Magic Dragon is now CLOSED. If you look in, it looks as if the people just disappeared! There’s still signs, chairs, steam table, etc. It’s just closed. Along with everything else in the building — Hollywood Video and it’s related video game store. It won’t be missed.

After stopping at Home Depot next door I came to the little strip mall across the street and looked at my food options: Garlic Jim’s(not in the mood for pizza), Quiznos(eh…), and Magic Dragon. I opted for Dragon and while it wasn’t terrible it certainly was the worst of the three choices. You know that«Chinese» «food» they serve in the grocery store delis? Yeah, that’s what you’re getting here. It’s edible, but doesn’t have a lot of flavor, freshness, or appeal. I can’t recommend this place unless maybe you were on your way to Garlic Jim’s or Quiznos and you started to faint from hunger before you could make it to their door and you only had the strength to make it into Magic Dragon. Otherwise steer clear.

I’ve been to this place a few times, and it’s not that bad but it’s not good either. The only times I’ll go to this place is if everything else is close or I’m too lazy to drive.

Food is not made to order, so everything is soggy. Go across the street.

They go down one star today. The chicken teriyaki that I got today tasted like it was from last night — hard & dark. * Note to self: Don’t go to Magic Dragon right around opening time because you may get last night’s leftovers. Yuck.

For those of you who have been to a Magic Dragon before, this Bothell/Woodinville location is surely the best of all them!(I have been to Mill Creek, Canyon Park, Ballard, and the former Aurora Village and Mountlake Terrace locations). This branch is much better and has just what you need for a quick lunch. It is fast, fresh, cheap chinese food.. . and it tastes good. You walk in, all the entrees are right there so you can see them. You pick what you want, and they load it on your plate right in front of you. You can order just individual items or get one of the various combo plates. It is like Safeway chinese food, but tastes way better. I love the chow mein. Brocolli beef and mandarin chicken are also very good. The nice thing about Magic Dragon is it doesnt have that heavy MSG taste to it, although some of the deep fried items are kinda fatty. Fast, cheap, and good tasting chinese food.. . make sure to get the chow mein!(and dont be afraid to add some of the firey hot sriracha sauce, provided on each table).

Not the closest Magic Dragon to my house, in fact, I’ve only been to this location once when having lunch with my mom. She works in this business park. Nothing differed here than from the one on ‘my side’ of town. Points for consistency at different locations. My mom, however, loves this place. This ‘Americana Chinese’ is one of her weaknesses. This review is definitely for their outstanding customer service. Mom works an odd shift(the same one I had when I used to work for that same company) and is lucky to get a ‘non rush’ lunch hour. The owner/employee here knows her, remembers her, and will make her favorite dishes, per her request, and have them ready *just for her* on her lunch hour. He even comments whether she is late to lunch! When she was sick, missed a few days of work, and thereby lunch here, the next time she came in he nearly grilled her to make sure she was ok… and wasn’t lunching anywhere else! ;-) That type of service seems to be rarer and rarer these days. Good job guys!

Good, cheap americanized chinese food… I definitely recommend the Chow Mein — I might end up living off of it since I’m working not more than 5 minutes from here for the next few months. The dishes aren’t completely immersed in sauce, nor is the breading on the chicken super thick — you get a LOT of food for your $ 6.502 item plate. The guys working there were not at all conversational, but they were quick and managed the lunch rush effectively, there were never more than 2 people waiting in line even though there was a constant stream of people coming through the door while I was eating.
