding horses on the mountain trails, gymnastics and indian lore. Make sure you put lots of sunscreen on the kids as the mountain sun is very strong and the kids are outdoors most of the time. The staff will help children re-apply during the day. This is a great camp for children ages 6 – 16. For mor info check our their web site at
