Ivar’s Restaurants

I was pleasently surprised. I’ve always resisted going here. But I gave into my mom. It was really good. We had a 3 drinks, the clam chowder, crab cocktail and the shrimp cocktail. All for under $ 15. I was full and my pockets weren’t empty.

I hadn’t been here for a long time, and after stopping today, I remember why. My wife and I had brunch as Ivar’s Salmon House last summer and the food was wonderful! So, shouldn’t the clam chowder be as good here? Evidently not!
I got the Fish, chowder and drink combo and asked for cole slaw in place of the fries. The clam chowder was not thick, rich and creamy as I expected, more watery. My fish came out with FRIES! When I forced her to look at the ticket, she saw that I did order cole slaw and brought some. The cole slaw was a bit too sweet, and the fish portion was very small.
While we were there, they got orders mixed up for two tables with similar names. Called a name and went to the first one without verifying the order. Brought extra items to the second table and had to give the first table their missing chowder.
Now I remember why it had been a while since I had eaten here!
