Trailside Apts

Moved from California to Bothell and found this place, which I thought would be nice. The Manager Robert Gallegos looked like a nice guy… turns out he was only nice until you sign the lease. He went through the lease talking and talking so much that you cant even take a second to read through the details… in hindsight, it feels as though he was trying to distract us from reading the fine print. The apartment we rented was not available for viewing before we had to decide if we would accept it, and with things being so competitive in this area we felt like we had to just take it. They didnt show us a model unit or even just let us look in to get the general size and layout before taking it. Our mistake! The pictures make it look open and bright but inside even on the brightest sunniest day its dark and dim and there is a TON of road noise from Bothell Way.
Additionally you have to pay for everything EXCEPT garbage costs… You pay Water, Sewer, Electric… and the place isnt updated with good window insulation, so what seems like a good deal at first ends up actually costing more especially during the cold winter than if you just went to a newer building with better windows and energy efficient appliances. The place is run down… when we got in to the apartment the tub in the second bathroom had been «resurfaced» and when we (finally!!) were able to read the fine print in the lease they say if the resurfacing chips we have to pay for it… on an old janky tub! Seriously?
As we decided to leave the area, we had some questions about the final bill for damages… we only lived here for 6 months and are extremely clean and quiet people… Robert blew up in hysterics just because we walked over to ask him about the billing breakdown. Not only does he have anger problems but also belittled us as if we are dumb to even ask questions. We are careful with our money and felt the breakdown wasn’t correct, so because we ask about it we deserve to get screamed at? No thank you. Not only is this apartment run by a jerk but also is a place that has noisy, rude, ghetto tenants who couldnt care less if they live in a shared space. Our upstairs neighbors would scream at each other fighting until after midnight, and during the day they let their kids run absolutely wild upstairs, slamming doors, jumping and screaming all day long. When we reported the nighttime adults fighting to Robert, he basically said there was nothing he could do about it. And from that moment on the neighbors were nasty to us… who KNOWS what he said to them! You can hear the water LOUD running through the walls when people flush the toilet and when they shower. GROSS! DONT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE! the money you save is not worth the headaches.
