so, i just came home from scopazzis. 5 people, $ 300. lived here for 30+ years. guests from the UK(who are restaurant/hospitality people). wanted the boulder creek/scopazzis experience(the good kind). i am so embarrassed, and so disappointed. waiter had an attitude(actually disagreed with me when i had questions/issues). 2 of the 5 entrees were cold. the steak was ill-butchered and very gristly. flambeed table-side, and didn’t ask if we wanted the extra sauce(we did.). brought the after-dinner scotch in a martini glass, totally watered down(ordered neat; «i don’t know, that’s what they gave me at the bar…»). never came around to see how things were. totally sucked… i have a love/hate relationship with scopazzis. going to the hate side for awhile. very very disappointed. unfortunate…

The bar is a nice casual yet classy ambiance with fireplace area — peaceful unless theres a baseball game or something interesting for men to yell at. The food wasn’t too amazing yet still costly it seemed. I had the Lasagna a couple times here now and it is the same type of food I could probably get at home. Which is nice — it’s home cooked meal feel is nice and I couldn’t say scrumptiously delicious necessarily so I wouldn’t say that is worth the over the top midsize portion for large dollars.(You pay for the atmopshere and ambiance more than the food, so make sure to either get an appetizer and share it with your love and then go somewhere else? Or get a meal together and share it, thats romatical. The service was attentive and no issue there at all. I only gave two stars because the«Meh I’ve experienced better’ is a pretty spot on statement with this one.

A really cool place, but it’s expensive and we didn’t really care for the food. The antipasti was so so, pretty generic actually. My daughter said she liked the veal. My husband’s steak had a big tendon line in it and the flavor was meh. My venison was their signature dish and I hated it. The sauce they put on it tasted like the bottom of a metal pan, totally ruining it. Service was fine. I might give it another chance, but I actually don’t mind driving to Ben Lomond if I want Italian.

–Lovely outside seating. –The interiors inside were pretty good. –Nice to go for a late lunch on the weekends after a hike at Redwoods. –The orders were all swapped and they might have to be bit careful on that.

The décor in the place is so cool and spooky at the same time. It has the old time restaurant feel to it. I felt bad for our waiter he was the only one there during lunch and it took the poor guy sometime to get back and forth from the patio to the inside of the restaurant. I enjoyed his friendly personality while he was so busy. The service is 4 stars. The food fell short it was good but I thought going in it would be amazing. I would go back but more for the drinks than the food

A one star because the atmosphere was nice but the bartender Sandy who waited on us provided us with near to no service. She never smiled and we felt as patrons we were unconvincing her. Had to wave our arms in the air to get her attention on numerous occasions. Both of us are in the service industry and we tip very well but we were reluctant to tip her at all. Reading other reviews it sounds like management doesnt seem to care. Too bad. Been going there since a child with my family grew up in the area. Not impressed anymore.

We drove about an hour just to see what was in Boulder Creek and Scotts Valley and picked this place mostly at random. Standard fettuccine alfredo for my daughter, reuben sandwich for me and an eggplant something for my wife. Everything was good. Service was was fast and friendly. We liked the ambiance and seating.

We were recommended this place by the amazing bartender at Joe’s and Bruce(realtor showing us a local home). Sweetbreads were awesome! Spumoni ice cream was spectacular! And the atmosphere was amazing! A definite must return spot… no matter the distance we had to drive to get there!!! Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for a romantic dinner or just to get away from the city!

Overrated, I don’t know if they changed chefs but I was recommended this place by two people and the food was not great and very expensive. Not my favorite italian place in the Valley.

Been coming here for about 50 years and still love it. Try the Fish Almondine. You will go to heaven and back. Their salads are great. And for a treat order the Bananas Foster or Cherries Jubilee for dessert. They Flambé it right in front of you. Their Artichoke Appetizer is the bomb! I order it for dinner often so if there are vegetarians out there, try this with a salad. Their bread is always soft and warm. And you get antipasto when you sit down. The service is great and the ambiance is warm and inviting. No music(thank you) and not too noisy. The bar food is really good as are the drinks. Saturday night is for Prime Rib and baked potato(the only night they serve it.) Delicious. We love this place and it is consistently good. Highly recommend this spot!

Over-rated imho. We sat outside last night; inside is just too dark — the décor looks as if it hasn’t been updated since it opened. Our waitress Molly was wonderful. A man, the owner perhaps. hovered and continually whispered under his breath to her(«Pick up the calamari plate») which was disrespectful and unnecessary, as she was on tops of things. I was embarrassed for her. The food ranged from ok to meh. We didn’t know what to do with the«relish» plate, which included 4 black olives straight out of the can(as in Safeway, not artisan), 2 pepperoncini, carrot and celery sticks, and lentils. The bread was not served warm. Calamari fritti was light and nicely done. My spaghetti bolognese was edible, not luxurious as expected, and the pasta was overcooked. My husband ordered the venison. He said it tasted like a deer smells. He put a slice on my plate and I declined, even though I’ve never smelled deer. When craving Italian food, I’ll look elsewhere next time.

We went to have some appetizers and cocktails. The bartender ignored us for 25 minutes and we finally just got up and left… We called later to let the management know of our experience… he told us to «go to hell»? Really? We called again… thinking that we got an employee instead of a manager… and he told us to.“F… off!” Really? Customer service at it’s best… or worst… Stay far away… Not a good place!!!

Great place. Good food. Excellent service. Ask for Danny and Justin, as they are great waiters. Sandy and chad are also great bar tenders. Alan does never let my drink go low. All and all it was a great experience. Couldn’t ask for any more

Ordered two full loaves of garlic bread to go for a birthday party the first part of May, 2015. Bread arrived at house and put out for guests. Not one guest could bite through the bread it was so burnt. Sent letter to restaurant owner and asked for reimbursement. Also sent picture of bread that we threw in the garbage. Not any response to the letter. Never again.

I can’t remember much from the last time I was here, but I remember the food was good, the service was great, and the place was very popular. The burgers and ice cream there are pretty good. It’s a nice, upscale American place, pretty different from the other restaurants in the area.

The Best Cesar Salad On The Planet! Scopazzi’s is hands down the number one Restaurant in the San Lorenzo Valley period the end. Scopazzi’s has been around forever. The service is first star, the food is and always has been high quality. The ambience, the fire place, the history, it truly has it all. This is a five star!

We came here for the Veterans day SLV museum fundraiser. It was sooooo good! I didnt get to eat much because I am gluten free — but it seemed like everyone else loved their options also. I love that not much has changed in the place. My family built it and made it what it is. I would not want to change any of that. When my grandfather owned it, it was in its hay day. Might be that I am more sentimental and prefer anything NOTFASTFOODDECOR. Who knows. Anyways, if you want to eat Italian food, you can come here. I do wish they had some things my family had on the menu, but thats ok. Its still great. Keep it up!

Since 1915, this place has been in business starting as a loggers stop to tourist hotel, and finally after change of ownerships to become Scopazzi’s restaurant from the golden ages. I hear it was open during the true prohibition ages and I can feel the old spirits hanging around. I had venison with shiitake mushrooms as our server said its not gamey. It was definitely gamey but I liked it since it was soft & medium rare tenderness. I also tried the pickles, scallops, minestrone & steak. All were good and the company as well as the ambiance of Scopazzi made the dinner experience really nice. The carts going by and antique froufrou calmness of the 50s was a different kind of secretly cool. The servers are friendly & kind, but don’t come if you’re not into this type of scenery or hipster. It’s probably not what you’re looking for. Live piano, fireplace, nice wood hostess table etc all hidden in Boulder Creek.
