The coffee here is godly, and easily better than Stopwatch, Commons Café, or even Starbucks. With its very flavorful taste, it is by far the best coffee on campus. I’ve been here three times already, and my experience with the baristas was extremely positive every single time. Remember that they’re students just like you, so if you treat them with respect, they’ll return the favor. :) As such, I found that they are very nice and prompt with your order. If you’re on campus and are thinking about coffee, definitely give this place a chance! 2016 Edit: Well, came back here after a little more than a year. A little disappointed to see the quality has dropped somewhat. Coffee tasted ok, but a little on the bland side. Miss the cute little latte art too. What really got me is the food — rock hard cookies and a doughnut that tasted very old — a little disappointed.

Food For Thought(FFT) is the student café located within the UW Bothell Bookstore, shared with Cascadia Community College. Relatively new(opened in Winter 2011), FFT features coffee, tea, smoothies, as well as a stockpile of convenience-style snacks(chips, soda; pre-made sandwiches & salad, etc.). As one of the few food options available on campus, I decided to stop by today and grab a coffee to «awaken my senses.» Little did I know that the senses that were awakened involved frustration and disgust(okay, those aren’t really senses: P). The frustration kicked in after waiting in line for awhile, and then, after placing my order while waiting in line, I finally reached the register and it decided to malfunction. Three workers(including a manager) struggled to open the cash register, for literally 5 minutes, while the coffee I had ordered was sitting there, becoming cold and lonely. Now, being a Seattle-type person that is used to waiting, I endured this pain. However, disgust began to settle in when the workers did not acknowledge said problem(no apologies, no nothing), and probably wouldn’t have did anything about the coffee if I didn’t point out that it had been sitting on the bar for awhile. Honestly, at this point, I wanted to leave and withdraw my order. Yet the cashier charged my card already, so yes, I wanted a new coffee! Okay, mind you, I was a bit irritated and probably wouldn’t have been as rude as the workers probably interpreted my demands for a new coffee… but seriously, customer service here is lacking. As someone who has experienced working retail while hormonal pregnant women picked out clothing(I worked at Gymboree), I UNDERSTAND, probably even more so. And to be treated like this? Pffft. That’s not even the icing on the cake. The coffee was burnt. Gross. Plus, one of the baristas was b**ching up a storm about one of the customers [most likely, meee!] could chose any other place to get coffee. Haaaa, super classy talking smack LOUDLY like that while I’m sitting there. And then I didn’t get offered a receipt… watch them charge $$ for the crappy little coffee that was definitely not worth it. Never coming here again.
