We stopped by here for a quick lunch and the staff was so friendly and fun we stayed for over two hours. The food was delicious and they happily made me a special salad to accommodate my food allergies. The pastries are fresh and out of this world. The place is small, which gives it a quaint charm, much like you are in Europe.

A true Italian deli. Fresh, simple ingredients, reasonable prices, and delicious pastries. I always go in for Porchetto, a hot sandwich with pork loin and truffle butter. It comes with their house made chips for about $ 8. The bombolone(Italian donut) is mouth-watering as well as the apple fritters. I believe Frasca’s pastry team makes these pastries as well, as this deli is under their small but excellent umbrella of fine Italian restaurants. The place is a tiny hole in the wall with about 7 seats so don’t go with a large group and plan on getting your food to go. They make delicious coffee with roasts from Boxcar Coffee down the street too. Sometimes the thickness of the bread is inconsistent, which really plays a factor on how much the small sandwich will fill me up. many times, I’m tempted to buy two. All in all a great place to get a little slice of what Frasca’s capable of, until I can shell out the money for the mother restaurant.

High quality, super good. Great value. I’ve never been disappointed here. If you’re thinking about it, it’ll be worth it.

Excellent pastries. Best almond croissant I’ve ever had… until they changed it. Staff is very friendly and makes an excellent large chai tea and espresso coffees. They don’t make drip coffee. It’s a charming, small coffee shop with TV and a three inside and one outside table. Tight yet cozy. They provide catering service to local businesses so it tends to get busy inside. What I appreciate is that they heat baked goods on the toaster, no microwave here! So the frittata crust, for example, comes out nice and crispy. What I didn’t appreciate was that right after our first visit when we had the almond croissant that was just perfect(their other pastries are excellent too), their baker changed the formula for that croissant. So now it’s still called«almond» but it has virtually no almond flavor and the rich filling is gone. Kind of like Starbucks calling a muffin«Peaches and cream» and leaving the cream out this year. No kidding. BTW, not sure if you want a large or small drink? I’d choose large if I were you. Anyway, Caffe is great overall and especially for take-out coffee/tea.

Really small café. Service was okay. The soup was too salty. No wifi.

I am not sure if all three restaurants are related, but this café is next to a pizza place which is next to a fancy dining place. They share bathrooms inside. I thought it’s quite neat to have a dinner place, lunch place, and a snack place all together. The food is mostly snack food, and by that I mean you can order pastries, small open face sandwiches, quiches, coffee, etc., something to have after a run or hike, under $ 5, but not big enough portion for lunch or dinner. The food is very tasty and fresh. The bread is simple but flavorful. The homemade donuts and strawberry lemonade is very refreshing. It kind reminds me of Difranco’s in Denver because it’s a small establishment but makes homemade delicious Italian food(more like snack in this case). I would definitely go back there again.

Food is A+. Awesome spot for a quick sandwich and an awesome espresso. Too small to comfortably hang out inside(NYC sized), but almost everything sold there is fantastic. I recommend the Porchetta Sandwich!

It took me forever to notice this place but a friend of mine finally introduced me to it and in some ways I’m glad that it took a little time because all of the baked goods here are so incredible that who knows what would have happened had I discovered it any earlier! I might weigh 20 more pounds! So, I love the atmosphere here. The space is tiny but it feels very European and intimate and I loved meeting up with my friend here and catching up. I don’t think this would be a place to bring your computer and while away the hours, but it’s definitely a fun, social place. I had a delicious, very well made cappuccino but the real star of my morning was this incredible apple fritter. Crispy with glaze, and studded plentifully with caramelized apple chunks, this was definitely my «baked good of the week». I want to try an almond croissant next and one of the delicious-looking sandwiches. Can’t wait to go back!

Really small inside(NYC sized mini café) but perfect for a quick bite or a to go order. It took us about 10 minutes for my boyfriend and I to get out sandwiches and head out, there isn’t really much room to stand to wait for an order but it’s worth the squeeze. I don’t eat pork so most of their favorite sandwiches were off the list for me. I ended up ordering the Manzo Panini(Roast beef, onion, and horseradish) which comes with their house made chips and a pickle for a little extra. It was good, my only complaint being that the meat was a little tougher than I think it was supposed to be. My companion ordered the Italiano and had nothing but amazing things to say about it. I’m not a huge sandwich person however I will be going back to Caffe!

Popped into Caffe while in Boulder for the day. It’s small and doesn’t offer lots of options. Unfortunatley it’s cute but left me a bit underwhelmed.

This place is great! Ive been coming here for a year or so now, and I still have no complaints besides how small the place is(3 two seat tables inside and 1 four person table outside). The people working here are polite and helpful as well. This is one of the only places to get a good Italian sandwich in Boulder. Simple and pure Italian sandwiches go a long way and theyve got that down. I have yet to get a sandwich I do not like here. It is a little pricey for the size of the sandwich, but these sandwiches are pretty filling. You can expect to spend about 8 – 9 $ without a drink(but chips are included and a pickle is a little extra). Their pastries and coffee are also pretty good. I highly recommend this place for a quick Italian sandwich.

Great little place on East Pearl for a quick/casual bite. Hand-crafted paninis and pastries. Probably the best donut and frittata in town. I’ve found the staff pretty friendly. Snag the one table outside if you’re lucky, it’s in shade most of the day. Wish they had wifi, tho.

Last week I arrived at Caffe at 5:30pm, right at closing time. They were apologetic and offered that their pastries were on sale. Well, I was on the hunt for the PIP based on Jason S’ recommendation. This afternoon would be my second chance. Caffe is such a tiny space, but quite welcoming with its interior and service. I ordered the PIP, their twist on the classic BLT. Note: all paninis come with chips and pickles are $.30 extra. The PIP is such an inspiration. The first thing I noticed was the bread, perfect toasty, a good weight. I crunchily bit to savor the fresh tomato, lettuce and crispy pancetta. The individual flavors course through this simple sandwich. The pancetta and fresh tasting tomato were the true winners. Well, besides me, that is. I can’t wait to return. And may I say, what is up with that odd faux wooden deer head?

I was very impressed with Caffe. As someone who has never had the chance [i.e. pocket book] to visit Frasca, I jumped at the opportunity to try one of their off-springs. I don’t like paninis… or that’s what I thought. Truth be told I had never enjoyed a panini in my life before I had the Caffe panini. My world was rocked. I devoured it and now crave another. I split both the Italiano and the PLT(Prosciutto) with my partner. While they were both scrumcious, I would go with a sole-Italiano next time. The success of the sandi is the bread. It’s the type that you want to keep eating even after all the fixings have been consumed. The biggest surprise, however, was the strawberry lemonade. Yummy! It didn’t look like anything special, but upon first taste I knew I was wildly mistaken. It’s a seriously small joint, so be prepared to squeeze in or take to go. We stayed and got the Parisian experience. Three cheers for Caffe!

I recently observed Caffe employees(which were clearly identifiable by their work shirts) taking their daily trash in front of another restaurant’s patio, and I was appalled. If they are under specific instruction, which I assume they are, to not take their trash in front of their parent company’s patio at Frasca Food and Wine, then they should definitely not parade it in front of another business, particularly another restaurant. It’s because of this that I don’t think I’ll be visiting the Caffe any time soon. To me it shows a complete disregard for their neighbor and the community. I don’t know why a very successful company, like Frasca, would not build a private back entrance for their staff to remove the Caffe’s waste. And if there is one, then it just reflects a lazy and careless staff. Either way, it shows bad form by Frasca Caffe.

Pretty good sandwiches; I had the cotto. It didn’t cotto my mouth so that was a plus. Sandwiches come with chips that are in a bag with the same photo print displayed on their wall. Nice touch. Came at 12:30 and it wasn’t a zoo. I don’t know if that’s just Boulder or what. I guess I’m just used to waiting in painful lines and crowds during the lunch hour. Anyway, I’m not complaining. Don’t plan on sitting down if you are more than 2 people. Oh, they also have a good selection of food-related magazines(Bön Appetit, Sauveur, etc) for sale so you don’t have to worry if you didn’t come armed with a book to read while you eat.

Another genius move by the Frasca folks, the minuscule Caffe is something Boulder needs more of: simple but thoughtful food served with minimal fuss and not a burrito in sight! I love being able to walk in, order a sandwich and a cappuccino, and be reading the news and eating within a few minutes. Caffe only seats about ten, which can make it difficult when it’s busy, but also means that it’s peaceful the rest of the time – something else that can be hard to find in the Boulder food scene. The menu is simple: hot and cold sandwiches, espresso drinks, a few salads, a few fresh pastries(including amazing house-made donuts), and some spritzers. But, like everything Frasca does, these are prepared with care using great ingredients proving that fast and simple food doesn’t have to be lazy food. The PIP sandwich – an Italian spin on a BLT using Pancetta – will make you want to die. The espresso drinks are very good. The pastries are heart-breaking. And there’s nothing better than sitting in the afternoon sun sipping an Aperol spritzer. Oh, and for this quality of food, the prices are great. Most of the sandwiches are $ 6-$ 8 and a cappuccino will set you back about $ 2.50. Now, if only we could get them to stay open until 3am.

Everything from here is so freaking good! As a vegetarian, my fave is the Caprese, but B raves about all of the meat sandwiches he gets here. I don’t even typically like onions but the pickled onions they put on the Caprese are a perfect compliment to the delightfully fresh mozzarella, perfectly ripe tomatoes and flavorful pesto on warm bread. The broccoli cheese soup is also a hit. The maple frosted donuts are to die for, as are the chocolate chip cookies and, well, basically everything we’ve tried so far.

Holy moly this place is tiny. Yes, it does«sit 8», but the whole restaurant, kitchen included, is probably 200 square feet, so this is not an environment to study and spread your stuff out in. …Which was exactly what I came here to do! Luckily I was able to grab one of the tiny tables, and got a little work done. I ordered a minestrone soup and a mista salad. The salads are pre-made for grab-and-go convenience. The soup was delicious– i’m not a minestrone person but this was very good. The salad was minuscule, not at all work $ 5.75, but was quite good. I definitely want to return for a sandwich, and definitely for some of the amazing looking pastries that are offered here. I do feel the prices are a little steep: I make a damn good chocolate chip cookie, so charging $ 1.40 per cookie seems a little high to me. Yes, they use Valrhona chocolate, but still. The staff was a little pushy, actually just one girl, who asked what I wanted literally the second I walked in the door. Later, I saw that Frasca had a wireless network, and as they are affiliated, I asked for the password. Aforementioned employee said, «well, 1. it doesn’t work very well, 2. I don’t know, and 3. I don’t think you’re allowed to use it anyway». Um, thanks, Ms. Attitude, a simple«I’m sorry, I don’t know» would have sufficed. Luckily, one of the other, far more accommodating employees made his phone a wifi hotspot and I was able to use it. I will definitely return, but I find the lack of comfortable seating,(none of the chairs have backs) and inconsistent staff a little off-putting.

The Caffe, the third restaurant in the Frasca family, is looking promising. Tucked next to Pizzeria Locale, the Caffe is a cute little nook with 2 tables, and definitely has a deli/coffee bar like feel. A glass counter top filled with goodies sits in the middle, and delicious food items line the walls on shelves. First, there is delicious coffee, yummy pastries, panini and salads. With only 10 seats, be prepared to take your items to go. I personally loved my chocolate chip cookie, my salted caramel and my coffee. I can’t wait to go back and try a panini. Also, they have specialty foods like pasta and Italian candies ready to be stocked up. A few kinks I hope they work out: I love that they have soy milk for coffee, but was sad I couldn’t order just one size larger. I need a full coffee blast in the morning. The other issue is that none of the pastries are dairy free. With the soy, why not go all the way and have some vegan stuff. The same goes for gluten free. I know panini might be a tad difficult for gluten free, but this town has a ton of people who don’t eat any. Finally, I also wish they opened earlier, because I’ve tended to purchase my coffee for the day before 8, and opening at 9:30 means I can’t grab a cup before I head to work. That being said, they’ve only been open 4 days and I’ve been 3 times. Clearly, Caffe is destined to be a favorite.
