I love their strong coffee and quite atmosphere. This is my go to spot to study when I’m at lunch.

At Amante on Walnut where the woman behind the counter can’t be bothered to figure out how to «make the whip cream». She told me «If I want her to play around with it, she could try». Hmmmm… should I ask her to bother to make the hot cocoa with whip cream that I ordered? Feeling badly for the owners. Good help can certainly be hard to find!

I love the setup of this place. It’s modern with a liquor license which goes beyond any typical boulder shop that peddles mostly coffee and baked goods. They make excellent espresso and can put together a balanced cappuccino. The outdoor seating is great; walnut street is not as busy as nearby pedestrian corridors.

We arrived in Boulder for our cousin’s son’s wedding yesterday, and the first thing I like to do is find the best place to have a latte or a cappuccino ! While we walked around Boulder’s lovely town, the aroma of freshly made coffee coming from Amante’s Café on Walnut Street, excited my senses! I debated having a late afternoon latte but decided to wait until this morning. Being an early riser I walked into Amante’s Café at around 7:30 and ordered a large skim latte, I think it was one of the finest cups of coffee I’ve had in a very long time. These guys are experts at making a rich and delicious blend of coffee and steamed milk! I also ordered a phenomenal raspberry scone and an almond croissant !

Meh, not my favorite coffee place in Boulder. We stopped here after a meal at the Med and I think this place was a little too hipster/anti-establishment/I’m 23 years old and misunderstood for my taste. Personal preference of the employees lack of personality aside, I didn’t even finish my coffee. That NEVER happens! It was just too sweet and weak for me, no bueno.

Cool coffee shop with a modern, artsy vibe. Their drinks are decent and their food is yummy. Service is also fast and polite! I always get their dragon well green tea as a pick-me-up in the afternoon. It’s very pleasant, though not very strongly flavored if that’s what you like. I’ve also had their Bhakti chai which, similarly, isn’t very strong. It’s still yummy, but I prefer my chai super spicy. As for snacks, I’ve had a raspberry truffle, orange almond biscotti, and a ham and pepper square breakfast burrito. All are very yummy, particularly the biscotti. They just heat up the burrito for you(it comes prepackaged in their case), but I still think it’s really yummy and makes for a great light lunch or breakfast. Overall, Amante has yummy food and is also a great place to study/work.

3 stars for the coffee, 2 for the attitude and the long wait. The girl working the counter couldn’t even manage a word; she just looked at me. If you’re going to be pretentious, you have to be attractive, That never changes. My macchiato was good, but it literally took 10 minutes to prepare, and I was the only person ordering in the place. My medium macchiato came to $ 4.22, which is exhorbitant. There are better choices all around Boulder.

Great breakfast sandwiches and oatmeal. The lattes are great and the French press coffee is awesome. The price is a little high but worth it for the coffee and food you get.

Not a bad coffee spot just not the best in the area. Coffee is okay and there is a decent amount of pastry selection. Kinda cool that they serve booze later too.

Off beaten path so less crowded then on main drag, Pearl St. If you like amaretto get the shottino(layered espresso shot with amaretto and cream). Different taste every sip. Other than that, pastries variety and freshness aren’t up to higher end shops. Not positive beans were fresh by sight, if so might be due to lower volume of customers. Espresso prep skills were ok, but would require fine tuning to get any more than 3 stars.

I’ve only been here once but the coffee is solid and reasonably priced and the café itself is quiet and chill. Meets all the criteria of a good coffee shop for me.

Really good espresso. It’s small and stylish and the staff were very friendly. Not good for grips though as the seating is limited.

I work in Boulder and my girlfriend came up to work in a coffee shop(this one) for the day from Denver. I came and met her here so we could hang for a little bit, and it’s a pretty cool spot. The atmosphere is good. There seems to be a lot of locals that come in and know the staff, which I think is fun to be around. It’s not too loud, you can get work done if you need to. The wifi is fast even with a lot of people on laptops in the place. The only criticism I have is that I ordered a black coffee and it came in a pint glass. I’m not a fan of coffee in glass even when the glass has a handle, but this was just stupid, I could barely hold it by the time I got back to my table because it was so hot. I know they have coffee cups because that’s what they served their lattes and whatever else people get at coffee shops in. Other than that the place is solid, and the coffee isn’t bad.

Come here during happy hour, they have specials too! Come while you’re walking your dog, they’re pooch friendly. Come in the morning, they’ll make you a drink to wake you up! Come at lunch, they’ll service you a sandwich, hot or cold. Veggie or meat. Come in the evening, they have things besides coffee. Come when you have a sweet tooth, there’s gelato! And other sweet treats. If you love coffee, give Amante’s a try. It’s the original reason I came here. And then I kept coming back because I wanted to try more. And then it kept me coming back, because everything was so good! And not overpriced either. Amante’s is a definite 5 star spot.

The«Shotinos» alone earn this place five stars. During happy hour they are only $ 3 a pop. A shot of amaretto topped with a shot of espresso topped with heavy cream in a tiny shot glass you sip through a straw. Amazing!!! The textures and layers one after the other leave a warmth of wonder in your mouth as it travels down your throat, caffeine pumping through your blood stream wiring you for the afternoon while the amaretto mellows you out and warms your gut. So so worth it. I dream about the Shotinos! The service is good. The prices are reasonable. The ambiance is like any other coffee shop. Street parking. Bring your IDs as these caffeinated alcoholic beverages require carding!

Cool spot with a definite Euro feel to it. Great espresso and some interesting espresso/gelato combinations on the menu. A great sized patio relative to the size of the shop and they are dog friendly, natch.

Good spot for coffee. Their espresso drinks stand up to anything I’ve had elsewhere in San Francisco or New York. Plenty of seating and wifi made this place the ideal spot to work out of or meet up with folks.

On a breezy Monday morning, my wife and I stopped by for coffee and tea. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the coffee and tea. Great! My first time ordering a chai tea, and I was very impressed. Will surely visit again.

Short & sweet: Service: 5 Coffee: 5 Wait time: 5 Price: 4 Cleanliness of bathroom: 5 Small, but cozy, Amante is more than a café. The possibilities of Amante are endless. I can drink wine. I can order other alcoholic beverages. I can happily swallow their gelato. I can over-caffeinate myself on coffee. My latte(I kept it tame) came to me perfectly, with delicate latte art — yum, and I was offered a sample of their gelato — yum. The baristas were friendly, but not uncomfortably so. The booths are perfect for«working»(aka staring at other customers and eavesdropping on their conversation). Just outside of Pearl St., Amante’s is perfect for a late night caffeine fix.
