Lori did an AMAZING job on our dessert table!!! The cake was just how we wanted it, it was perfect! I gave her pictures of how I wanted it to look and she worked her magic and created just that. My heart was sooo happy when we went to cut the cake. I saw the dessert bar and I could not have been happier. It was amazing and in my eyes, perfect. Everything worked out just as planned. She was very very easy going, kind and awesome to work with. Lori delivered the desserts and arranged everything so well. Her prices are great as well! Whatever we wanted, she was able to make. We had chocolate covered strawberries, lemon bars, different kinds of mini pies, and a few other desserts. I will DEFINITELY be going to
Lori again when I need a cake or dessert bar! We are very pleased with how it all turned out. Thank you Lori for all the time and effort you put into helping make our wedding day amazing! We appreciate it very much.

Made the best birthday cake for my daughter that we have ever had. I sent her several pictures of what I wanted and she nailed it. We will definitely be getting all our cakes here in the future.

Dessert First’s coffee cake is out of this world! Hands down the best in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Jenna Sue’s Coffee Shop sells Monster size pieces of it. Salivating just thinking of the crumb topping and the perfectly balanced cake.

We used Dessert First for our wedding cake and wedding cupcakes and Lori was AMAZING! Not only was she inexpensive, but she did such a great job and everything tasted great! We had three different cupcake/​frosting flavors and a cake with some very unique flavors and she accommodated all of our requests and did a fantastic job! She is so sweet and so great at what she does! :)
Our wedding was Oktoberfest themed and she did an amazing cake for us with the blue and white checkers and german figurine on top. It was perfect and everything tasted great. Thanks Lori!!!

Lori never does wrong! Everything is consistently delicious. She has made over 50 orders for my personal and retail use, and every time it is perfection. She is a great person and always helps community events. Most importantly, her products are WONDERFUL!

My husband and I got married October 1^st– our originally booked bakery cancelled before the wedding and we found Dessert First– Lori was able to make our wedding cake at a great price and it was beautiful and delicious! We couldn’t have been happier, and we keep hearing from guests how good it was. We totally recommend her.

I’m sure all that other stuff people reviewed is great, but I have never tasted a better chocolate butter cream frosting cake! And I’ve tasted many from high end bakeries. Makes me want to order another one right now!

This bakery is fantastic. I am a bit of a «princess cake» fanatic (white cake with cream, wrapped in marzipan) and this bakery knocks my socks off every time. They have really nailed it on quality and value.
I’ve ordered baked good several times. They are always done to specification, and on time. They taste fantastic and the price is very competitive.
if you are looking for a high-​end bakery shopping experience with lots of glamour, you are not going to get it here. The shop is clean, but rustic. But the bakery items, without fail, are fantastic.

My business buys all our custom desserts from Dessert First. So far they have made us boxes of pastries, like lemon squares, mini pecan pies, chocolate ganaches, and mini-​cheese cakes.
Each pie crust is flakey and made with butter. And everything else is made with sugar.
Buttercream frostings are fluffy and never too heavy. The whipped cream frostings stay stable for days.
We have ordered and sampled a delightfully light lemon-​poppy seed cake with effortlessly light whipped cream icing, a angel-​food and fresh strawberry filled caked, and chocolate cake filled with rum and strawberries.
If you want a custom cake or pastry, this is the place to go! You can have it just the way you want! If you have a reciepe for your grandma’s special cookies, she can make it for you too.
You won’t find it on the map though, it’s hidden back behind the Coffee House that front’s the business. Just go into the Coffee place and ask for Dessert First and sometimes you can even pick up a fresh huge muffin or a pastry just out of the oven in the display
Cake prices run between 20.00 to 35.00 depending on how many layers.
Muffins and pastries are about 1.75 to 2.50.
