I might have finally found the stylist and the place. Quite on accident too. We were eating across the street while the place was being built out. Apparently they were on Bothell Way a while ago, but have now moved downtown.
Tim is the owner and knows what he’s doing with a pair of scissors. My best friend has never looked better since she’s started getting her hair colored and cut by Jackie. When we first went in to check it out and make an appointment, Jackie was completely honest. She took a look at both of us, said that she could do my friends cut & color and that I was more suited for Tim’s style of cutting.
You never change seats or walk from one part of the salon to the next — the sink is right there in front of the mirror. Tim took the time to discuss what I was so unhappy about from my previous cuts and what I really liked about the cut that I was getting previous to the bad cuts. As with any new relationship, it will take time for it to be absolutely perfect, but it’s waaaaay better than what I was getting since my favorite stylist moved away. And it took her a year before we got the right cut too.

A few years ago there was a stylist named Xavier who worked here who was excellent; he charged around $ 35/​cut, always had good ideas and did a terrific job. At some point he left (I’m not sure where he went); I’ve gone there twice since and haven’t been nearly as happy with my haircut — plus it cost more money.
