Sara contacted me offering an apology for the oversight and sent a check immediately for more than the cost of the original gift certificate(to compensate for time). She even emailed to check and make sure that I had received the check. I want to reiterate that Sara is an amazing massage therapist, and she was very open and kind about not sending the check in a timely manner.

Signed up online for a massage and received 2 email confirmations and was asked to fill out a pre-massage information sheet. Showed up 15 minutes early, as instructed, and nobody was there. Still nobody there at appointment time so I called and left a nice message on the new owner’s phone. Website says under new ownership as of 2013. No return call. Left another voicemail almost 20 minutes later. Still nothing. It’s been 3 days since my scheduled massage that I never had. No return call. No apology. No contriteness that they made me take that time out of my day for nothing. How about a simple call with an apology? How hard would that have been? Would NEVER do business with this place again. So much for new ownership!

Does anyone know if this place is stil open? They closed several months ago and it looks like they re-opened. However, I have tried to book a massage with a groupon I received as a gift and I can’t get ahold of anyone. I’ve left a voicemail, an email, and called a couple more times. I had a great massage here about a year ago from Caleb. It’d be nice if I could go back, or if they would put up a message on their site if they’re closed.

My boyfriend and I had purchased the Groupon back in June and decided to redeem it this month. They fit us both in for a tandem, and when we arrived they asked us if we wanted to be in the same room. This required changing the set up they had, which would have invariably taken away from the time allotted for our massage(75 min)…or so I thought. We enjoyed the experience of being in the same room, even though I fell asleep about 10 minutes into the treatment. They massaged us for the full 75 minutes, and we were both impressed with the therapists. This place definitely gets 5 stars for not only their therapists’ abilities to rid us of knots, but also for their style and service. Well done!

Got a great deal through , so tried them out. Scheduling through Groupon was difficult as open appointments were few, far between, and at times I considered inconvenient. Definitely felt like a second class citizen there. Already annoyed, I was not impressed with the exterior of their building. Parking was good, but the place looked pretty shady. I was not hopeful. Once inside, lobby décor was prettier. I was early, and sat for 15 minutes without seeing another human being, and began to wonder if I would. There is a sign in the lobby advertising that a business connected with the Mindful Body also offers massage for horses. I understand from horse-owning friends that this is a pretty awesome service for the horses, but not being a horse person myself, you can imagine that by this time I was really starting to question if I’d made a mistake… Further, by this time in the review, YOU are starting to question why I gave this place 4 Stars! Everything changed when we walked into the room for the massage itself. This is no small industrial cubicle of a room you might find with a chain store competitor. This was a really large room lined with bright windows down one side. The windows were entirely covered with paper shades so the room was filled with cheerful morning sunlight, but privacy was assured. The room was nicely and warmly decorated. My massage therapist was Jim, whom I understand practices there only on weekends. The Groupon was for a 75 minute message with aromatherapy. They have a wide selection of scents to choose from; I chose orange blossoms. I love perfumes, so I’m hardly sensitive to too much smell as a caveat. That said, I thought the aroma was subtle, just a nice element in the background. The 75 minutes seemed blissfully to last FOREVER! I was certain at various points that the massage therapist had kindly given me extra time, or perhaps had thought I booked 2 hours. I was genuinely surprised to check my watch at the end to see that we were right on time at 75 minutes. Jim was very talented as a massage therapist. I asked for Deep Tissue, and I really enjoy a massage which works out knots and kinks to improve my comfort longer-term rather than just relax for the hour. Jim did a great job! Once I was on their mailing list, I’m now seeing coupons come through email every few weeks. They offer some great specials, particularly if you want to book a series of appointments like 3 or 5. Despite the rocky start, this was an exceptionally positive experience, and I will definitely return, and recommend The Mindful Body to others. P. S. After posting this review, I received a courteous response from the owner of The Mindful Body. I respect and appreciate any business that takes public reviews seriously. This business went up a little further in my estimation after that. — I also understand that they have just rolled out a new scheduling program that is supposed to make things easier.
