I’ve been going to him for over 15 years. He’s great! I remember him with the van and came to my place for oil change and stuff. Now he has a full building to himself. Very successful and hard working guy :) Happy for him!

Been meaning to write this review for awhile now. The service here is incredibly spotty. I went in for a realignment and drove off with a loud *clunk clunk* sound repeating over and over, and realized the alignment was worse than when I had initially brought it in. I suspected they were getting high school students to work on my car, and the kid did it wrong. Fortunately he did make up for it, and it got fixed in the end.
As for the customer service – this is also pretty spotty unfortunately. I don’t have the luxury of making phone calls at work (and I work the same hours they are open unfortunately), so I emailed them, and he accepted my appointment (took him a week to respond). When I came in, I got the stink eye from Eric. When I paid for my service he just glared at me for an uncomfortable amount of time and he scolded me for using email instead of calling by phone. While some days here seemed to be good, I found this to be quite rude. While it seems out of character based on the other reviews, I still cannot recommend this place to anyone unfortunately.

I brought a friend to buy a used car from Eric. I agree with all the 5-​star reviews, and wonder about the single bad review posted. Someone had a very bad day on the day the bad review was posted. I don’t think it was Eric. Because he is a man of integrity. He held the car for my friend who later changed her mind, even though there were others waiting to purchase the vehicle. AND Eric gave my friend a full deposit refund even though he could have kept all of it, since he had «held» the car for her for two days.
Where else are you going to find a hardworking business owner and mechanic like Eric? He is very rare. Integrity, friendliness, and kindness! Thank you Eric and your wife. You are wonderful.

There are certain service industries that are essential to life and in a car culture one of the foremost is an auto repair shop. For many drivers, it is a misnomer to apply the time-​honored values of integrity, honesty and scruples to a mechanic, but every now and again, you find what you had given up believing in – a solid mechanic with an ethical business practice. I’m new to Seattle, I’m a woman, and have limited knowledge of my car and what makes it run. In other words, for many auto repair places, I’m an easy mark.
I found Eric several months ago on Unilocal.My battery light had gone on, I was concerned and a diagnostic proved to be nothing of any consequence. The fact that he didn’t try to find something wrong made a huge impression. The fact that he did the diagnostic as a courtesy was smart business. One day, I would be back.
Today, was that day when a similar thing happened and with family coming in from out of town, I was seriously concerned. I called Eric right away and he agreed to look at the car immediately. Despite no appointment and other cars being serviced, he tested my car right away, identified the problem, got the parts, did the work, charged a very fair price, including a discount, and I was out of there within two hours — relieved and grateful that he is in the neighborhood.
I noticed another reviewer here who spoke of the fact that in today’s economy, it is difficult, if not impossible, to find «honest and dependable people» that you can count on; the people I deemed as «essential» in my opening paragraph. This man is not only thorough, reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy, but he’s got what is lacking in today’s world — character.

Eric is wonderful! I began taking my car to his shop because my boyfriend recommended it. I love being able to support smaller, family owned businesses like his! Eric is always SO kind and honest which is really important to me since I don’t know much when it comes to cars. He is reasonably priced and never does anything that isn’t absolutely necessary for my vehicle. You can truly trust his advice and his work has never left me doubtful of that.

I want to start off by saying that in todays economy it is incredibly hard to find honest and dependable people to do business with. Once you find your doctor, handyman, real estate agent, and so forth you tend to stick with them for life. Well I am beyond thankful that I have found Eric and the incredible service he has delivered to my entire family and network.
I was recommended to Eric by a friend as I was in dire need of a mechanic I could trust. After one visit I knew that I would never have to look for a mechanic ever again. I have brought my mothers toyota, sister mini, girlfriends Rav4, and my mitsubishi to him time after time. Eric has replaced my timing belt, brakes, water pump, oil changes, o2 sensors, and so much more at INCREDIBLE rates. He is trustworthy, honest, and focused on delivering outstanding service.
I am shocked that anyone could leave a bad review for his small business and it speaks volumes that for that one negative comment boasts a ton of positive ones. Seems as if the individual picked the wrong car not the wrong mechanic.
Furthermore, let me set the record straight that everyone knows how hard it is to find an outstanding mechanic they can trust. If you take 15 minutes next time you stop by Erics and simply ask him about his story he will tell you that he built his business from the ground up. The truck that says Erics Auto out front was how he operated his business from the very start going on-​site and creating satisfied clients.
To recap here are the reason why I will continue doing business with Eric:
* Honest, hard working, focused on fixing major problems first, competitive pricing, genuine, family owned and operated, and outstanding customer service.
–Eric, thank you for delivering that Nordstrom level of customer service to me and my family time and time again. You have a long term client here and here to stay.

I had my car to his garage because turn wheel has issue and found him on Unilocal for high rate. He did not tell he will charge diagnosis and will call me before fix anything. Afternoon, he called me and said he had ordered parts need to be replaced. When I got bill, it shows me one hour diagnosis, two hours for replacement, hour rate is 88 $/​h. I do not feel it is reasonable price for such family garage.

I choose Eric because I saw that there are so many 5 stars here and he can speak Chinese! But it was a nightmare during that time.
Our car’s check engine light is on and we have already got a check report from Toyota Dealer which shows that we need to open the engine and spend at least $ 1200. I felt that if this is true, we will choose to trade this old car in and don’t want to paid that much. Then someone recommended me Eric. I found him and after he checked my car he told me that we don’t need to do that, and it is totally just a small problem and cost roughly in hundreds. He did something more like changing the filter after that. and charged me $ 800. I was so happy! But after one week, the check engine light is back! I came to Eric again and this time he said that it is the engine problem… And charge me $ 1200… I feel painful… I felt that if I know this in the first time, I will not do this anymore. So far I spend 2000 on this old car… I argued with him and he give me only $ 20 discount!!! It is not a typo, yes, it is $ 20 discount from his mouth… I don’t want to bother too much, and just left. After 3 days, the engine light came back again!!! WTF!!! I called him, and you know what he said to me. He said that I need to sell this car to someone and he can help to force the light off!!! He is so mean! I can’t believe that he want me to cheat other people to buy this problem car!!! I just argue with him to give my money back! And he even cursed me in the phone! But I don’t have any proof to say that he is wrong and I cannot get my money back. It is like to see doctor and doctor did something wrong and you just should know that you are bad luck with this bad doctor.
Be careful to go to this place!

Eric is a true professional! My car limped in to his shop and he took care of me right away. He only charged me for one hour of labor even though he spent more time than that fixing my car.

I had a front wheel bearing replaced at Eric’s and they had the very best price in the area, even lower than other independent shops. Eric showed me the bad bearing as soon as I arrived. We talked a lot about cars and he obviously knows a lot about Passats and BMWs. I do all my own car work (that does not require special shop tools) so I know how to spot a sharp mechanic. I would not hesitate going back with my VW or BMW.

I’m almost hesitant to give Eric 5 stars because I would love to keep him all for myself, but fair is fair and he really does an excellent job for a very reasonable price. Of all the mechanics I have ever taken my car too, this guy is a keeper. He’s quick, fair and knows what he is doing. He has had several opportunities to upsell or overcharge me but he doesn’t work that way. He’s just an honest guy who is great at what he does.

My husband and I took our Nissan Pickup in for a clutch job. The price quoted was fair and it was what i paid when we picked up the truck. I told Eric we must have the truck back by Friday at 5, when i brought it in on a Wednesday. He had it ready when we called to check early Friday afternoon. He also found a problem with the power steering cable (It had broken) and replaced it for us. I am so happy to find an honest and good mechanic. I highly recommend Eric’s Auto Repair. I know we will use his services again.

Eric is awesome. It was such a relief to find someone to work on my car who i trusted. Eric is honest and fair and he always does a great job.

I went to the shop this morning to replace front disc brake pads, the facility is great, flat screen tv, drinking water, leather sofa. A lady gave me some Chinese newspaper to read while I am waiting, Eric talked to me and showed me the brake components and old brake pads, the work is done in 45 minutes, the price is very reasonable and the same as estimated.
This is the auto shop I want to go.

This was a wonderful experience. I am new to the area and needed an oil change done. Additionally, my car was making a squeaking noise. Eric diagnosed the problem as a loose belt. He purchased the part from a nearby store — that his wife/​co-​worker went to pick up while I waited — and replaced the belt for me. My final bill was the price of the oil change ($ 24) and the price of the belt ($ 30). He didn’t charge me labor. On top of that, while we were waiting for his wife to return, he sat down in the lobby with me and got to know me and told me about himself. It was a really great experience, I will definitely be back.

I’ve been a customer of Eric’s Auto back in Kirkland and now at his new location too. He’s very knowledgeable of all sorts of cars. I remember having a discussion about Chevy spider fuel injections when I picked up my Accord for some regular service.
