Very kind + intelligent people who work there. Much friendlier than University Bicycle, and will work on a wider variety of bikes. Probably one of the last shops with integrity in the area.

My dérailleur hanger and gear cable sheared off my bike recently. I called around to several shops in Boulder to inquire about having the hanger and cable replaced and dérailleur adjusted. After hearing remarkably high labor quotes and/or two to three weeks delays on repairs I came across Boulder Bicycle Works. I was thoroughly impressed with the staff’s demeanor, desire to help and their ability to explain the issue at hand. They gave me the most reasonable quote I had heard so far(which they did not exceed by a penny after the work was completed) and finished the repairs in under two days. My bike is to shifting smoothly once again. I will certainly be returning next time my bike is in need of repair!

I needed a quick brake check on my mtn bike… Brian was willing and able to help me out right away with no issues and at a fair price. He also gladly gave me a desperately needed education on disk brake setup without giving me the«don’t you know this» attitude. Truly top quality service which I plan to return for when I need more work or guidance on any of my bikes, mtn or road. There is nothing better than supporting local owner/operator/mechanics and riders!

Quite simply, Brian and Dave have what most of us are looking for in a bike shop — honesty, integrity, expert knowledge, fair prices, friendly service, and a small shop/community feel. I’ll be back for sure.

Owner/Mechanics Brian and Dave are experts in their field, offering top-quality service at a reasonable price. Wether you need a custom build, a simple repair, or something in between they’ve got you covered. Like the shops of old, where casual riders and aficionados mixed, Boulder Bicycle Works is a throwback to a bygone era where community came first. If you’re an avid rider, or an occasional commuter, this is a shop where you can feel at home.

Boulder Bicycle works is conveniently located just off the Goose Creek Bike Trail. The customer service was as good as it could get. I picked up new grips for my bike and they were cheaper that (half-price actually). They could use a little more bike parking outside. They are my new go-to bike shop.

WINNING. These gentleman fixed my bike in a day! I have an early 1980’s Motobecane Jubilee Sport, which is sporty enough to get me around town. That is, if it’s working. Sweating up a big olé hill, my dérailleur went into my wheel. Bummer. I brought it over to the guys at Boulder Bicycle Works, they checked her in and gave her some love. It was a friendly atmosphere to walk into, which was nice because I was looking like a deer in headlights. Not only were chat and coffee easy to come by, they also let me play on some bicycles. Always a treat. The next day, the called and said my bike was done. When I picked it up, the guys were just as congenial as the day before and tweaked my ride until she was just perfect for me.

Great Spot! After multiple failed attempts to repair the broken front-breaks on my 1992 Cannondale at Boulder’s more prevalent bike shops down on Pearl Street(they didn’t carry the older parts that were«necessary» to get it rolling again”, I had finally found a place that fixed it without a problem. Dropped the bike off and picked it up the next day ready for action. I believe Brian did the bike work, but both guys there were very friendly and informative. Snagged a brochure for century ride in Trinidad, CO.(cyclocross?). Maybe I’ll put it to use :). Paid around $ 50.00 for new breaks and grip tape. They did some basic bike maintenance free of charge.
