I had heard about this shop a couple of years ago but had not been in it until last spring after I saw some pictures on Unilocal of some items that looked like just the gift I needed to get for someone. I have now been in a few times and have bought quite a few smaller gift items, though they do have some substantial pieces there too. All are nicely made and in general have a sleek modern style and a handmade look, though they are obviously commercially made. I have not seen any of their items in other stores in Boulder but I have received gifts from other parts of the country of similar or actually the same item.
Everyone in the store has been helpful and courteous, whether an employee or occasionally the owner is present.

While running errands downtown the sign for the Alpine Modern shop caught my eye (last year I attended a launch party for their print only magazine next door at the Bohemian Biergarten. It was a ton of fun).
I chatted with the gal working behind the register and she noted that the business had indeed been there for quite some time and the owner/​manager was also greatly involved in the magazine.
Perusing the store I noted many unique gifts (jewelry, puzzles, candles) which I had fun looking at, picking up and of course snapping a few pictures of. The next time I have an out of town guest I will likely bring them here to pick up something special/​nice to remember their visit.
